I was at Stoney Brook today for lunch with my group. There were several groups there . The staff was personal, professional and filled requests. The food was exceptional as usual. My group goes to the Stoney Brook several times a year and we always feel as if we are the only group there. The kitchen staff did an outstanding job. I've been coming to this restaurant over the past few months, mainly for their Sunday buffet. The food is good overall, but I've noticed a recurring issue with the menu. There have been multiple occasions where items listed on their website were not available at the buffet. On my most recent visit, at least four advertised dishes were missing. I understand menus can change, but if certain items are not consistently offered, the website should reflect that. Better accuracy would improve the overall experience. Just my $.02. read more

I returned here after a long time away. Three appetizers were ordered, coconut shrimp, calamari friti, and an order of wings. There were six coconut shrimp pieces, and they were of appropriate size. There was a solid shrimp to breading ratio here. Twelve wings were ordered with Buffalo and sweet chili sauce. The sauce was on the side, so it was just a fried wing. The Buffalo was a solid, standard sauce, while the sweet chili was sweeter than I would have thought. The wings as a whole were a little small and inconsistent. Some of the ones I tried were a little undercooked, but nothing drastic. The calamari had way too much breading. I feel like some did not even have calamari. For an entrée, I had the Mediterranean Salad with blackened salmon. The salad consisted of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, peppers, black kalamata olives, feta cheese, artichokes, stuffed grape leaves, cucumbers, and a house made Greek dressing. This was a generous size, especially the salmon filet. It would have been nice for the salmon to have more blackening present but everything else was solid and very fresh. read more

We love brunch here! Wish they had more breakfast options for brunch though as it seems like a lot more lunch options and they're mostly meat so it's not that inclusive if you're a vegetarian. The live omelette station and the cakes are always my favorite! read more

My husband and I went to Stoney Brook Grille for a weekday dinner and sat at a table in the bar area. I started off with the french onion soup which was really good, but my husband didn't enjoy the chicken noodle soup. He said it didn't have enough noodles and the bowl was shallow. For entrees, he enjoyed his jambalaya (be warned- it has a kick and can be too spicy for some!), but I didn't like the crab cake sandwich I ordered. There was something off about the seasoning for me. We also split a side of mac and cheese which I would recommend! We went out with our neighbors to celebrate the new year. It was a part of 8. We had no trouble with the reservation and they were quite willing to discuss where we'd be seated with my husband when he asked. We were seated immediately upon arrival even though we were the first to arrive. Our server, Sam was delightful. She was quite willing to answer questions. I started with the Misunderstood spritz. It was very nice. E has the loaded nachos (delicious but messy) and the calamari as table appetizers. There was plenty to go around. I had the wild mushroom stuffed ravioli. It was so good- I ate it all! My husband enjoyed the strip steak special as well as a house Cesar salad. He brought home leftovers. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The portions were generous. Two people had dessert- one chocolate peanut butter and one cheesecake. Both folks enjoyed their dessert. We sat and talked for quite awhile and never felt rushed. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stoney Brook Grill, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. There is occasionally live music, an excellent happy hour and even free bingo on Tuesdays - with prizes people actually want! I typically sit at the bar while I'm here and the bartenders are always extremely attentive and make excellent cocktails. The brown sugar old fashioned was an absolute delight, with just the right balance of sweetness and complexity. As for the bruschetta, it was simply divine. We went to the buffet today. The food was very good. Prepared perfectly . A large variety. I do think they had to many breakfast items & should have had a few more lunch options. The dessert selection was a nice variety. 5 different cake flavors, apple crisp & bread pudding. I had the crisp & pudding which were served warm & were wonderful. ( could have used a scoop of ice cream on the crisp!). With that being said, everything was good. The service was great. We couldn't have wanted for anything. I really don't enjoy leaving less than stellar reviews but I owe it to my fellow yelpers to express my honest opinions about my experiences. The food was average at best. Flatbread is supposed to be flat, instead it is more like a small square pizza. The chicken dumplings were slimy and the warm spinach and chicken salad was off balance spinach to chicken ratio: for every one leaf of spinach there were three chunks of chicken cooked as if coming from a Chinese food carton container. Service was terrible - from the moment I walked in the hostess was dealing with a job applicant and did not even pause to acknowledge a paying customer who just walked through the door. (Me) The place was dirty, messy and empty at 5:30 on a Thursday evening and of all the empty tables available they chose to sit us all the way at the back right outside the kitchen doors by the bathroom. We ordered dinner from here for a large group and it was very reasonable in price. I ordered the crab cakes dinner which came with jasmine rice and veggies. It tasted like a wholesome meal with the rice and veggies. The crab cakes were tasty (though pretty buttery). I wasn't sure if they were 100% crab or partially filler. They were flaky but also a little mushy so I couldn't tell, but they were still good. Someone else got the crab cake sandwich and also enjoyed it. Others had the jambalaya, nachos and Mediterranean salad. Across the board, everyone liked their food. For the price, I thought it was a great value. I came here as part of a work dinner and I would love to come back again Godwillingly. I don't remember the appetizers too well but I recall they were solid as well. The food here was amazing! I had the half chicken and the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The waitress was friendly, and knowledgeable but I would have really liked it had she read the specials slower and louder since the group was larger. Definitely worth the trip. Wow, can I just tell you how amazing their jambalaya is? It is the best I have had outside New Orleans. A hint of spice, the andouille sausage is fantastic. My mom, sister, and I grabbed lunch here on a Friday after wedding dress shopping. My sister, the bride-to-be, had called in a reservation and requested outdoor dining as we had read they have outdoor seating available as well as heat lamps. When we got there and mentioned sitting outside, the hostess seemed very confused. It turns out that whoever took the call had forgotten to make note of that, and therefore, they didn't have outdoor seating set up. The hostess took a few minutes to set up a table, chairs, and a heat lamp for us which was really nice. We felt so bad inconveniencing her! I wish the person who had taken our reservation had left a note about our request! I had the salmon Poke Bowl for lunch which was delicious and so filling. It was loaded with salmon and all the veggies you can imagine. I loved the seaweed salad mixed in. It was such a colorful and satisfying meal! I was very impressed with the portion size and plating. The Mediterranean salad and chicken teriyaki bowl that my sister and mom got looked very good, too. We were all given bread prior to our meals which was certainly a highlight. It was definitely freshly baked and the herb butter it came with was incredible! We shared some sort of fabulous lemon and raspberry cake for dessert. We were all quite full from our entrees and hesitated about dessert, but in the end we were glad we ordered it! Perfect way to end the meal. Although I cannot comment about indoor dining, I did walk inside to use the restroom and the restaurant appeared to have been following all Covid restrictions. All staff members were wearing masks, tables were easily at least six feet apart, and I saw hand sanitizer at the front of the restaurant for customers to use. It's a family business and it shows. They care about the service they provide and the patrons who receive it. During the pandemic they made it very easy to get good food to bring home. The food is consistently good. We've been a patron for a long time. It's our go to place. I'm a big fan of the jambalaya and the burger is also a good choice. The corn crab chowder is delicious. I wish it was a bigger serving. I listen attentively to the specials because there's usually one or two that pull me away from the jambalaya, sometimes! It's a warm atmosphere. Especially in the bar area. The drinks are done well and the price, in todays world, is reasonable. We also had a private dinner for about twenty. Rave reviews from everyone who attended. This was a great last min find on our way home from Peddlers Village. Our waitress Josephine (pretty sure that was her name) was the best we'd had all weekend. Jerk pulled chicken quesadilla was great from the specials menu. My wife loved her Tuna poke bowl. I wish I wasn't driving 2 hours or I would have tried their Sangria special.
