Then I run the entire trail which is about 2.58 miles around one time. Then I walk back to my car. The trail is gravel which is better for your feet, knees and hips opposed to concrete. You'll even catch a bunny or two eating a snack in the grass. Its peaceful for the most part. An area for the doggos to play and a playground for the kiddos. There are bathrooms to the left of the main parking lot.

Arriving at Seabourne Creek, I definitely hit the jackpot. There are beautiful paths to walk along with a nice little lake to fish. Birds, butterflies and everything more a entire preserve needs. The downfall is, me and my pup got there at noon when the sun was out strong. My boy couldn't be out long so we ended up staying for 40 mins just exploring. Kind of a bummer since it took an hour to get there. Definitely a great place to visit when the heat isn't a factor. I have to come back and visit during the morning hours.

Large park with paved and unpaved trails on the west side of Houston. Located between Katy and the…read moreloop, George Bush park is located south of the freeway and is a vast floodplain with a continuous multi use trail that is accessible to cyclists and runners/walkers. It's also connected to the Terry Hershey trail system and is next to a shooting range as well as some outdoor parks on the south side. This park is best used for cyclists and there are long stretches of pretty exposed trail that will get hot in the sun. There is more of a shaded portion of the park on the west side but the trail quality is also a bit below average in that portion. For walkers, this would be a fairly boring trail that is mostly out of the shade; Terry Hershey would be the recommended trail in that regard due to the greenery. The parking lots here are pretty unsafe on the west side; the best one is in the middle of the park once you go north from Westheimer or the parking lot next to the police station on Barker Clodine. The highway 6 parking lot / Briar Forest lot is not recommended due to break ins.

The city of Sugar Land - Jessica Luna and Nicole Solis - reached out to me & used predatory/threatening language in their emails for doing so. Apparently, being a resident & tax paying citizen means that you can't use public parking, host a small community event, or anything at Lonnie Green Park without city officials feeling the need to overstep. It's sad that the city feels they have nothing better to do than micromanage the use of neighborhood parks & public spaces (or private apparently!) for events of less than 10 people. I was absolutely shocked by the treatment and scrutiny they gave me when I have previously never had an issue with using this park or parking in the area.

I bring my coworkers here after work so we can workout and wind down after a 12 hour shift on a psychiatric unit. It's very relaxing and a great way to talk and decompress while doing something healthy. There is also a small playground for children to play. Great park!!!

This place is a "mo-storic" (healthy mixture of modern & historic), overlooked Sugar Land paradise…read more Stop by and get to know this park whether you're a local or nomad. You'll be glad you did, as it's one of the lessen known recreational getaways, right in the middle of old & new treasures. One of the oldest treasures is the Imperial Sugar Mill campus, visible across US ALT-90 FWY. The newer treasure is Sugar Land's premier coffee roaster, Blendin Coffee Lab. Found just 5 minutes (walking) East from the park entrance. Highlight: Ample sized playground & swing set attracts leaves in the winter, but come Spring there's more people than grains of sand in the volleyball court. Well, that's obviously impossible. But if you require 1 of the 4 picnic tables (2 under the Pavilion, other 2 uncovered), you best get up before the rest of Sugar Land's newly informed explorers. Park-goers rave about the safety and peacefulness of the simple yet sufficient offerings, however there is one clear downfall. Downfall: If there is a real downfall to this great local treasure trove, it's the Parking Situation. Very limited; see the signature, same named section below for a in-depth explanation. Fact: Stick around long enough on the Northwest side of the park's benches and you'll be surrounded by one of Sugar Lake's duck flocks, who tend to devour worms in the afternoon/early evenings there. Bonus Fact: There are 6 trash cans. Yeah, I know, right? Stellar Performance: The groundskeepers here deserve credit. Always freshly cut grass, and emptied trash cans. All SIX of them! Leaves pile up most weeks, but it makes you feel like you're in the Northeast. Washroom Situation: There is no washroom, thus no situation. Unless you have to "go". In that case, YOU have a situation. Parking Situation: Vehicle Parking here is limited to 6 paralleled parked street spots (1 handicapped). There is a dentist and dry cleaning parking lot across the street, but no guarantee of being towed or not. Luckily that lot is easily visible from any part of the Lonnie Park, if you really feel like running down a ticketing cop. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the park grounds. Tip: Swing by on a Saturday afternoon. If there's an open parking spot, do your busy brain a favor and stop by and relax for half an hour at the near 4 acre plot of public property. The Loop is a perfect ¼ mile. 500 steps or 5 minute walk. The Figure Eight path is a more interesting stroll at 0.32 miles and 100 more steps or 1 additional minute to the loop. It's my recommendation between the two options. Bottomline: Stroll for a quiet loop around this quaint park and be teased by the rolling sounds of train tracks while peeking through weathered tree branches at the historic Imperial Sugar water tower.

I frequent this park often due to its accessibility and ample space. It also has plentiful parking with a dedicated lot. The park has a dirt walking/jogging path that's about one mile (2,000 steps). When the weather is nice you'll see folks walking or jogging. I've never seen the park super packed unless there's a school event. Across the street to the west is Thornwood Elementary and to the south is Spring Forest Middle School. Stratford High School is also close by. The park is really flat which makes for easy walks, and there's a small hill in the middle if you like elevation though it is a really small hill. Other than the dirt gravel getting your shoes here and there and the random dog poop, this is a great park! Take advantage!

Location is a bit obscure. Using navigation it shouldn't be an issue to find it, but it is a bit of…read morea ways off Highway 6 or any other major roadway. It is located to some baseball fields so sometimes the area will have lots of cars parked on the street during the games. The location has a private parking lot so it's never an issue to find an open spot. Going in the interior is pretty nice and clean for the most part. The only part that I found wasn't as clean was the bathroom. Honestly, its a gym, I didn't expect to much from that. The gym area is split into two basketball courts (full court-sized). The facility changes the layout of the gym to fit the different activities that people will take part in onsite. I've gone to play table tennis and basketball so I can offer insights on what takes place during those two sports. 1. Table Tennis: There are 5 tables and generally will all be in use. However, most of the time there wouldn't be too much of a wait time if at all. Generally people will just play doubles if there are too many people. Plus, people come and go, so it's not a big issue. 2. Basketball- When both courts are in use. They split it into two different sides. One side will have a full-court game going on. The other will have 3 baskets down and can potentially have three cramped half-court games going on. During these times the place is PACKED. This is especially so during holidays when lots of the schools are out on holiday. Bonus: I would definitely recommend checking the activity schedule before you go. It wouldn't be fun to show up expecting to play something when it's something else set up in the gym. They offer physical calendars on-site or you can just look it up on their website. Membership fees for individuals who are from Sugar Land is $10 for the whole year! Pretty amazing. I believe for those who are not from SL, it is currently $40 for the whole year which isn't a bad deal either honestly.
