While I was excited about the variations offered on the lunch menu, I was not excited about the food I received. My food was nothing to write home about. I loved the idea of the half-and-half combo, whether soup, salad, or pasta. But I was very underwhelmed once I tasted it all. The first thing I tasted was the croutons on the Carsar salad (a tell-all). Were they going to be good, tasty, and remarkable? Were they going to be sautéed with a little olive oil and salt? No. They were dried up pieces of bread only. Then, I found the Caesar dressing not to be anything special either... But I was most disappointed inthe Cacio e Pepe pasta. The noodles were a bit overcooked and soggy. The cheese was liquidy rather than a thick sauce like it should be on this recipe; and the pepper was almost nonexistent. The Pepe in Cacio e Pepe is Pepper! on the other hand, the focaccia was good and the gnocchi was well cooked. So, a mixed bag. Fortunately, the very kind Manager switched out the pasta for me, and I will try that again at home. read more

Gosh it's nice to luck into a place and have it turn out. I live intown & rarely make it to the Sandy Springs area but a friend with a birthday asked me to meet her there....I researched & found this Italian gem open for only its 3rd day! Beautiful interior (with comfortable seats), you can really have a conversation here....the bartenders were personable fellows who made a very good Classic Negroni....our waiter was perhaps a bit nervous but very attentive....and the pastas were quite good. We started out with a great fresh salad made with watermelon, Mozzarella di Bufala, and olive oil. Then onto a surprisingly good vegan entree -- Kale Pesto pasta with pumpkin seeds. the chef walked around a bit -- i didn't get his name but he had a lovely italian accent. I loved this place! Great place for a date night. For apps we got the bread service, which isn't advertised so you have to ask, and I think free because we weren't charged for it. The bread was really good and came with oil. We also got the Mushroom Bruschetta. This was super tasty, and the herbs on top added a bit more earthiness. Not a fan of mushrooms usually, but I really enjoyed this dish. Definitely try! For mains we got cacio e pepe, which was cheesy and peppery. It could have had a bit more flavor. We also tried the mezzalune which was super good. The brown butter sauce was well done and flavorful. The filling had spinach and ricotta and was creamy. Their drinks are good too. So before I wrote this I took the time to read some of their amazing reviews. Yes, it has an amazing atmosphere but that is where it ends. I don't expect the average person to have the same palette as I do for Italian food. I'm sixty something years old, grew up in New York with Italian parents. Have been exposed to all regions of italian cooking. If you cannot execute the simple execution of salting your pasta water...game over! By the way we sat at the bar and the bartender used the excuse of " We have a party of 60 tonight." That's supposed to be an excuse why my service sucks! Not my problem, I'm sitting at the bar looking right at you. I'm giving two stars because they comped part of my check. I'm not that guy that complains to get the bill reduced, but I am that guy that expects the level of service and quality you want to charge me for. read more

We came in at 8 on a reservation and the restaurant was starting to empty out. The Christmas decorations above were stunning but that required a different reservation. Service was impeccable. Paul waited on us and was able to discreetly train another server who was shadowing him. He was attentive without being distracting and honest with his recommendations which is always a breath of fresh air. The food was good but not great across the board. I loved the Arancini but the other dishes were all heavy on salt. We had the Fra Diovolo, Risotto and Cioppino. All were delicious less the salt but just needs a bit more on the execution. Definitely request the upstairs patio-- there was a DJ, the vibes were right, and it's covered, so just in case the weather is bad, you're still guaranteed to have a good time. They served the proteins we ordered for the pasta on a separate plate and it was cold by the time it was added to our dish. The truffle add-on is $20 so keep that in mind when ordering. Tried Tre Vele for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was deep Italian with innovative twists. The spinach salad with good chunks of goat cheese added succulent, juicy cherries. The honey ricotta was like spreading the inside of a cannoli on grilled Nan. I had squash tortellini, which was good, but not great. The pasta was too Al dente, and the squash overpowered a very delicious sauce. The tiramisu was perfect, but then I like it with lots of mascarpone and liquor. The only thing that needs improvement is the ambience. It felt like I was at a market, more than a restaurant. We had an incredible Galentines evening at Tre Vele. I ordered the table side Cacio E Pepe with shrimp, and it was delicious!! It's a bit on the pricy side ($36 before you add in a meat), but I guess there's an added fee built in for the "experience" aspect. Overall, it was still worth it to me! I also indulged in an espresso martini that the bartender made specific to my ask which was for it to be creamy. This was my first visit and I will be back! Even through the parking lot looks small, they offer valet, and you can really use the whole area up by Kroger. I didn't realize it was the same restaurant with a new look. The look is interesting ON VIDEO but in person, it's very cheap looking. The hostess was standing at the hostess stand with a nail file filing her nails. In a restaurant where food is being served and eaten??? Really??? Our server was very nice, but she was busy. My family and I came here last Thursday night for dinner. We made a reservation for 6 people for 5:45pm. I had to call to make the reservation. They also required to put down a credit card. I think with a smaller group, you can just make the reservation online and they don't require a card. The inside is trendy and modern. Lots of natural light. They have a little market inside as well selling desserts and fresh pasta. Will have to return for that! Our waiter was really nice and patient with our large group. We started with wine and some cocktails. I got the spicy tequila cocktail - it was fabulous! They have a good wine selection as well. We didn't get an appetizers. We each got an entree. We got the carbonara, pappardelle with lamb ragu, chicken entree, bianco pizza and the pepperoni pizza. The food took a while to come out. It was all quite tasty. The carbonara wasn't my favorite. But the pappardelle was delicious. The pepperoni pizza was my favorite of the two. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake and the chocolate torte. The torte was super rich but quite tasty.
