I am just here to share my most recent experience with Travis credit union and their terrible practices. If you're a person or family barely making it living paycheck to paycheck and don't have a hefty savings or investments account, They will absolutely not value you as a customer. Long story short, they unexpectedly closed all 6 of our accounts without warning. Funds all frozen and no way to get them back within a reasonable time. My husband had been on disability for a few weeks. So he had not been receiving his employers direct deposit into our joint account. But his personal account, which Edd gets direct deposit to, and my personal account, where I receive my employers direct deposit, (Zelle, Venmo & cashapp from my small business) have been active. There was a scheduled payment that we forgot about come out of our joint that over drafted our account. However there were funds in our personal and savings accounts that could have been transferred over to take care of that, but because our joint account had been inactive for longer then 45 days (no deposits or withdrawals or transactions), that was the reasoning why all accounts where closed. Not just the joint account in question. We thought we were being responsible by not using said account since my husband was not working. When I called and asked why I hadn't received a courtesy call, to warn us about closing all accounts, Jimmy R. Said "we don't do courtesy calls". This was extremely frustrating as we both had our direct deposits pending and rent due. The j Ku solution given was to return to the branch and open new accounts, but funds from old accounts would be sent by mail and take up to 10 business days. Pending direct deposits would bounce back, as accounts were no longer active. So opening new accounts would absolutely not solve our problem. Conveniently our car loan account was kept open so we could walk into any branch and pay off our loan at our convenience. I've been banking with Travis longer than 10 years. Never in my life have I felt so small. Given our financial hardship and not receive any sympathy. We weren't asking for anything but our funds same day so we can pay our rent and eat. We are still waiting for said check and Jimmy to give us an update. We w called back twice and both associates have let us know that there are notes from Jimmy and to just wait for his call. The worst business I've ever experienced in my life! Had a claim from Expedia that I had to open twice and Travis did nothing to rectify or retrieve my funds. They said I had to wait two billing cycles to see if Expedia would refund the money that was stolen from me. I asked for provisional credit because I knew Expedia scammed me. Travis refused. Bow two months later I'm still trying to retain my $300 dollars and Travis keeps avoiding me and sending me to card services voicemail. Then the loan person that had an issue with me personally decided to suspend my card and funding which is now negatively affecting my credit situation because of it. Worst TCU ever! I go down to the branch hoping to get my ATM card replaced and I check in. Then wait over 45 minutes while person after person goes to lunch. You would think they know that lunch is a busy time and to staff accordingly. Nope. I was advised it won't be long another person will come to help. No one ever did. I requested a loan for $7,200 but the loan officer conspired to pay the seller in full $9,500 and increase my loan by $3,200. Today around 12:45 I went to make a delivery at the Travis bank and it was received by a security guard who looked like a Latino. Then I realized that it was the wrong address and I asked for the order back and he told me that I had never delivered anything to him... not even 5 minutes passed! He's a thief. read more

If your card gets compromised they will expect you to talk with the vendor it was used at and get your own funds back. Travis Credit Union did not have my back at all and did not even ask me follow up or further questions regarding fraudulent transactions. They do not care and will pass the buck off to you, the customer, in an attempt to wash their hands of it. I am out $100 because the vendor couldn't refund a fraudulent transaction. Did Travis discuss anything with me? No, they did not. This credit union is ran like a big bank who does not care for its members. We've been getting a ton of spam calls and emails. When we tracked them we found that our personal information is being obtained from this credit union. We attempted to opt out of selling our information to third parties and were told that we cannot do that. It is unlawful to deny a consumer to opt out of having their personal information sold to anyone who is willing to pay for it. read more

If no stars were a available I would give this branch 0 stars. I called the day before and spoke to a representative at the call center. We proceeded to book an appointment for this branch the following day at 1 PM. We show up and complete all the checkin procedures and u even received the reminder messages about my schedule appointment. We are waiting for a few minutes past our scheduled appointment time. The branch manager walks up and states that they unfortunately double booked the time slot. I looked at him and said even though I booked via phone with the call center the day before. The managers answer was "sorry, the double booked time slot should have never happened". So they proceeded to take the other person without any further explanation. Service came in to pay car loan. I signed and as requested and Spanish customs were chosen. The clerk decided who is seen even when I signed in customers were seen first. I was told by the manager, a patient young man, that took the time to address some of my concerns, the online loop not being allowed to talk to an operator, the wait to be seen to pay my car note. Being new to paying my car loan inside the bank, the manage pointed me in the right direction and gave me his card for future help. I change my 2 stars to 4 stars. They on several occasions have withdrawn funds out of the someone else account when I have requested a withdraw. I have even written the account number down for them and they still make the mistake. The manager (Derek) failed to complete a withdraw correctly by signing the check, making it incomplete and I was unable to deposit it at another bank. I had to go back to a branch get it signed and return to the other bank. He was very rude and unprofessional. I thinking of withdrawing all my funds. I love that this credit union has later Saturday hours than most banks. I believe this one closes at 4:15pm on Saturdays. Most banks are closed by 2:00pm. I haven't experienced too many long lines here. Today I didn't have any line. I went directly to a teller. It was easy breezy! There is always plenty of parking because of it's location at Gateway Plaza, across the street from the mall. I have been trying to refinance my car for a few months ive had no luck until i came in to this travis credit union and a financial service representative named ashley helped me to be able to finally refinance. She was extremely nice and with a smile on her face the whole time. She has by far the best customer service ive had in my life she explained everything perfectly she really helped out alot. Never had a bad experience with Travis CU. Overall their staff is friendly and they offer what I need. People need to understand that this IS NOT A BANK stop expecting from Credit Unions what you'd expect from a bank. Big shout out to Marcus, great guy, make that guy employee of the year, he is hilarious and he really takes the time to offer you what's best for you, he'll always smile and waive at you even when you're there for other businesses. I'd like to note that I tried to issue this written feedback privately but was told they don't have email (which is hard to believe in 2019). There are 2 stars only for their solution and reversal of the manipulative fees they attempted to charge based off their accounting errors on my auto loan. I'd first like to start off that their web and iOS software has very pour usability and interface. The technology lacks the ability to connect with an outside bank so paying a bill virtually is near to impossible unless you pay from your bank. Here is a timeline and analysis of the events that have built up to this review: A payment was issued (on time) via my personal checking account (BofA) on the 15th. On 2/28 I received a courtesy call and reminder of payment. On one line, I had TCU and BofA confirm payment was made but understood loss in transportation so a stop payment was agreed, BofA issued a new check. On that same day, after our 11am phone call, that check was deposited. But because a stop payment was issued, it was refunded 5 days later and TCU then charges me 2 additional fees (despite both reps talking to each other on 3 way, agreeing on a stop payment). A second call was made from TCU to me on 3/7, reminding me again and I ask the rep to reference the note, explain the situation and say check should be there any moment. She explains there was a stop payment issued on that check, and need another so I am astonished and reference that TCU must have found the supposedly lost check, deposited despite to conversation. She says there is no note made on the account (but after explaining the situation, does not explain additional fees charged that cleared on 3/5? which I find distrustful). I ask her to please make a note of it on my account, especially because it was confirmed by a 3rd party so TCU knows my attempts and validity in making timely payments. On the same day the second rep makes the call (3/7) the second check clears. On 3/13 I notice the additional charges in online banking and make the call on 3/14 to rectify and address the manipulation and complete lack of communication at their behalf. Fortunately, they recognized their mistakes and reversed the applicable fees. What I am most concerned with was when I asked what forms of assurance can they offer me, as a customer to have confidence and trust in their process because a pour customer experience has been created and a lack of trust has been established now based on these interactions. There was no ownership to the mistake, no explanation on how the mistake would not occur again and no viable solution offered. When I asked how I could get written feedback to management so they could understand their processes I was presented with two options; 1. Mail a written letter in or 2. Fax a written letter. Perplexed, I asked for the email of a supervisor or manager where I could provide written feedback on my experience and how it has shaped the trust lost with the auto loan provider but instead was told Travis does not operate with virtual feedback or email. I find this extremely hard to believe, given we are in 2019. I hope that somehow, someway this organization can do it's customer's justice and rectify the lack of trust. If I would have been presented with a narrative like the one I just experienced, I never would have chose this credit union as an option for financing and auto loan. I hope a representative can effectively communicate and assure this will not happen again or at least try to provide a solution. read more

Travis Credit Union has the worst policy related to international money transfers. The branch enters in the information necessary for the wire. Then the corporate office reviews the information and sends a screen shot to the customer, which has to be approved within a certain timeframe. If you miss the timeframe, you have to go back into the branch to start the process all over again. If the overseas bank asks for confirmation on specific information, Travis CU will call you again to confirm the same information you already provided when you initiated the transfer! "Mandy" at the corporate office will even hang up on you if you're calling on someone else's behalf and the account holder is not available. read more

Wouldn't recommend this bank. They were good at first but have had nothing but problems with them the last few years. Their app never works. I called customer service and they said iPhone users experience a lot of problems. Also I refinanced my house and needed to deposit an escrow check . Called customer service when I realized the check got denied after depositing it at the ATM. They said since my brother was on it I just need him to sign it and can bring it inside instead of using the ATM . Drove the two hours to his house to do so and they still would not deposit the check. I understand that's their policy but I was specifically told by their customer service I just needed to get him to sign it. I supported a young man I work with who has a developmental disability here to start a bank account. Ashley assisted us and provided us with some of the best customer service I've ever had. She was very thourough and spoke to my client respectfully and in manner that left him completely informed about what he was signing up for. She explained everything to us and answered any questions we had. She even went the extra mile to give him a card with his member ID and her contact information. Often times when I assist my clients in the community we are met with a dismissive attitude, but Ashley gave us the complete opposite experience. Stopped by this location last Friday to deposit a settlement check. No line or wait. Teller called me right up. The issue is with the teller. She went through my bank activity asking me where I got the check from and what it was for. I've never had to answer any of these questions or had a teller go through my bank activity. I've deposited and cashed checks for large amounts at my main branch ( Richmond) and at other locations. Never had a problem. I literally sat at the window for 5 minutes explaining what the check was for. I even suggested she call and verify the check with my lawyer. The teller still insisted on asking me why have I not cashed checks from the name on the check. Once again I explained it was a settlement check for an accident. Not sure if I was racially profiled but it sure felt like it. If it weren't for me taking a liking to Travis I would empty my accounts and go elsewhere. read more

If you get a loan through them, they charge an outrageous amount to make a payment over the phone and it's a higher fee for talking to someone and making a payment. Won't do business with them again. I had purchased an F150 from Future Ford and they had me finance it through Travis Credit Union. After 1 year of perfect payments, I traded the truck in on Feb 22, 2020 to Future Ford and got a new F250. I signed documents with Future Ford saying they would pay off the F150 loan immediately. For some reason, Future Ford took longer to pay off the loan, and Travis Credit Union marked it as a late payment, even though it was paid in full, and their loan partner, Future Ford, instructed me not to make any further payments. The result was a 40 point drop during a time I am trying to get a mortgage. This is a horrible way to treat your current/past customers. I feel that if I had financed the new loan with Travis, that they would not have done this. I strongly encourage anybody considering geting a vehice loan from Travis CU to reconsider. They do not have the well being of their customers in consideration of their actions. read more
