I found him thanks to Yelp, and noticed he was local to my home and quickly reached out regarding my unfavorable damage to my vintage LV wallet. This 2004 coin purse wallet combo has seen better days, and when my wallet was rejected for repairs from the original source, I didn't want to give up on it. Paul asked me to send pictures of the damages so he could quote me properly due to the amount of work involved. We agreed on a price and even the amount I had to leave for deposit wasn't an issue. He wanted to make sure that I would trust his judgement and value his work. Paul said to give him a week and he delivered it to me in 5 days time! Be sure to always ask him what the store hours are, as he unfortunately is experiencing flood damages to his work space. How he was still able to fix this wallet for me in such dire conditions, I'll never know. He's chatty and friendly, and could use more foot traffic as this kind of work is clearly dying in the industry. He seamless repaired my coin purse compartment that kept leaking coins all over my bag, as well as the bills compartment that was fatigued. The work is perfect; beat that 5th ave! But when I (finally) switched over to my fall shoes that I hadn't seen since before the pandemic, because there was no where to go, I found a couple pairs of boots that needed some love. I have to admit, I almost walked out of here and gave up a few times. When I came in, Bob immediately said he couldn't help me and acted like he didn't want my business. I was shocked to encounter this kind of treatment, since the reviews were so good. But I needed my shoes repaired, so I dug in a little deeper on why he felt he couldn't repair them and we were able to come up with a way to fix both pairs. He at one point told me he couldn't polish my white boots and gestured to all the colors of polish he had, and I was the one who picked out the "vanilla" he ended up using that matched perfectly. Again, the vibe was he didn't even want to try to find a solution to my shoe repair needs. The next shock was the price - $40 to fix each pair! This was more than I had paid for both shoes, because one pair were 90s vintage given to me by mom mom and the other were a beautiful pair of cowboy boots given to me by a friend. Both needed a heel replacement and a little polish. The 90s vintage ones needed some gluing on the heel. Again, I almost walked out, but I gave him my money and hoped for the best. What I got was actually a pretty good shoe repair. Was it $40 worth? Not really. But I am happy with the result. Bob was also MUCH nicer when I came back. And the shoes were done a day early, which was great. I think all things considered, I would come back here, because I know they do a good job. Almost didn't get there, though. I hope I don't encounter the same customer service issues next time.
