While treated like a king up to the point we handed over the check, the O'Fallon location customer support after the sale is bottomless. The service dept techs are sloppy and apparently lacking in basic workmanship and troubleshooting skills. I've bought four RVs in my lifetime and this was the most horrendous buying experience I've ever had. The sales group are talented up to the point of sale. The service dept appears to be inept. this review is for the service department. they are the worst. we bought our camper last June and it just had a few lil things that needed to be taken care of. when we pulled it off the lot we were told just call make an appointment and we will take of those right away. well 2 month ago my husband call about those lil things and was told we had only 1 year to get those fixed so he made an appointment for the end of march this year. that was last week and they still have not even started on it. it's still waiting to be put in a stall to be fixed (I know this because I drove by there yesterday). I can't believe that fixing a few lil things would take over a week just to be looked at. when my husband called last week(first call left message still no call back from that) call another person(no names at this time) was told "well we're working on getting you in their are a lot of people ahead of you" so why make an appointment if you still have so long to get things done. At this point we wish we would never pulled the camper of the lot until things were fixed. and never have paid for until they were done. is travers rv only looking to sell and not stand by their customers??? We had a little confrontation with this business, or rather our salesperson. We were negotiating a price on a new rv and made the mistake of letting him know we were cash buyers. He immediately insisted that he would not take any offer to his sales manager without $5000 in earnest money. We have been working with other rv dealers and this is the only one who demanded upfront money like this. Perhaps they're strapped for cash, who knows? We took our motor home in for repairs, we had an appointment and time frame in which it was to be completed . Instead of finishing the request repairs it was moved to another location off property . ( Their body shop) All three doors where left unlocked . While at this location the catalytic converter was stolen. They offered no help in get the catalytic converter replaced. And then charged us for parts they ordered but ran out of time to but on . They did give us the new part. read more

I would improve the service dept. quality , right now there is none . I had my new camper in there service dept. approx. 3 times for different things one was the gas gauge first time they told me they could not fix it because there was no gas in it ok i can understand that. Took it back with gas in it said they could not fix it because there WAS gas in it .they also taped the gauge back on and told me that's the way it came . The third trip they finally got the gas gauges to work. when it was in there the last time they tried to fix a faulty gray water blade valve they replaced the valve but put the rubber gaskets in wrong ( they where bent in half) had to fix that myself . they also told me they fixed a drip in my fresh water tank NOPE STILL LEAKS . Travers RV is just like ever other company they want to sell you something once that's done they do not care about you at all . I could go on there's more . Beware ! I bought a 2014 Thor there with 26,000 miles thinking that would be good with that low miles, wrong. They obviously don't check out there vehicles. when they tried to do a state inspection it kept throwing a code, after some time rhey finally figured out someone straight piped one of the catalytic converters. . 1 1/2 months later, including diagnosis and waiting for the part it's ready to go, wrong again. the jacks dont work right and batteries not charging. another couple weeks waiting on a part to fix it and ready to go, wrong. Leaving town on 250 mile trip and the jacks panel is beeping and warning no power. So stop on the way out of town and they put a charge on it and was told to run the generator to charge the batteries, done, I thought. Get to the rv park, guess what the shore power won't charge the batteries and therefore, no jacks. This problem evidently goes back to day one when they couldn't get the jacks to work right. I should have known then but the sales person lied to me, or didn't know anything about the RV, either way , wrong. Tyler in service has tried to be accommodating but only so much he can do. When i called in this time was told by Andrew that they were too busy and couldn't get it in for a few weeks, and that's to do warranty work. Guess we won't be rving for a while, again. Oh, and black tank won dump either and hasn't even been used, so there's another thing. Seriously thinking about just having this thing repo'd just to get away from it and them. Pathetic. Took my camper in because at 8 days old it leaked all over. I just received the run around. They just tried to put some coating on and charge me. Finally took it somewhere else just to find that the slide is bowing. If travers only would have looked for the problem instead of guessing. Absolutely pathetic. Oh, and don't go calling and asking for management or the owner. They are conveniently never available I only gave it one star because I had to give it something to post. Purchased a brand new 2018 starcraft launch at Eureka Travers May 25 2019, little did I know 2 days before they shut the doors and moved to O'Fallon. I should have realized there was a problem when we noticed there was a slide out problem and service employees were trying to fix it in the parking lot after I signed papers. I was also told two compartment doors that were not sealed properly would be ordered and we could bring back for replacement. Our sales paperwork and service work got lost in the shuffle, recieved sales title paperwork two months later! We took the camper out 4 times, and the last time discovered a leak in the slidout. Called the service department and dropped off the camper August 22 for door replacement, slide out leak, shower door not latching and bowing ceiling trim and screen door not latching properly. I was told it would be two weeks before service could look at it. September 17 I called after never hearing from them and left a voicemail with shop manager Matt Patchin, he never returned my call. Called again the following day, left voicemail and he never returned my call. Called again a few days later and spoke to James who didnt even know anything about it and said he would call back,but did not. I called back and spoke to him on Friday October 4th and he said he would make sure the doors were ordered and callback. I called Monday October 7th and spoke to service manager Charlie when James never called me back who said he would "look into it". I then called starcraft directly regarding the warranty to see if the doors were even ordered, and they were not ordered until October 4th. This company was supposed to order the doors the date of purchase May 25!!! It was not until the manufacturer called the dealership directly did I receive the full attention from the service manager. I finally picked up my camper today October 26. They fixed the doors, but flawed the decals around the doors which now have to be ordered. The shower door latch still needs to be ordered, which I will have to install after they mail it to me. When I got the camper home and opened the slide outs while it is raining, discovered the slide out is still leaking! I called and spoke to James who said the documentation on the service paperwork simply states that the slideouts were "looked at" not fixed. The service department is horrible! They lack simple customer service and are uncaring. Do not buy from this company!!! They will not help you with warranty issues and do not care! read more

Had my Class A Motorhome towed to St. Louis RV body shop after it was damaged heavily. My insurance company used this shop for the estimate as well. The RV was worked on by them, and I was notified when the shop said it was completed. Upon arrival for pickup, the RV had electrical wires hanging out of the interior A-pillar, the inner black plastic body liner was improperly installed, allowing for a hand sized gap for water to enter. Nicole and Kevin stayed and oversaw parking lot "repairs" replacing the wiring back inside the A pillar trim, and spraying some cheap expanding foam product into the gap on the inner body liner. I drove the RV home, and at dark realized the left front headlamp was out. They body shop did NOT plug it back in, and managed to pull the ground wire out of the pigtail. I notified Nicole, and then Dale via telephone, and repaired that issue myself. Upon the RV being in the rain for the first time, 9 days after pickup, water was leaking from the windshield gasket into the rv, and from the upper corner area of the front cap. Both, areas repaired by St. Louis RV. The RV is currently back at their bodyshop for repair again. Interesting note. The initial estimate that was approved and paid indicated work such as Removing and re-installing the entire front cap, that Dale indicated himself,was not performed. The then filed 2 additional supplements totaling in excess of $2,000. I was told by Dale the RV received a front end alignment as well, but upon picking the unit up, the steering wheel is off center almost a quarter turn to the left. Upon notifying the shop of the unplugged and damaged headlamp wiring pigtail, Nicole first argued with me that they did not even remove the headlamp. Nicole said they had pictures to prove they did not remove it. The area of damage was less than 5 inches from the edge of the headlight. They billed the insurance company for removal and installation of the headlight. *UPDATE RV was driven to Tenessee the week after repairs were completed. It leaked from the windshield and repaired top corner of body the first time it rained. Returned the RV to their shop when we got back into town. On or about June 1, 2017. Found out from Dale that the original windshield gasket was reused. Their remedy was to apply liquid sealant over gasket and body. I demanded a new seal be installed for a correct repair. Took 4 phone calls arguing with Dale, and getting the GM Dave involved. The RV has now been sitting there since the first week of June and they have still not gotten parts or repairs started. (8/1/2017) Just keep getting told that they are having "issues" getting parts. read more

Travers RV. They did just about everything wrong! Over priced! Everything during the sale was fine. Everything after was horrible! After they got my money, they picked up and moved a week later. The entire dealership GONE! Took my trailer all the way to the new location without my knowledge or even so much as a courtesy call to let me know that my 20,000$ investment was being moved an hour away. All the promises are pure garbage! When I finally received my trailer they didn't even know where the keys or paper work was. Took almost a week to get them to me as my camper sat unsecured. My trailer by the time I got it had bad hail damage, leaks inside the kitchen, a clogged grey water discharge, Staples and wall board popping out and a laundry list of other issues from my "NEW" camper. I warn anyone thinking of purchasing from Travers.. DON'T DO IT! The only good note is the porter who had dropped it off went out of his way to try to help get me the keys. Final note. Parking at the new location was a joke. I had to move my vehicle 4 times in 45 minutes so campers could be moved. I couldn't even tell you where to go and where to park read more

Our experience at Travers St. Louis RV can be summed up in one word "FANTASTIC". We made our purchase remotely and our sales consultant, Bob Isenmann, was so helpful and responsive, which made the whole process seamless and enjoyable. This dealer is dishonest and when you take your RV in for service they always leave one repair on your list unrepaired and tell you to bring it back again for that repair. Several members of our RV club purchased RV's from this dealer and say they will never go back to St. Louis RV. I had a broken windshield and my insurance company looked and looked for an installer and they finally made a deal with St. Louis RV to do the install. The next day after install, it rained and the windshield leaked. On a current trip I was under the hood and noticed the rubber at the windshield was half on and half off. The install was defective and I will NEVER take it back to them as they are incompetent and deceptive! On another occasion I had a sewer problem. STL-RV had it all day and they did not fix it because they had no one who knew anything about my system. They not only did not fix it, but disconnected a sensor and said they could not fix it. Bring it back after your trip. We left on a 3 month trip the next day and it is still not working correctly. . read more

Brought my RV in for a leaking shower, it was bought from a different location and they agreed to pay STLRV for the repair. The leaking shower caused the insulation in the underbelly to become soaked in water. Nelson, the "salesmen" mislead me multiple times throughout the process. Told me the insulation was replaced, but all they did was place a 10" x 10" square piece of insulation under the shower, on top of the existing moldy insulation. It took 3 1/2 weeks for a job they billed at roughly 9 hours. They also "fired" the tech that did the work. When picking up my unit, Nelson told me the smell was the glue they used and it would go away. Which in fact was the mold that had started to grow while sitting on their lot for three plus weeks. After picking my RV up, we took it on small 2 week trip. To my surprise the shower was still leaking, and the smell never disappeared. Because of the incompetence of Nelson and the service department, my underbelly was full of mold throughout the insulation. I reluctanly brought the rv back in a second time for them to repair the leaking shower again. I was told there would be no cost to me, and that it would be fixed in a couple days. They played a he said, she said blame game about why the insulation wasn't replaced. I was then forced to pay for the insulation to be ripped out and replaced. They gave me a "break", and only charged me $700, and had my unit for around a week. 2 weeks later, it's obvious the mold problem is not repaired. You can smell the mold from the outside and all through the inside of the trailer. Because of the incompetence and cr@p work the service department did, I will have to take my unit back into another shop for a third time. read more

BREACH OF CONTRACT.... I have waited and waited hoping I could post a positive review of how they took care of us and the issues we are still facing with our new toy hauler, but I cannot wait anymore and have to share.... We are HIGHLY disappointed! Cierra was wonderful to work with during the purchase process but that is the only positive thing I have to say. My husband had waiting and researched a great deal of toy haulers to meet our needs. We thought we found the one and purchased a Highlander. The snowy evening we picked it up the two gentleman helping us were so kind. It was when they hooked it up They, the service men, notice the back door was warped and would not stay latched. They took photos and my husband took photos and they instructed him to take it home and they would order a new door and decal the next day. A few days later my husband noticed the front door was also warped and he immediately notified them that we would need two doors and sent more photos. Then weeks past, no calls, no responses to our calls. My husband stops by and learns the service guy helping us that evening is no longer with them and was told there was no paperwork and nothing had been submitted. Then after many discussion with my hubby, requesting multiple photos that he already gave them, they were suddenly able to locate said paperwork. After several more visits to the shop, as my husband was not receiving any notifications, he was told corporate was not going to honor the warranty and replace the doors. The service man, James, told my husband he would have to contact Highlander directly as there was nothing else he could do. After several more conversations with Highlander, being told there was nothing wrong with the doors, they were not going to replace them, and that he needed to contact St Louis RV for them to fix the doors, my husband called St Louis RV and told them he is bringing the camper back and they will be replacing the doors. They finally agreed and two new doors and decals were ordered. When the doors arrived we delivered our fifth wheeler to the shop and reported a few more things that needed to be attended to while they have it. They kept our fifth wheeler for approximately 1 month to install 2 doors and fix the few items that we had reported needing to be fixed. When it was finally ready for pick up they informed my husband that the decals for the doors did not arrive. So we will arrange to bring it back when they do arrive as Covid hit and understandably we knew decals would be delayed. 5 months now no decals. On top of this, we were finally able to take it out camping and found that our brand new generator (which we had not even turned on yet) suddenly had 42.8 hours on it, there was one ratchet strap and a soccer ball under the sink in the bathroom in the garage area (not ours), and a Tupperware container in a cabinet. Someone had obviously used our camper during the time it was in their possession and of course, no one knows anything or responded to us about this. We also noticed (and took MORE pictures) of the door trim that is not installed correctly as we can see outside, the back screen door does not latch, the table we used for the first time is broken, the TV and surround system was wired incorrectly, the faucet hose was wrapped around the drawer frames under the sink not allowing the hose to stretch out and several items on the 'initial To Do' list were not done. Now mind you, we purchased it in January and it is now June. We have been making a payment equal to our house payment for something we could not use for 4 months! WE ARE HIGHLY DISSATISFIED AND HAVE NOTIFIED OUR ATTORNEY WHO WILL PURSUE BREACH OF CONTRACT. read more

We are from central Illinois. I had a Class A motorhome in the past and we are somewhat familiar with the market. We had our search narrowed down to 2 specific models/styles. I thought this would be worth the drive since they had both on their lot according to the website. We called and set up a time to meet with a salesperson ahead of time. After making the drive, we arrived to find one of the units was a pre-owned rental which had been abused. The other was in "the shop" (which was not on this property). I felt like the salesperson could have made sure the second rig was on location since we took the effort to call ahead and make the drive. PLEASE!!! Do NOT use these people. They are scammers! I contacted them to inquire about an RV at which time the Sales Manager Steve stated the had the exact RV. We discussed price and came to an agreement. Later I looked on their website and couldn't find the particular RV so I tried calling the next morning only to not have call returned! That was August 11, 2016. Friday I contacted them again only to be told Steve was off. Then Saturday through Wednesday no return call. I began to get suspicious and contacted the credit department (Chris) at which time I asked if he had heard from Steve. He stated Steve said the unit didn't exist so not to do a credit check until he (Steve)could get with me stating he was out Ill. I agreed. That was August 12, 2016. I finally got with Steve and he agreed they would get very close to the drive out price on a 2017. I ask him to not run credit until we agreed on price and he said OK! Today I found out Chris did on August 11, 2016 run my credit and lied about it blowing up my hard inquiries without my permission. They are liars in so many ways! I contacted the GM (Bill) which stated he didn't want to hear my story and hung up. Basically his sakes manager was covering his ass and got to him an lied. BEEARE THEY HAVE 18 derogatory hits with BBB and they aren't even members of BBB. CROOKS! THE LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING! My husband and I flew into St. Louis from Texas this weekend and rented an RV from St. Louis RV. I can't go on enough about how great the experience was! I found them online and put down my deposit. The RV we got (a Class C) was bigger than I anticipated. Very spacious and could sleep 10 people! Luckily it was just the two of us and my son meeting us at our RV spot for a family reunion. In the evenings we had plenty of room for a group to play cards, snack, etc. Anyway, about the experience.... Lora was very good at sending reminders of when the payment was due, emailing the paperwork for us to send back, etc. I was disappointed that we were the last in line to pick up our RV to start our vacation (3PM instead of 2 like I thought) but she ended up letting us bring it back an hour later which actually worked out better! The RV was clean and they did a great job of showing us how to use it. They were even available for a phone consultation (after hours) when we forgot one of the steps for leveling the motor home. I loved the fact that they didn't charge extra for generator use and we had a generous amount of miles that could be used per day. They even cleaned out the sewer for us when we dropped it off and refilled the propane so we didn't have to mess with any of that! All we had to do was bring it back full of gas which is very easy because there is a gas station across the street. Dropping it off was a breeze and took no time at all! I wish we didn't have to buy extra insurance as our car insurance would have covered it, but Lora explained that not all insurance companies are the same, and it was just for precaution. Luckily the extra insurance was not that much. I will definitely use them again if I ever need to rent another motor home in the St. Louis area. (Unless I can convince my husband to buy one!) read more

My girlfriend and I purchased a new leftover 2018 starcraft launch from them in may of 2019 memorial weekend. Had 3 days to pick it up. Which wasn't a problem. Upon picking it and doing the walk through I noticed the slide out floor was not connected and the screen door didn't latch. They added some washers to space out the latch so it would work. The slide out well they used the forklift to raise the floor in place and installed longer bigger screws to hold it in place. Which again it worked. I wasn't thrilled about this but it works. Next the compartment doors on both sides in the front didn't seal right. So a technician tried to adjust them by bending them and creased them leaving them worse than before. They took pictures said they order new ones. 2 days go by and I see the dealership is closed out of business! I pull in sign says they moved to the o'Fallon dealership. Told no one what was happening. I call the dealership and they have no idea what I'm talking about. They said we look into it call you back! 2 weeks go by no phone call. I call they say bring it in. I say order the doors and I will when they come in. 3 weeks nothing I call they never ordered them. Then i find out from my girlfriend that they have the title paperwork messed up and cant pay sales tax or get plates. Week later paperwork is fixed and I decided to finish camping for the year then I'll take it in. But in August 4 months later we are camping and shower doors keep falling of track trim is falling down slide out leaks door latch doesn't work. So I take it in for all warranty issues to be fixed. 3 weeks go by not even looked at. Long story short we made several attempts Contracting them and no call backs! They said they called it in waiting to hear back 7-10 days. I waited 14 just to find out the claim wasn't made yet! I called starcraft and made the claim myself and then travers decided to call me and said we got the call from starcraft and your camper is ready except the bent doors. I went and picked it up today. They messed up the decals putting in the doors and didn't fix the shower door issue said they would mail me the piece to fix it myself! I pull the camper home in the rain open the slide up to find out they didn't fix shit! It still leaks! Travers will not earn my business or anyone I knows business! They lied numerous times didn't do the work f"d up my decals and are being rude now that I called them out on their bullshit! Social media here I come! I bought a new 2019 Winnebago in April. Went on our first camping trip in the middle of May. Then the seals leaked and I had standing water in my cargo bay. It damaged the paneling. I don't know if there will be mold issues or floor rotting do to the standing water. I told them I didn't want it cut and pieced back together. I took it in on May 30th and have not seen it since. I tried calling at least once a week but I wouldn't get a reply. I tried the BBB and Missouri Attorney General with no response from Travers. It has been 12 weeks. When I talked to Charlie on August 23rd I told him I wanted a replacement or my money back. I am half way done with my warranty with very little time to camp and test everything out before winter and then the end of my warranty. But he said that was not going to happen. dishonest, made a 600 mile trip to check out a 2007 newmar dutch star, unit was said to be in good condition. about as far from that as you can get. the pictures were taken with great care to hide the obvious problems. there is a picture of a dryer but no washer you no why because it's not there, just like the satellite system, surround sound, the controller for all the T.V.s, the fridge/freezer combo unit in the underside storage. this things was a total wreck. did a complete inspection of the unit told them about all the things wrong with it and said no thanks there thoughts are someone with no knowledge of motorhomes will buy it. buyer beware of this place and this unit. they bought it at an auction over 2 years ago and still haven't found a sucker to buy it so just be sure you're not the one. read more

My wife and I were in St. Louis last week in a 2016 Winnebego and needed the driver chair repaired since the recliner would not retract for driving. Dealer told me they are ONLY repairing RV's sold by the dealership. They advised they ONLY do warranty work on RV's they sell! read more

we bought our winnabago motorhome class a 35 ft. from st.louis rv in 2016, october of 2017 we are coming back from colorado (one hood latch fell off - the other barely hanging on) this has been an issue winnabago has been having (meaning it was ongoing issue) st.louis rv was called to order the parts while we were on the road. well this is dec 31st. i had to call winnabago and follow up on parts being ordered, also i was out of warranty and winnabago was good enough to give us the parts, st. louis rv wants to take credit for that, i dont think so. any way thru the bbb i found out it will be after january 11th before they are finished with our motorhome. they owe us 4 months of payments as far as i am concerned or as i said before (buy it back). we were going to trade this in for a larger unit but if we have this much trouble just getting hood latches ( would you buy from these folks) ? unacceptable is all i can say. would not recommend st. louis rv st.louis rv has the worse service department we have ever encountered. can not imagine doing business with them in the future. some woman in the office told bbb she got winnabago to give us the hood latches since it was out of warranty, thats a lie. i called them myself and spoke to nicholas at winnabago. we have only had grief since we bought this rv from st. louis rv. i have turned them into bbb several times. poor service poor managment - we was wanting to upgrade - chase from st. louis rv only wanted to give us 1/2 of what our unit cost us for trading in. crazy. no way. we will never go back there. hoping they will buy our unit back. nothing but trouble. they are selling more units than their little service department can handle. over booked. they can not accomdate all the units they are selling. buyer beware of the service department. 0 read more
