    Drink menu July 2023

UPDATE: Last night, we came for another date night dinner. Our waitress was clearly much friendlier with the next table, off the bat. For example, she offered them the specials etc and did not even mention them to us. Initially put appetizer, meatballs w ricotta had an eyelash in it but not wanting to ruin the mood, I just cleaned it off and we still ate the dish. However, later on, my entree had another thin hair I discovered while halfway into my dish. I felt that 2 of 4 dishes was unusual and did bring it to the attention of the waitress when she returned to check on us. Instead of an apology, I was told that this had "never happened before in all the years she worked there." I felt that was a disingenuous response and not probable either. She did not offer to comp the second dish. The service left a lot to be desired and despite the food being tasty, the whole experience left me less than welcome. -------------- I'm so impressed with this little Italian gem right here in old orcutt! In the past, my partner and I have often ventured out of town for date nights but I am so happy to find a great option close to Our server, Charlee, was fantastic - it was some of the best service I've had in years! The food was delicious and my partner and I enjoyed an intimate quiet summer evening out front of the restaurant. Surprisingly we were the only ones out front but we did not get forgotten! They offer indoor seating as well as covered patio and tables out front. I am already planning our next date night back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Trattoria Uliveto! Not only were the food and drinks delicious, the ambiance is romantic and the staff is friendly and attentive! We definitely will be back again!

A coworker reccomended this place to me as his favorite place to eat in Orcutt/ Santa Maria, and this place WAS AMAZING. Truly a 10/10 and I already can't wait to come back. Located in Orcutt, I pulled up to a house looking resteraunt. As soon as you walk in through the main doors, you will find yourself in the bar area where the hostess is stationed. We came by on a Thursday night with no reservations at 6pm and we got seated right away. Nice bar area with a good cocktail/ wine list. They serve espresso so that's a plus for me. Their food menu also is of good variety. I decided to go with the Pumkin Ravioli and it was hands down PHONEMENAL. 10/10 The pasta was fresh and the sauce was just incredible. My wife grabbed a Ceaser salad with a side basket of bread and she loved her meal. Do your life a favor and come by here, so worth it! Thanks Trattoria Uliveto for the amazing food!

Valdostana chicken entree with vegetables /mashed potatoes

This place is a nice spot in Orcutt. We wanted Italian food so we decided to try this place. They have bread for a $5 charge with oil and balsamic. It was very good! It tasted like pizza dough, slightly charred but delicious. I got the Valdostana dish with a side of veggies and pasta. Admittedly, I wouldn't get the veggies again. For $4 they give this with less pasta but the vegetables were not hot when I had them. I was disappointed that the vegetables were lukewarm. The flavors were definitely on point with the chicken. It was super juicy and flavorful. I loved the fresh sage and prosciutto. I'm toggling between a 3 and a 4. I thought the food was good, but also a bit surprised with the upcharges with certain items. They do lay the oil heavy but it made the dish very delicious. I'd try other items but would probably skip the side of veggies (since it wasn't hot! And not very memorable).

We ordered 2 chicken entrees here: Valdostana and Mushroom Marsala. Both dishes tasted pretty great, especially the Valdostana. The fillet of chicken is layered with prosciutto and mozzarella cheese and baked to a crisp. If you opt for a side pasta, it comes drizzled in oil and garlic. It might be too greasy for some but we loved it. What's not so great here is the price. I felt that we were being nickel and dimed for every little thing. For instance, unlike most other Italian restaurants, the bread here is not free. But for $5, you do get some pretty damn amazing bread. No free refills though. Also, with the chicken entrees you get a choice of a side of pasta or vegetables. If you opt for both it's an extra $4. My wife got that but it only came with half portion of pasta and a few spinach leaves, 2 slices of carrots and some mashed potatoes. It looked pretty sad to be honest. I will say this place has pretty cool ambiance with festive Christmas decors inside and outside.

I love this place. Whether you were dining in or getting it delivered you can't go wrong. Everything we've tried has been delicious. I've tried the Bolognese, I have tried several different pizzas and salads from there as well and they have all been impeccable. The ambience of this restaurant is very cozy and warm feeling. The employees there are wonderful. They are so kind, and so accommodating. They will answer any questions you have, and you will never feel forgotten about at this restaurant.

A very nice Italian restaurant that serves upscale Italian food. When I say "upscale", I mean they really have the intention to serve food at a more elevated level, versus home style cooking that your mom might make. The servers are dressed consistently in professionally attire, without it being clearly fancy or snooty. The hostess was warm and inviting, the young man that served us water and poured our oil and vinegar was very polite and conscientious. As for the food, it's very good and delicious. There's always some gap between your idea of perfection and what typically gets served, but when what's served is well within what is normal for that kind of dish, any gaps are attributable to difference in taste. For example, my pesto pasta was more creamy in nature with some pesto taste, but not a pesto sauce with a touch of cream. So it was richer and creamier than my preference, but not at all subpar to an objective standard. My wife's chicken masala was cooked well, but she found it a bit saltier than she would have liked. But we try to eat healthy and normally fault on the side of less salt for health reasons. See what I mean? So I would definitely recommend this place and would look forward to trying other menu items. The steak I saw served to the next table was HUGE, the salmon special looked delicious, etc. So the 4 star review isn't from the standpoint of disappointment, but more representative of the gap in preferences to our specific tastes. Price wise, it's not inexpensive, but not exorbitant either. For 3 of us, with one beer, one dessert, $5 bread (w/oil and vinegar), and 3 entrees (the one not pictured was a pizza), it was about $40/person out the door. So, for us, not an everyday type of restaurant, but well within reason for a nice night out or definitely reasonable for a special occasion.

Very nice casual dining place out in Orcutt. The dining room had soaring ceilings and great access to the bar, however did not feel very intimate because of lack of noise control. The table all the way in the other corner was very loud and you could definitely hear them across the dining room. There aren't many fabrics or items to divide off the space and absorb sound. Other than that, the service and food was excellent! The waiter and person who sat me were very nice and friendly and took into account my preferences and requests. I think a chef or manager also stopped by to see how I liked my food and I quite appreciated that! The bread and olive oil appetizer was so warm and delicious and felt fresh and soft. The pasta was so well-made. The flavors, textures, and way it all came together as a dish was definitely high-level, and high-quality! Very very good meal. I was able to take half of this serving home for another whole meal, which was great, because I was traveling from out of town. Pretty quick service and would definitely come here again if I'm ever in this area of California. Amazing food, would recommend!

My co-worker suggested a while back that I try Trattoria so I decided to pick some up on my way from work last night. I was initially confused when I got there because all I saw was Blast, but I realized it was in the very front/left side on the parking lot. When I got inside, there was no one in the front. The waiters saw me but ignored me since they were on the other side of the room. It made me feel a type of way since the store was near empty, but I decided to wait. Eventually someone came by, greeted me, and I put in an order. She was very friendly, answered all my questions, and even gave me some good suggestions! I ended up ordering the funghi pizza, vongole, and zucca. The food was pretty tasty! I had yet to find a decent Italian place here in the central coast, so I was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be coming back to try to food in store. This place is a trattoria, meaning that it's a small, family owned, rustic restaurant. Trattoria has an Italian home feel to it. I'd say the restaurant is casual upscale, so no need to dress too fancy if you don't want to!

Came in to Uliveto for dinner and to support Paige Beal for Elks Rodeo Princess. Dinner was great. I had the salmon special and it was awesome. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and my daughter had the Margherita Pizza. I tasted a little of each of theirs and they were fantastic! See our pics! My wife and I paired our dinner with the Italian Pinot Grigio. It was a good choice. Light but still fruitful. The only downside was that the restaurant was full and it was hard to hear each others conversation with the noise. All in all, it was a great experience, and the service was excellent! We will be back! Cheers!

Me and a buddy of mine had some issues with a few of the self pour taps where we just believed they were out of beer and it also over charged us. I told a server about my single issue where it over charged me and he said he would take care of it but my friend had the worst of luck. 2/3 beers he attempted to pour were simply out. This was when Jess, our savior came to the rescue. When it was time to pay the tab, she comped both of our orders. Mind you, I had 4 beers. Guess what the total was? Yeah, $28. Paid for my wife's beer and our pizza and because I had a single complication with the beer self pour station, she comped the 4 beers I had as well as my friend's order. It took 25 minutes to be asked what we were drinking, and another 20 minutes for two beers to arrive Food Quality Issues: The food served was of low quality, specifically corn rib appetizer were ice cold , the tri-tip was very over cooked and was difficult to chew. My wife ordered the orcutt hill salad entree. The salad was missing two ingredients. Prosciutto and candied pecans. When asked about it the waitress said I will bring you some. She brought a cup of smoked ham, not prosciutto. She indicated that the kitchen was out of candied pecans. Don't you think that should be disclosed to the customer before ordering ? The salad was small, not an entree size. When we asked about seeing a manager, we got a bill with a neighborhood 15% reduction. The building is from 1917 and you can feel it everywhere.... dark wood, stained glass, a ship model in a glass case, an old house telephone booth, a hand-painted figurehead hanging from the ceiling holding lanterns. To give an idea of how much we like these, we stayed at the hotel for a few nights so we could drink a few extra rather than drive. I used to get to NYC and LA a lot, and particularly when Tim is bartending you are definitely getting drinks that would be competitive in a major city's better coctail bar. The other bartenders are also solid (e.g., some of us preferred Lorene's Espresso Martini and Dennis down in the Barrel Room is great but does drinks with a different style/mixers). The food is also quite tasty now. We were there in winter 2024 when there was some kind of big turnover on the kitchen area, and it had been hit-or-miss. New kitchen for 2025 does well on bar staples (e.g., burgers, sliders). The fish and chips is also pretty great: I'm a hard grader on fish, but everyone realy enjoyed them: light, crispy breading that goes great with lemon. For kids, the popcorn maker was a huge hit, though they could use one or two more kid-friendly entrees. Service is friendly, with good decorum (e.g., fine to have plenty of drinks, but pretty obviously not a place to get wild). As there is often only one bartender on duty, I usually just ordered up at the bar and they'll take it to you. Happy hour was 3-5 PM, daily I think- a few bucks off of drinks and most (all?) food half-price. Overall, had a great time. We'd definitely get back again.
