In November 2019 I had TREC replace the siding on my house. Six months after installation, June 2020, and after a few days of 100' heat, the siding on my house started to warp. I contacted TREC about this and was told it is a warranty issue and TREC would take care of it. Six months after being told my house would be fixed, I am still with warped siding and now I am being dodge by the company. I would not recommend this company to anyone, as I now feel I am stuck with trying to get another company to do the repairs. I also have a loose piece on the front of the house that comes loose with the wind. I was told by Justin from TREC that it was cut too short and it should be replaced. After talking to another siding company there is a piece that should have been put there to prevent that from happening. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Just take a look.

In August 2019 we had a TREC representative come out and provide us with a quote for: a large deck; patio made with pavers; a paved driveway extension with steps leading down to the backyard; sliding doors changed to French doors; and a fence. The project was estimated to be fully completed by Thanksgiving; however, there were weather constraints and the company had many projects going at the same time. We understood the time and weather hurdles, but had not thought about those before going forward with the project, so it's just something to keep in mind for large-scale projects. We fully finished the project early April 2020 and overall we are very happy with the result! It's the perfect time to enjoy being outdoors and we get many compliments from neighbors. We rated the overall project a 4/5 only because with a project this big there were a few minor issues along the way- for example, one of the deck posts was installed slightly too close to our home so the cap is different than the others but it's not in a visible position so it's not noticeable unless you examine each one. Another minor issue was a slight change to the location of structural beams on the patio which changed the size and location of the deck steps. This caused a delay in finishing the deck since the steps had to be redone. This seemed to be just a slight miscommunication between the employees working on the deck and the company blueprint. However, it was an issue that was addressed quickly. We would, though, highly recommend TREC because of the owner's, Justin's, professionalism and commitment time ensuring customer satisfaction. We were deeply impressed with the way he handled each of our concerns. It was comforting to know that behind all of this there is an owner who stands behind the quality of the work and responds with great professionalism. Justin addressed our issues very quickly, including the deck post and deck steps, and was very responsive. He provided us with explanations and recommendations for changes in the project as well which we appreciated since this was the first big project we've done in our home. We have shared a before and after of our home project for reference!

He is an excellent communicator, and his workers were not only courteous but very skilled at their respective jobs. He was able to finish my basement in a timely manner with high-quality materials. I could not be happier with the work Brown's Custom Contracting did within my home. Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. I'm very pleased with the additional space my family has been given, and there isn't a single rough edge in the room. Jim's guys are the best and I highly recommend his service to anyone looking to improve their homes. I have included pictures of the job before and after just so you can see the quality of work.

We hired Brown's for the rebuild of our deck after moving into our new home. It took a while to…read morecoordinate a time to meet with Jim, but he was very professional right from the start and provided the most competitive pricing for the job. As a property manager myself, I appreciated his clean contracting process - he'll print out two copies so both you and he can sign, he'll document the down payment amount and check number (and sign), he'll get his insurance agent to provide you with a COI right after, and keep you updated regularly throughout the project and will document any change orders with updated payment schedules. Our deck project became complicated by obvious grading/drainage issues and sunken footers at the adjacent porch that the deck is flush to, which caused our project cost to increase significantly. Some would say that the change in scope is a pricing tactic, and maybe it is for some, but not Jim. He carefully explained and showed us the issues, then helped prioritize them so we knew what really needed to be addressed and what could wait. His sub was great - always on time, productive as hell, and maintained a tidy worksite. You could tell the sub really cared about their work and Jim made it a point to stop by to check in. The end result is a beautiful deck that we cannot wait to furnish and use. The experience with Jim was so great that we will call him when we're ready to bid out our master bath and kitchen reno. He's a good human.

After several estimates (where many of the estimators completely disregarded our needs) John from Five Star Deck Services arrived. He shared with us that we could absolutely keep the deck design we loved, and they would replace the rotten boards, supports et al, pressure wash and then stain the deck for a completely reasonable price within our budget. The most important thing was John was authentic and honest. He wasn't blowing sunshine. Fast forward and Mike and the Five Star Deck Services Team arrived to get to work. Some adjustments had to be made to our estimate, as structural concerns were uncovered- hence it is called an 'estimate' and we were shown the detritus that compromised the deck. We agreed to new pricing - still reasonable. The guys got to work a few days later and they were absolutely amazing. The dedication to "Five Star" and making sure my family was safe, happy with our with our choice to keep our design, and 100% confident in the integrity of the work done. Mike, McKenzie and team (even John) worked in the extreme heat to finish our deck. They were diligent, focused and most of all faithful to the quality and longevity of the deck and their service. In this day and age, the willingness to stand on integrity and principles is rare. Hire Five Star Deck Services if you want authentic, true craftsmen that actually care about the end result, not only the bottom line.

I knew my deck needed some TLC but I didn't know exactly what it needed or where to turn. After my sabbatical, I did a google search and magically they appeared - We Restore Decks popped up. I thought, wow - this place might actually be able to help me. I put a call in and spoke to the office manager, Megan aka Miss Friendly Customer Service Pants - Herself! She thoroughly listened to my deck concerns and immediately scheduled Morgan to come out and give me an estimate. SN: she encouraged my habit of including several emojis throughout my emails and that made me like her that much more! She's extremely personable! A few days later, Morgan came out to measure and take a closer look at my deck. He broke down all of the necessary steps that would be required to have my deck looking in pristine condition. Morgan was also extremely customer service oriented. I also found him to be extremely wise - he's a Washington Redskins fan like myself! (wink) He sent me a very reasonable estimate that night and Megan contacted me a few days later to put down a deposit and walk me through the next steps. Since treating a deck is weather dependent and they had a few jobs ahead of me, I couldn't get my work done ASAP, which was fine by me because we're in the middle of a Pandemic and I have nothing but time on my hands, plus I had to get my HOA's approval. In the mean and between time, I was able to reach out to Megan with any lingering questions that remained. Another little nugget of customer service that I appreciated was that every time I received an email from We Restore Decks, they included all of the steps my deck was going to receive while being restored. It was never any question of what was going to be done, what to expect next, or the process because it was all written down in black and white. Of course the guys were there to answer any questions I had or go over any final details, but I still had an understanding of the process prior to them even coming out. I received a text and email before the on-site staff came out (not hired contractors...which was a huge plus) so I was able to remove any items that would be in the way from my deck. The guys came out and after day 1 I was hugely impressed! John, To'Mas and Kevin worked wonders on my deck! My deck looked like a totally new deck. After day 2, my deck looked like I was cheating on it with a newer deck! I am extremely pleased with my deck and couldn't have asked for a better company to do the job. I can now entertain and relax on my deck with ease and comfort! A HUGE THANK YOU to the entire staff at We Restore Decks for making this project such an easy and painless process! If I could, I'd give them 10 stars!
