From chocolate creations to tea cups and cutlery to cute house decor, you can find thoughtful and unique gifts for everyone on your list. Tried two dark hot chocolates. The regular dark hot chocolate was simple and sweet. The pistachio dark hot chocolate had whipped cream and crushed pistachios on top. Besides that, there was no other pistachio flavor, which was disappointing and defeated the purpose of getting a seasonal specialty drink such as pistachio hot chocolate. The hot chocolates were more on the liquidy side, and I would've preferred for them to be thicker and to have a more pronounced flavor of chocolate. A bit too sweet for my liking, especially considering that we got dark chocolate. You'll be satisfied and done after a few sips due to how sugary this drink is. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Tree of Chocolate has an amazing selection of global chocolates. Some are made in the store, some come from Belgium and many other countries around the world. I shopped there for a High Tea Party I am hosting (I want each of my guests to leave with a sweet treat). While I was there, I overheard another customer say "Every time I come in I am surprised with a new chocolate. It is so much fun to come and explore!" Another customer came in to get a cup of coffee and a chocolate as a treat to herself. As I was paying, I decided to treat myself to a chocolate that never made it home! read more

Tree of Chocolate is a wonderful gem of a chocolate shop with its beautiful curated products and lovely staff. The quality and craftsmanship of the products are worth every penny (They hand make many of their products!) I've been here many times and loved everything I've tried. Adorable chocolate shop located in a quaint building. Beautifully decorated and with so many options. There is typical chocolate shop options, bagged candies, chocolate-dipped nuts and caramels, and then the showcase.. oh my. To the right are a huge assortment of truffles.. amazing! They look small but they pack a huge punch. So rich and decadent To the left are chocolate dipped confections such as almond bars, coconut, pretzels and interesting items like honeycomb. For each dipped ingredient, you have a choice of milk or dark chocolate. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. I found this little shop while walking down Main Street looking for a restaurant to eat dinner. The shop itself was kind of neat looking so I decided to stop in. The restaurant was very clean and the display looked fantastic. the girl behind the counter was very friendly and willing to offer suggestions on which things to try. I have paid $2 per chocolate on several occasions and I've never been disappointed, but this time it was just okay. The flavors were not that varied and unless you chose a berry vs ganache vs caramel filling, they tasted a lot alike. Overall just an average chocolate experience. I purchased 10 pieces for $21. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible. read more

PROS: This shop always has a nice staff and is conveniently located in the heart of Nyack. They have a huge variety of chocolate of all different types and they're clean CONS: The place is cramped so its hard to move around when people are in it and the chocolate is overpriced. I understand its good quality chocolate but I don't think the prices are where they're suppose to be OVERALL: I would come to this shop and get something if it was a gift for someone that loves chocolate. What a cute chocolatier! They limit the number of people in store so there was a bit wait to go inside. Wide selections of chocolates - they even have a lot liquor chocolates too for those who like their chocolate boozy! Tried the espresso bean chocolate and it was STRONG!! Very distinctive espresso flavor blended with chocolate. I ate half a bag in the afternoon and that kept me up the whole night! lol - next time when I need to pull an all-nighter, I will be getting these espresso chocolates instead of energy drinks! read more

Great chocolate and candy shop. Everything is packaged in great bags and boxes. The owner puts a lot of work into the packaging to make it perfect for gifts. The prices may seem high, like 10 chocolate may be $20, but it's still worth it. Most of these high priced chocolate cost a lot and are shipped 3000 miles so high prices are expected. Neighborhood gem in downtown Nyack that has a wonderful array of chocolates as well as other candies and whimsical household items.

I wandered past and stopped in. No sign tells you where the chocolate is from or has any information. When asked if they made the chocolate themselves, the person behind the chocolate counter grudgingly said: Belgium, and that some was made themselves. I tried 3 different types of chocolate: dark chocolate almond bark, truffle, and butter crunch. The butter crunch and almond bark were both store created, and were, at best, mediocre: the chocolate in the almond bark did not have very good flavor - tasted like a low quality supermarket or candy bar chocolate of significantly less than 60%. The butter crunch simply had no flavor. The two truffles were fine (and maybe even good) but a little sweet. There are other places in the area that have much better chocolate. This is what my son and I refer to as the local "sweet shop" which we visit often for various confections. This place has a magical feel and friendly staff. The chocolates come in many varieties to please all sweet lovers. I recently was able to create my great friend a vegan friendly basket filled with chocolates and other delicious treats. The staff wrapped it beautifully and helped out with the details. I hope to take my son to the sweet shop for many years to come and that it becomes of family tradition for his children as well. read more

For a gourmet chocolate place I rather make the trek into NYC. There are no prices listed on their individual chocolates which isn't exactly helpful. My first time I ended up spending $24 on 6 pieces of chocolate. I also purchased a few pieces of marzipan I asked if they were flavored like the fruits they represented or if they were plain, she assured me they were flavored, but when I tasted them they were not at all just plain marzipan. I grabbed a few pieces for a dinner party and asked to get an assortment of chocolates that weren't too sweet, ended up with a few cherry cordials that were way too sweet for the host. I understand that this place is new but if I'm spending $$ I want a knowledgeable employee to help me make the best selections. Their sales assistant stated their chocolate is homemade and after selecting my pieces and went to the register I asked the cashier, I think the owner, how they could make chocolate in such a small place. Their chocolate is not 100% homemade by them as I was led to believe when I was being served. It is brought in and handmade by other companies around the US. Their assortment of foreign chocolate bars is nice and they do have some homegoods to decor a kitchen or to serve as gifts but I will be going elsewhere for my chocolate fix. read more

I just left this place and am SHOCKED. I was shopping with my mom and friend for Christmas gifts and saw the cutest mug. I reached to grab it, and because the store was so heinously messy, could not tell that the shelf I grabbed it from was "inventory," and the rudest woman working the register proceeded to berate me for minutes about taking from her bottom shelf. She spoke to me like I was five years old and took all of the merchandise from my hands. Then she proceeded to talk about me to the others working there. She was insane. Never go here. read more

Really not impressed with this place. First, the chocolate really wasn't that great. Two of the three pieces we got were not memorable - tasted like Hershey's. Second, the woman working there was totally unfamiliar with the products. Not only could she not help guide us to the kinds of chocolates we wanted, but she got confused when we asked for specific items by name. We literally read the names off the labels on the shelf and she would reach for the wrong chocolates. She did this for every single piece we ordered. Third, it would really be nice to have prices on the chocolates. I would forgive this if not for the other two issues, but for us it was yet another annoying aspect of an unpleasant visit. read more

An accidental visit to a small boutique business that made me really happy. Was it nostalgia? Was it the chocolate? Not really sure. How far I would have had to travel to get vegan chocolates and Belgian quality chocolates. This place could easily have been a chain store or starbucks but it was not. I am not going to apologize for finding a cute niche store (it was around Easter when I found this place) and they delivered with some quality product and service. Did they have all the right people and service of a giant franchise business where everyone and everything is mass produced, No. They had real people working with you. We visited the Nyack location on S. Broadway during a weekend trip. And let me just say, the raspberry cordials are AMAZING! Sadly, that was the highlight of our experience. When we walked into the shop, we noticed a slight musty odor- like you get when you walk into your grandmother's attic. It ended up being a problem. As others have said, there were no prices on the individual items in the chocolate case. Items were bagged then individually and tied with a ribbon, which seemed wasteful and was time consuming since we purchased a variety of items. The only clerk, who wasn't very friendly, did not improve over the course of our transaction. When we got back to our hotel and sampled our purchases, we found that some of the chocolates had absorbed the mustiness of the shop and were inedible. It was particularly prevalent in the chocolates with graham crackers and ones with chopped nuts which we ended up throwing away. read more
