Hello ladies! If you're looking for a hairstylist, hair colorist, or on-the-go hair/makeup stylist, JAZLIE is your girl! She is professional, communicative and very, very patient with her clients. During the craziness that was COVID, I was very fortunate to have met Jazlie who was able to do multiple balayage treatments on my hair when I was super pressed for time, and ended up doing amazing work on my wedding day too (FYI, never get engaged, married and moved in less than a year during a pandemic). When I met for my first balayage appointment, I was bent on the trendy rose gold color for my hair, but Jazlie talked me out of it since she felt that a cooler tone (lavender rose) would be better for my hair long-term in case I didn't do a touch-up. I was worried about the purple in my hair, but boy, was she right. During our appointment, she was very personable and gave a lot of good tips for caring for my balayage (unfortunately, I didn't heed her advice the first time around). Her customer service is top-par, as she was willing to wait beyond work hours to touch up my hair another time two days or so before my wedding. It was a dark and stormy night, but she made my hair shine beautifully rose gold for my wedding day! I ended up getting a lot of compliments on my hair color, hair styling (done by her skilled friend), and makeup for my big day. I really wanted to like this place due to all the reviews but unfortunately won't be returning. I made an appt with Jazlie prior to a wedding after reading all the rave about her. I usually am able to create my own hair styles but felt the need to go to someone this time because I had just came home from weeks of traveling and was overall tired. I had requested for a specific type of curls that would blend in together and also a volumized side swept curl. The curls didn't turn out as I expected, I felt like I could've done a better job. My hair ended up not lasting long and needed to be fixed by myself through the day. The most disappointing part of this was I felt super overcharged. She asked me for $100 to curl my hair. This does not even include a wash and blow dry. This was pretty crazy considering another place has once charged me $45 for the SAME hairstyle. read more

Steven is honestly the best. I've been going to him 3 times a year for the past 2-3 years now and I can honestly say he is the only one I trust with my hair! I get my roots touched up, wash, and cut for such an affordable price. I would NEVER in a million years spend $200 on a haircut, that is absolutely ridiculous that people would actually spend that much. Anyway, back to Steven; I trust him to the point where I don't even tell him what I want anymore and he'll just work his magic. I always end up loving the color he chooses! He works at a different location and also works here. I will honestly go anywhere he goes. I do not ever want to switch to anybody else. Everyone else I've been to has messed up my haircut and I'm forever traumatized. A-OK at best. Decided to get my hair straightened. Was quoted $20 and I declined initially since I did not require a blowdry. I hesitantly agreed to $15. The salon is well laid out and spacious. The staff was friendly. Some of the girls looked alike; three of them had black medium-length wispy hair with colored highlights and I thought I was seeing triple. She cut my bangs too . . total damage was $25. My friend received a nice haircut for $15, his was totally worth it. Not the best straightening service (I prefer my salon back home) but decent enough that my friend said I looked nice. I had to pay in cash, which was WEIRD. Love, love my new hair!! Danny is my go-to from cut to color for years, probably one of the few that I trust with my hair. I'm fairly picky. This time around, I texted Danny that I wanted to go lighter. I got tired of the dark brown hair from 6 months ago, so Danny suggested the ombré instead of going total blonde because it will damage off my hair. Danny is always fast in his work, which is something that I love about him. It took him only 2 hours to go from dark brown to ashy ombré. I loved the after result!!! Well, I normally don't do reviews because I can't be bother most of the time, but recently I got a haircut here by Jazlie and she did an exceptional job. Jazlie has been my hair stylist for years, and the reason why I choose her is that she is very professional with her job. For example, she understand hair types, and will work with her clients to find a style that suites their hair type and facial structure. If you have a hair style in mind, she is willing to work with you and even give you honest advice if she thinks it wouldn't be a good idea. For this particular appointment, I came in looking for something fresh and clean, and Jazlie suggested maybe going with the undercut. I have been going to Phillip for over 10 years and now that I live in TX, I make it a point to get a cut while I am in town visiting. I have really thick hair and he does a fantastic job layering where my hair looks seamless. He starts the cut after the wash, dry, and straightening...which I find most salons, even the pricey ones, tend not to do. He is also a great colorist, he knows how to blend colors really well. Four months ago, I went here to dye my hair for the first time ever. I asked for a natural looking brown color. The lady showed me a book of hair colors and asked me to pick one out, and I did. Next thing you know, my hair was blonde & orange looking--NOTHING like the color I pointed to. On top of that, I had highlights. Now, I'm kinda tan, so can you imagine how horrible it looked on me? Then the guy (I think he's the manager) asked how I wanted my hair cut. I told him I wanted side bangs (because I ALWAYS get side bangs). He then tells me he can't do that because I have a pyramid head, followed by "don't worry I have a pyramid head too." I can see that HE had one, but mine was nowhere close to pyramid-shaped. Thanks for the insult! Then he said he'll do side-swept bangs instead. Oh, the look on his face when he fucked up. For the next month, my "bangs" stood up everytime time I brushed it & they wouldn't stay down! Do you know how frustrating it is to have your hair point up to the ceiling? Thank you oh-so-very-much. I've been going to Phillip for about 7 years. I followed him from his previous salon to Bellagio and every time I move or go out of town, I always regret going to a different stylist. I've read the reviews on here but I believe many of the outcome of dissatisfied customers are their own fault or the women whom used to work here. I believe that in order to get the exact or close to the exact cut you want, you'd really have to go over every single detail you want with your stylist, not to mention pictures really do help. I'm a creature of habit and just love my long hair and get the same cut every time I see Phillip. Sometimes I ask for more layers and sometimes I ask for a shorter cut, but every time, I take my time to thoroughly explain what I want to Phillip to see if he's on the same page. People may not realize that we may explain something one way, but the stylist interprets it differently. For instance, I used to ask Phillip for a "round V shape" for the back of my hair, but in his interpretation, a "round V shape" didn't make sense since there is no such thing as a round "V". A round "V" to him is actually a "U". So after not seeing him for a while since I moved to Florida, I came back on vacation to see him and he actually gave me a "U" cut in the back :(. So after explaining to him and showing him previous pictures of the past cuts he did for me, he told me what I wanted was a "pointier U shape". So there you go! One reason to always take lots of pictures of your favorite cut and be thorough with your stylist. I watch my stylist through the entirety of any of my cuts to make sure that they don't slip up. When I see them going for a chop that doesn't seem conducive to the style I'm going for, I immediately stop them and ask details about that particular execution they were about to perform. That in turn, more times than not, helped me get the style I wanted. I also think it's important to know what a stylist's strong points are. Some are great with short hair such as bobs, and some are great with long hair and point cuts, like Phillip. I LOVE Phillips point cuts and I haven't found a hair dresser as of today that can work the shagged point cuts like he can. Another factor I take into consideration is how comfortable a stylist is with their scissors. Sometimes I see older women, very daintily holding the scissors and comb while parting hair and that to me, is a good inclination that they aren't at "one" with the scissors. A great hair stylist feels at one with the scissors and gear and can move at lighting speed. Phillip is great with his scissors and sometimes he'll use two scissors, one in each hand, and cut my shagged point cuts, as if he's doing some Hibabchi show lol. But surprisingly, it turns out magnificent! So don't shy away from this salon due to the outdated reviews you see and low ratings due to previous employees. Remember that it's also the customer's responsibility to be very detailed with their chosen and or NEW stylist and MAKE SURE your stylist is able to correctly interpret what you want them to do BEFORE you allow them to start chopping away! Once they know what you like, you'll get the same results when you return. read more

I went to Bellagio the Salon today on a recommendation from my brother-in-law. There was plenty of parking, which was a major plus, I was expecting a crowded lot since it was a Saturday afternoon. There was no wait for the cut, as soon as I walked in I was seated. It seems like most (if not all) of the hairstylists' first language is Vietnamese, but it seemed like they were still able to understand what I wanted. Despite the language barrier, she seemed to know how I liked my hair cut and did so pretty well. My stylist was personable enough, tried making small talk and all, but the language barrier was a bit too steep to make any real attempts at conversation. Great deal too, $12 for a haircut and wash. The decor was clean and modern. If you like trance music, you'll love this place, they blast it loud and proud, along with the accompanying music videos (that never seem to make any sense). This review is for Jazlie: About a year ago my hairdresser moved to another state and left me high and dry:( With all the hair salons out there in Bolsa you would think I could easily find a replacement! Not true!!! For months I would ask for referrals and aimlessly give them a try while I secretly prayed to God for them to be good so that I can finally get my beautiful layered haircut I used to get with my beloved hairstylist that deserted me:( Time and time again, I would leave each salon disappointed that my hair did not come out the way I wanted! First time coming here, the result was amazing. I got the hair style that got so many compliment. After three months I went back to recut it again because I like the short hair length last time. I showed the same picture to Phillip. However, this time the result is a disappointment. He rushed the hair cut because he had three clients came in and want to get to them. The first time he spent around 15-20 min to make my hair perfect and this time is less than 5 min cutting, after wash and dry of course. I even made the appointment for this hair cut too. Now I'm on Yelp after a week of my hair cut to look for a new salon to fix my hair because someone rushed their job to get to more customers. Not coming back here. read more

Horrible experience! My dad had taken my sister and I to this new salon because he said that the owner of the place had done a demonstration on t.v. and was very good at what he does. When we first came to the place it was empty and they immediately took both of us to the shampooing station. The girl that was shampooing my hair had acrylic nails on or something because she was scratching up my scalp with my nails. My hair is already straight so I didn't see the need for straightening my hair but another assistant did it anyways which increased the price even more for something I didn't need or want. We had brought reference pictures of how we wanted our hair cut and styled and the owner said okay. So I thought that It was going to turn out atleast similiar to the picture. Next thing I knew he was going "scissor happy" on my hair, and the end result was nothing like the picture. I wanted layered bangs he only cut one thing layer and the rest of the hair wasnt cut evenly. I had to pull hair from the back to the front just to create an illusion of bangs that I was supposed to have. And he didn't style it like he was supposed to. I got charged around 30$ for it AND my dad made me give him a tip which i had reluctantly given him. My mom's friend who owns a salon does a waay better job and for cheaper. She cuts and styles my hair for only $17. I will not be coming back for a touch up. read more

I live in SF and this is the only place I go to get a haircut. I have gone to Philip for a few years now and I make it a point to not waste my money elsewhere. You know you got a great haircut when it still looks amazing 3-4 months after you get it trimmed. I heard there was some restructuring at the salon and untrained personnel are no longer working there which is great, as they were giving this salon a bad reputation. Rest assure, the issue is no longer an issue. Bottomline.... This place is worth your time and money. Go to Phillip; he's great! I followed him from his previous salon to this one. I've been coming to him for years because he's the only one that can tame my unruly, out of control, thick, afro-like hair! Since my hair is so difficult, I am extremely picky about who touches it, but I am very pleased with Phillip. The way he uses his scissors and cuts so fast is amazing. You can totally tell the difference between someone who's comfortable with what they do versus someone unprofessional. Another thing I think is important when it comes to seeing a hair stylist is COMMUNICATION! Pictures helps too. I always tell him exactly what I want and show him pictures. What I appreciate is his honesty. He will tell me what would work for me and wouldn't hesitate to also tell me what would NOT work for me. I always feel at ease coming to him; knowing that I wouldn't walk out regretting my cut. Recently, I wanted a new cut for the new year: short! It's been years and years since I've had a short cut and was quite nervous. Phillip wouldn't let me go as short as what I wanted (since he knew my unruly hair would be a pain in the ass to maintain afterwards and I truly thank him for that), but he worked with me to make it short enough where I got a new look!
