Bought XRT and it started having issues within one month of use. First a burned out motor and then two sets of gears. They did send me out a replacement motor but could only tell me it was driving style that was causing over heating. The very first use it damage the spur gear and I called again. I was told the same thing and to try dropping a tooth, so I did. The following use it damaged the new 19T spur gear. I checked the shaft that runs to the gear and it had play in the shaft both inside the RC and out. Turns out the plastic can flex which is why they offer an aluminum version. There's also a slot for third bearing to help hold down the shaft. I contacted Traxxas for the third and was told they dont know about this issue and its not covered under warrant. The rep sound annoyed when I asked about the part and how to possibly fix the issue. When I told him I'm done with them and he just hung up. $1700 in the hole for this RC plus the many issues its crazy way to treat your customers and its not the first time a rep sounded annoyed when asking too many questions. read more

We were trying to find out if our son would like to get into RC cars by purchasing him the La Trax Pre-runner. Christmas morning comes and he opens his truck and can't wait to drive it: So we charge it up and take it to the streets. About 4 mins later, it just stops producing power to the wheels but you can continue to hear the motor whine. With a tear struck in his eyes, he tells me that he had already done something to his brand new toy. About a week later, I have time to take it apart, and trust me this is no small task. Come to find out, Traxxas forgot to put the set in the motor staff's gear. Today I give them a call and tell them what happened and the guy tells me, we'll get that fixed for ya. We can get you that replacement part shipped right away or you can pack up the hundred parts that you took apart already, ship them back and wait a month to get it back. My son's Christmas present was ruined for a 85 cents part, maybe I can make it up to him with the same truck for next year. I get it though, I'd imagine a ton of people order cars, destroy them, then want Traxxas to send them a new car. This wasn't the situation though, and I even spent another hour out my day talking to a manager in hopes of resolving this. My idea was maybe I can go back to my son with an upgraded car and tell him that I know it sucks that this happened on Christmas, but check out this even cooler car. I didn't want this for free either, I just wanted some kind of discount on buying a more expensive car. They couldn't even entertain the thought. It saddens me that companies like this have resorted to so much greed they can't even admit when they may have messed up and do something to make it right. Do Better Traxxas!!! read more

Upon pulling up to their headquarters, it reminds me of something out of The Avengers. The staff inside the retail store are really nice and laid-back and helped answer any questions that I had. I will admit, at first, it was a bit overwhelming and a lot to take in and if you're really into RC's as a serious hobby then u better bring some money, kinda pricey. As far as customer service being rude or bad I haven't had anything like that happen to me but...I'm into RC's and know what to expect & can handle dealing with sales/techs ect.... All in all it was a cool place and glad I went by and bought some parts for my Maxx. read more

Bought my son a Traxxas for his birthday, he used once and it quit working after hearing a pop noise and burn smell. Took to the Traxxas Headquarters in McKinney to get it fixed since it was brand new and used one time. There's a bit of a wait, not too bad, staff helped us and fixed it right there. We went out door to sidewalk to let my son who was so excited try his fixed Traxxas. It worked for a few seconds then exact same issue. Turned around, walked right back in and guy said he'd fix again and also had to replace a "bent banana clip" that was ruining what he kept having to fix. We left again, tested out on sidewalk and it worked for what my son tested it with. Long over hour drive home, just to learn when we got home exact same issue again!!! For a brand new Traxxas to be worked on at headquarters twice to not get repaired is frustrating. Very sad little man of mine. He's been using his father's Traxxas to play with until we can make the long trip back over to Traxxas Headquarters. Store was fun to look through while we waited. read more

Update. More of your plastic, poorly designed parts broke in my kid's Trashsas. Now it has a total of 10 hours run time since May as it is constantly broken. He ran it into a tree. Oops. Well it stripped the Plastic gears in the steering servos. Did I say plastic? Yes I did. But don't worry Trashsas will be happy to sell you replacement metal ones (that apparently don't strip) and they are only $80. read more

‼ Been buying traxxas cars for the past 5 years. Just bought my 8th RC car from the website. My 3rd Max truck to be exact. Had factory defect issue with the differential. Mind you, I have bought three of the same exact trucks the first two had no issues. I am extremely familiar with this truck. Customer service made me pay for shipping back. Cost me $60 but ok yeah whatever. Get my truck back still has the same issue with another issue with shaking in the back. Called customer "Repair" service! Spoke to a man His name was "KEN" extremely rude and disrespectful. Tried to explain my issue again with the truck. He told me too bad. It is what it is. There's nothing he's gonna do for me. Told me I didn't know what I was talking about because he's worked there for 15+ years. I've always had high hopes and have always recommended Traxxas to many of my friends and clients. So sad to see, I was treated with such disrespect when I've spoke so highly about Traxxas and their customer service. I Still have the same issues with my car and they will not accept my car back for a full refund so basically wasted over $600. Heartbreaking because I feel like the relationship between myself and Traxxas has ended. Just Becareful if anyone is buying and has any kind of technical issues. You will have to pay for your own shipping back, and if the issue is not fixed, then you are stuck with the car! read more

My neighbor bought a Spartan Boat. He does not have a computer and is disabled. He called upon receipt of the boat to request an owners manual. Bob was told he would have to go on line. Again he is disabled and does not have a computer. He asked me to print the manual for him. The manual is full color with no printer friendly version.. I even called and asked if there was a better option, I was told no there was not. I have gone through two sets of ink cartridges. Each set costs me $57.00. Traxxas could have printed one off using a laser printer for pennies and mailed it to their customer who paid over $450.00 for their product. read more

I ordered my new traxxas slash along with fuel on the same order. The fuel was delivered to my door,but the truck was sent back due to address error. Apparently there was no street name on it. I do not know why they would not double check it before the ship it all the way out here to me reaches the ups facility by me. Then now they are shipping it all the way back. I called to try and have them reverse the shipment and get the address thing straightened out. All he said was over the phone I will see what I can do. Still have yet to here back from him. Very disappointed I got my nitro fuel but nothing to run it in. read more

Bought a Traxxas Rustler 4x4 lately and have driven it a lot for three months when the receiver gave up on me. Sent it in for checking, they agreed it was a goner and replaced it at no additional cost. I love their products (have many RC products) and had a great experience with customer service. The Rustler is a wonderfully engineered product and very sturdy, and will last for ever if treated with care. I run mine on 6000mha Lipo packs and it literally runs for over an hour at over 65mph. I am very happy with this product and will buy my next product from Traxxas again. Thank you for producing and selling such a wonderful product and providing fair and good customer service. I purchased the traxxas rustler 4x4 vxl. The truck is awesome but the main reason I bought it was for the self righting feature. Which does not work. I contacted traxxas and they had me do a few things all which didn't help. I also now have read many posts on traxxas own website about the feature not working. How can they win an award for something that doesn't work? There doesn't seem to be a fix for the problem so shouldn't traxxas give back the money people spent on a defective product. They don't care. It seems as though their newest firmware really sucks and is causing all the problems. I really hope they own it and release a fix Well I've sent the truck to traxxas for repair. They gave me a new xmitter, and new receiver with latest firmware. They claim it works. I hop Got my rustler back today and it still won't self right on my concret Didn't get the new receiver I was emailed about. However, the truck does self right on asphalt and other surfaces Only 4 stars since no promised xmitter. read more

My son and I both have traxxas cars and I ordered some new wheels to make the transition on my car with some Hex bolts. The Hex bolts do not work, they are the wrong size for the tire. I could not of known this until I opened the plastic on the wheels. They refuse to take back the wheels just because I opened the plastic. This is awful customer service and they are very rude. I would stay away from this company and try another one. I spend a great deal of money but will look elsewhere from now on. read more

My wife got me a Rustler, just an amazing machine. I proceeded to crash it, messed up the frontend real bad. We boxed it up and shipped it to them, they fixed and shipped it back for free, and now I'm back up and running. Great company, great service. Highly recommended. read more

My experience with Traxxas has been great I have bought two cars and hope to buy more there was one time that was pretty dangerous because I was out side with my slash 2wd with a 3,000mah nickel metal hydride battery when it started smoking and I immediately disconnected the battery from the car and took it out (no damage was done to the car) I went to my local hobby shop and they said I should call Customer service,so I did and when I told them about they said there was no warranty on those battery's therefore they couldn't do anything ,but then I told him the guy at the hobby shop said to call customer service to get a new battery he was nice enough to send me a new battery and it came in about 4 days for free read more

Not just a store, an experience! Wow, the Wonkland of Traxxas and it is an OCD dream too, so organized.! Every body color, upgrade part, every vehicle made, super impressive overall. The employees were experts and so nice and helpful, got the entire history of the company and just a great education on the hobby, the products, demonstration of the phone app for the charger. Spent an hour BSing and left with a Bandit VXL that is just stellar! Smashed it almost instantly at 60mph and no damage, handles well and fassssst! If you can't help someone, ok, fine, but they didn't even attempt to resolve the issue, just run arounds, utilizing loopholes in their fine print. This company is running some sort of criminal scams. I just got my income tax and a couple days later I see it was all stolen by this company. Over $900 taken out of my account and I now have negative balance. I also got an overdraft fee from the bank, and I am now behind a couple bills that are very time sensitive. I'm resolving it with the bank now, but even if I do get my money back, I will still feel the consequences of late payments among other things that the bank can't help me with. I have never heard of this company until I see over $900 taken out of my account one morning by this company. I even tried contacting them but they make it very hard to do so. Please listen, and stay away from anything this company has to offer. I would put the owners and supervisors in jail right now if it was up to me. I wish I could rate this lower than 1 star. It was never played with and the plastic wrapper was all that was removed from the box and Traxxas returned the car back to me and wouldn't refund me. Horrible, horrible company!!! I really don't understand how traxxas has a reputation for good support. My truck had a defect from the factory. Truck wont talk to app from factory because it's stuck on an update that keeps failing. Called traxxas customer service and their ONLY option was to ship it to them AT MY OWN Cost. I guess spending $600 for the truck was not enough. Even though the truck was clearly not working from factory. So I go back to my hobby shop and have them ship it in thru their dealer account. About a week later the truck comes back and it's supposed to be fixed. SUPRSE its still broken. So I call Traxxass get the guy up to speed and the guy checks on the RMA details from my local hobby shop and in the notes it states no problem found and they shipped it back to the hobby shop without calling anyone. Once again the only option is Ship it back to us. AGAIN AT MY OWN COST. The truck only has a 30 day warranty. So far I've played it once an the rest of the warranty it has spent it in transit going back and fourth from the factory. read more

I purchased my 1st T-Maxx 2.5 nitro 4 weeks ago and after the engine was broken-in the truck kept blowing glow plugs constantly after running for about 5 mins and wasn't shifting to 2nd gear! I called technical support for assistance and spoke to Chris explained to him in-depth what was going on with my truck and i have to say he was very professional and courteous. After he made sure i was using the genuine Traxxas glow plugs as well as the recommended 20 percent nitro fuel he told me to go ahead and ship it back to them for repair. P.S shipping was on the house. (Thumps up for the great customer support). Now this is where all the excitement starts as soon as they received my truck an email was sent to confirm the status and to inform me that they'll keep me posted as they further diagnose it. Four hours later i receive an email stating the following 1- the engine was replaced as a courtesy 2- the pipe was replaced as well and the transmission is now shifting properly. I try calling twice same thing happen. Very very very poor customer help service. We bought a $350 radio remote Traxxas car. It has been nothing but trouble from the first use. We had to send it back ($25 packaging) 3x and used it no more then 8 x. The company gave us minimal help and never a solution to the problem. Sure they gave us 2 new battery packs one which never worked and other only received 2 charges from and car is now collecting dust. I would never recommend this product or company to anyone. I have spent over $75 in shipping and endless hours trying to figure this car out. read more
