Valerie is an artist!! This is my first Review on yelp that I can remember.. ever!! I'm a middle aged fit athletic guy. I don't do " overly stylized haircuts. Valeria at bamboo Salon in San Clemente was amazing!! I feel like a cuckoo for making such a big deal about this but. I've been driving at least an hour and 10 minutes to get to the salon for a couple years now. My first haircut was really great but after that, I pretty much always well fuck it. I'm getting old !!!I've lived in big cities most of my life. I've gotten haircuts that cost as much as $500 or as little as $12 ever since I moved to the San Diego area I have failed to find someone who knows how to work with hair like mine. I basically gave up and figured it was just my hair and that's what 10 years did to my hair. But, I was wrong. Why? Because FINALLY, someone there understood the art of using point cutting, going into the hair and cutting patterns with scissors. I have been trying to explain or describe this kind of haircut that is almost standard with any professional that works under pressure, like on set of a movie or runway show. I'm sorry if any of the other girls read this because I don't want to offend anyone, anyway, I've never seen a guy there and they're always doing color and extensions and those blow dryers and I've never seen a guy there at all, anyway, when I got home and I was able to put my own product in and style it the way I can. I was elated FINALLY!!! After all these years living in and around San Diego. Someone understood how to freaking POINT CUT hair as an artist.. If I had this cut I probably wouldn't have cancelled a dinner I had with a friend I hadn't seen in many years. All because my stupid hair always looks like I get my cut at Supercuts.. and my friend is the CEO of a freakn Fortune 500 company. While I fiddle around with my stocks and few investments. Look I'm grateful for what I have. But, to sit around with the group I grew up with in LA and yeah fu:;k LA but they knew how to cut my hair. They somehow made it look like I went to a Barber but maybe on a commercial set. I know nothing about color or extensions, but I can tell you if you're a guy and you live anywhere around San Clemente go to Valerie at bamboo salon. I don't know the address look it up. My whole family comes here for haircuts and coloring. Truc is seriously awesome! She's super fast but really talented at the same time. As a busy mom, I live for that efficiency LOL. I don't want an hour-long haircut! What I love most is that even as my hair grows out, the layering still holds its shape perfectly. I went to get my pedicure at n&n nail spa a few shops down from bamboo which is amazing place , I saw the sign on bamboo $25 head massage and blow dry before I asked how much for round brush originally she said $10 but then later $15 which is understandable bc I have long hair so I didn't mind , however the relaxing hair spa is far from relaxing the best part was the extra charge for the blow dry I asked for a 90s blow dry and it looks great but don't recommend the hair spa massage it was very rushed ... my total was $40 and the only part enjoyable was the blow dry also I learned a lesson to ask if they take debit card before getting any service ... I took out my debit card and they apologized zelle I have a credit union zelle gets weird with .. so if you're looking for a good blow out I recommend definitely not even worth $25 relaxing spa head massage read more

had an amazing head spa experience at bamboo salon! was getting coffee next door and saw a deal for a 30 min head spa for $25 and wanted to give it a try. they were able to accommodate a same day appointment for my boyfriend and i! within the 30 min appointment, they washed our hair, along with a neck & shoulder massage and blow dry (also with option of face, but i opted out since i had makeup on) it was the best neck & shoulder massage i had gotten, and i left with my body & head feeling lighter and refreshed. the ladies were also so nice, i will 100% be back the next time i'm in OC! read more

She understood the style of hair that would fit my face but at the same time asked me questions to make sure the hair cut is what I'm looking for. Horrible. Total bait & switch. I called the owner to ask if she was available to trim my kids bangs. She said that she was free and to come on in. We rushed to get there and when we got there, she had every seat in her salon filled and tried to pawn her non-licensed worker on us to cut my kids hair.
