Time warp to the 1960's In a Good Way.... Kudos to the lady who owns and Loves Treasure Island. It may have been in the 70's since our last visit, and we shall soon return. Ambience of a 1960's steak house, and great service, and thankfully with a full bar, very quiet. If one has not been in a while, so visit and enjoy. A refreshing relief from the Loud sports bar, and interesting menu and food. Corn Fritter with Maple Syrup is highly recommended and now a favorite of my wife's. Seafood Platter - $29.95 - One deviled crab in the shell, two jumbo fried shrimp, two frog legs, three fried scallops and one piece of cod is listed as today's catch, but seems to be frozen, and can only be fried; we passed of this dish. Ribeye is Not among the Best in Dayton, but is acceptable - we prefer a much thicker Ribeye. An excellent surprise is the Center Cut Pork Chops (2) $34.95. My wife feasted on this, and took second chop home -- very good choice. Choices - yes and abundance of "something" that looked interesting, and this is reason for our return. The setting in lots of concrete and amongst factories is not inviting, but park the car and explore. First level is dark, and we like this. Maneuver through the quiet, filled bar to the very small dining area, and view the menu. There is a sandwich/salad portion to the menu, but this held no interest to us. After living in the Dayton area my whole life, I don't know how I had never been to Treasure Island until fairly recently when my mother-in-law took us there. My parents went there occasionally in the 1970s, and from the look of the restaurant, they have not updated the decor since then. I feel like it probably went through being terribly out of style and now circled back around to being nostalgic, fun, and kitschy. My mil thought they would be crowded and didn't want to wait so we went crazy early, 4:45pm on a Thursday...they were not busy at all! Haha We were seated right away and immediately had our water glasses filled and baskets of crackers and delicious fresh bread on the table. Our server was very friendly and attentive and there was also a second employee who kept our drinks filled and dishes cleared, as needed. Between our table of 5, some of the dishes were hit or miss but most were good. I got the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer which were very rubbery but the flavor was ok. I have lived in Dayton my whole life and this was my first time trying Treasure Island. Old school place but the large bar with sunken bartender area was pretty cool. Saturday night was Prime Rib special and the it was a very large tasty cut. Went for the heavy cut, about all I could handle. The service from hostess to waitress was terrible. The food was mediocre at best. Spinach/artichoke dip was inedible and sent back. My wife's salmon was so fishy she couldn't eat it. Corn fritter was awful. Went on a Wednesday night and the special was "meatloaf". Now I like meatloaf but I don't go out to a supper club to eat meatloaf. That's just weird. A pretty popular place for locals in the area. We sat at the bar since the dining area was packed. It seemed like everyone at the bar knew each other as they were conversing the entire time across the way. Got the prime rib sandwich on a recommendation from the lady sitting next to me. Food is always good, but server's seem very disengaged, very disinterested in being there let alone take care of their customers. Water and soft drinks are served in smaller glasses and they don't come to see if you need a refill. The bread is supposed to come with dinners, yet they don't bring it, you have to ask for it. This isn't a one-time experience, this has been the experience every time we have dined in. Newly renovated. Nice paint job outside. Beautiful woodwork inside. Dark romantic nostalgic ambiance. Five stars so far. Service and food were sub par. I was really hoping for attentive waitstaff and home cooked meals. Instead for lunch today we found overwhelmed waitresses and unimpressive food Presentation and taste. Sad. Hire more staff and better cooks if you're going to spend all that money to refurbish! We won't be back unless someone tells us there's been improvements. read more

Just ate at Treasure Island and my husband and I ordered the Monday special, broasted chicken with onion rings. The onion rings were crispy burnt, the chicken pieces were small, not warm and greasy, like it had been cooked for a while and thrown back in the fryer. Our friend had the Bar special, tomato with seafood salad. The seafood salad was more macaroni and very little seafood. We'll go back, but will stay away from those specials. Very disappointed. Had this on the list for a long time. With the extensive seafood options it made sense to check it out on a Friday- glad we did! Such an elegant atmosphere I'd say this was the finest ambiance of any restaurant I've yet experienced since moving to neighboring Preble County. I'm in love with the sunken bar and those swivel captain's chairs. Friendly mature crowd and it was pretty lively though still early when we arrived. Had a cocktail at the bar while waiting to be seated which turned out to be only about 10 minutes though we had been told 20. Very low lights and plush feel in both the bar and main dining room. Nautical touches throughout and somehow the place actually has the feel of a ship. We were seated in the second dining room which is more brightly lit and not as classy classic as the rest of the joint, but still high end. We shared a wondrous shrimp cocktail with five huge fresh firm shrimp. I had the scallops which were sweet, plump and tasty, and such a generous portion. Side salad was nothing to write home about, especially since I opted for O&V. My husband got the house dressing which I tasted and it's mind blowing. Next time! He also had the frog legs and proclaimed them five-star, with plenty of meat. The onion rings were very special, the veggie side, not so much. But I came for the scallops and was very satisfied. The bread basket had warm pumpernickel and Tuscan style slices, so delicious. Wait staff were very well trained, well attired and polite. Parking lot was a bit of a squeeze but there are spots on the street. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. This is a place to dress up for. Definitely plan to return. read more

We stopped by Treasure Island Supper Club on Saturday night, my Mom was craving Prime Rib and its the restaurant's special on Friday and Saturday night. Walking into the restaurant is like stepping back to the mid 70's with the decor, true Mid-Century Modern decor, each booth has a cool lamp and so much retro decor, is it 2023 or 1973? Friendly hostess greeted us and seated us right away, they have a large round bar where lots were gathered enjoying drinks. Once seated at a table in the main dining area our waitress came by to check on a drink order, a busboy provided bread, crackers and water at our table. They have an extensive menu, lots of seafood, something for everyone as well as steaks, chicken and sandwiches. Dinners come with a iceburg lettuce salad with house dressing (sweet & sour) or a variety of homemade dressings, and a side. My Mom ordered the prime rib and they have a regular portion and an extra thick portion. My Dad enjoyed a ribeye with a huge sweet potato and I enjoyed an 8oz filet with potato boat (garlic mashed potatoes with cheese), which was delicious. Throughout the dinner I was so impressed with the busboy who tended to all of the tables in our area, he was filling waters, picking up plates, replenishing bread, getting the waitress when we needed her, which the restaurant did completely fill up, this is something you don't normally see anymore in restaurants, which helped the dining experience. Note its a popular location after UD basketball games, many came to enjoy a sandwich or dinner after the game. Overall what a wonderful time and the prime rib portion is huge, they asked if we wanted desserts, but we were so full. We were at Treasure Island Supper Club for our anniversary and what a great experience....all the best parts of this "Dayton Treasure" have been carried on by new ownership who have made a lifelong, family investment in this place! Service was outstanding (CASEY was our server and REESE was part of our wait staff), filet mignon and salmon were cooked perfectly (and generous portions)...also nice to see traditional staples preserved (shrimp cocktail, frog legs, potato boat, corn fritters) and on top of that well-kept, nautical theme vintage decor! We were seated immediately on a Friday evening at 8 pm and were treated like VIPs. Treasure Island is a MUST TRY for anyone who's tired of chain restaurants and wants a true dining experience! Okay folks, this place is old school and hits the spot! You automatically get bread and butter when you sit down. We've had the stuff mushrooms (amazing) and bacon wrapped scallops (amazing) for appetizers. As for meals...the steak is always cooked perfectly and the sweet potato melts in your mouth...but my favorite thing here is the fried pork tenderloin. It's less than $12 for a huge, perfectly seasoned and cooked pork tendie! It comes with chips, which is fine because their fries aren't great. This is a date night MUST. The place is clean, atmosphere is rich and calming and the bar is dazzling with Caribbean Sea colors. It's an older crowd but that just means better company. The last time we were here the server was a bit rude but might be my imagination. I'll keep coming back here as long as they keep serving the tenderloin! read more

Zero People at the bar, always full, I've never seen it empty....ever. Only 2 tables with customers. Bread still looks store bought. Salad half of what its always been. Monday night Boosted chicken. Preparing as needed (15min wait) Always prepped and ready in the past. Please clean your drains. Ive never seen any bugs gnats before. I know I smacked a half dozen during the meal. When I left, group of 4, non regulars, at the bar... normally by 6pm it's full of regulars. So you buy an extremely busy restaurant and bar, let go all of the staff, change up the menu and how things are prepared, and drive away all the regulars. Went here not too long ago to see if the service was any better. Last time after an hour wait we got up and left. This time service was prompt and cordial. We ordered the special; cod with pasta salad and fruit. $15. Neither of us wanted the sides so we asked if we could substitute. No problem. Bill came and we were charged $11.95 each for a cod sandwich and $4.95 for each side we substituted!!!! Next time tell us there is an upcharge to substitute. Don't just say, sure you can, no problem. The 2 of us were seated right away at 5:30 on a Saturday evening. Hostess was great. They weren't busy. Server was slow to approach, but bussers had water and bread right away. Ordered a margarita with salt. Was asked if " I wanted gin or vodka?" Finally received a margarita and it was mostly sprite, which is never an ingredient. Appetizer was great. Bacon wrapped scallops. Twice the price and two less than before. Dinner was good. Ordered another margarita and asked for no sprite in it. Just original recipe. Such A terrible meal. It cost me 158.00 plus 25.00 tip. The waitress with long gray hair. Seem to know longer be interested in us once 4 of 7 people older people wanted just water. Also the four ladies ordered the shrimp/crab salad A 17.00 salad mind you. Another lady ordered a steak medium well. It came out very dry but red and rare in the middle. My brother got the 40.00 mostly fat ribeye steak which his dog loved. I ordered the special bbq chicken and porkchop. It was ok. The waitress never did refill our drinks. I had to get another ladies attention to assit with it. Our waitress was busy helping out at the cash register with a problem from another waitress up there had and ignoring us. Finally when she did come to the table i told her about the steak being being rare but was suppose to be med.well. she just looked puzzeled at me. Then went and cleared another table. I worked for GM so we came to treasure island alot. Its sad to see how this restaurant has gone down hill. They even removed the treasure stuff from under the table. Replaced it with golf stuff. Wow, I had no idea there were new owners but that explains a lot! We ordered our normal salad entrees and immediately knew something was vastly different. The shrimp was no longer the characteristically large, fancy shrimp. The cheese looks like it came from a bag and no longer hand shredded from a block of cheddar. The dressing seemed watered down and only half the normal amount was provided. Obviously, cost cutting corners have been made and it will cost you loyal customers. read more
