Stopped in for lunch. The Chicken Tikka Bowl is a perfect lunch! Comfortable seating tables and booths. Great value too.

What a treat! My…read morefriend and I grabbed an early dinner for the first time at The Pier, it won't be the last time. We started our dinner with a shared plate of fried calamari. The calamari was tender and the coating was crispy. A perfect appetizer. I enjoyed, a delicious meal of Littleneck Clam Linguine, which I've been talking about ever since. My partner dined on the fresh fish of the day and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Everyone we came in contact with, from the gracious woman who seated us to Beth our helpful and friendly server made us feel welcome. Can't wait to return.

I thought it was an order at the counter and then find a seat restaurant so I was disappointed when they said there were reservations and they couldn't accommodate our party of two. When I had looked on the website, there was no place to make a reservation so I was surprised by this. I wish it had been more clear. Additionally, there was a sign to inform customers that the prices on the menu would be higher due to increased costs. The staff was friendly and asked if we wanted to order takeout instead- which we did. However, one of the reasons I chose this place was because I thought it was a casual counter style restaurant, that would have lower prices. I do realize seafood is expensive, but I would've chosen a seafood restaurant that would allow us to sit down. We ordered lobster rolls Connecticut style. They were fantastic and crabcakes, which were full of crab. The food was 5 stars but the lack of info about reservations coupled with the increased prices is 3 stars so I am settling on 4 stars. This restaurant is good as long as you know to make reservations and expect higher prices.

Gyuzo Japanese BBQ really is a fun experience. We ate plenty, enjoyed it all, and... my son learned…read morehow to grill. We opted for the Essentials package this time. While I do love the duck breast and lamb chops included with the Classic package, we all felt Essentials was enough for this visit. Celia was our waitress. While things were a little slow getting started, once our first order went in, the food started flying out. Everything we ordered throughout the evening arrived much faster than it did on my previous visit. The menu makes it sound like they'll throttle you to only a couple of items at a time, but that really wasn't our experience. We were consistently able to order several items per person, so there was always something on the grill, more food on the way, and plenty to keep us chomping away. Our favorites this time? The top blade, brisket, hanger steak, pork belly, and even the salmon ceviche, which was surprisingly refreshing between rounds of grilled meat. We did have a couple of hiccups, but Celia was eager to make things right. After we received the wrong shrimp twice, she took it upon herself to get the manager involved. They tracked down the correct shrimp and brought it out. Thanks! Speaking of the manager, Andy was terrific. After another unpleasantry at our table, he came over and sincerely apologized several times. It was obvious he genuinely wanted to make things right. After we took a quick selfie together, he got us with a few complimentary cocktails. I have to say, anything here with cucumber in it is delicious here. Super refreshing. By the end of the meal, my son was a fluent griller and even said he liked Gyuzo more than the other all-you-can-eat BBQ places we've visited. That's about as good an endorsement as I can give. We'll certainly be back.

Went to Gyuzo Japanese BBQ for dinner on a Friday. It's an all you can eat restaurant with multiple…read moretiers with different types of meats. We went for the signature option which includes a limited amount of Japanese A5 Wagyu ribeye (8oz per person), so it's not really all you can eat. The signature set also allows you to get everything from the lower tiers, which includes lobster tail (1 per person), snow crab clusters (1 per person), and U.S. Wagyu options (unlimited for Signature). All these limits make it seems like it's not really all you can eat lol. There are plenty of options that are unlimited though, and the food was delicious. The restaurant is also very nice, but the service was lacking. I ordered the Ikura (salmon roe) nigiri, and the waiter told me that Ikura is not normal salmon. I asked him to elaborate and he said that they are salmon seeds, not actual salmon. Seeds made me think this was some plant based/vegan sushi, but then he said "the seeds baby salmon come from". I laughed and asked if he meant that salmon roe are salmon eggs and he said yes. They also run a birthday promotion, where you can get $39.50 off of your bill, as long as you come in 7 days before or after your birthday, which we clarified with the hostess. My birthday was on 5/1. We were dining on 5/8. Apparently 5/8 is not 7 days after 5/1. I'd have given them a higher rating, but them not honoring their birthday promotion was annoying. The Japanese Wagyu was also not as good quality as other places I've been to, but that's likely because this is an AYCE place and the other places were not.
