I have a couple giant trees that my maintenance landscape company usually trims. But these trees have grown well beyond its ability to property trim the crown of the trees. Therefore, I contracted Tree PROS to reshape the trees and lower the canopy. They did a great job. From the time the crew arrived to they were finished with cleanup, the crew was in constant motion. Having the bucket and wood chipper on site allowed the men to quickly shape these large trees and process the branches into one big truckload of mulch. Once the trimming was complete, the crew cleaned the yard and left it looking better than it did before they started. I thought they would be there all day, but having the right crew and the right equipment allowed them to complete the work in a couple of hours. I was thinking of rating them 4 stars because they were not low bid. But the quality of their service certainly rated the 5 stars. It was worth a little more cost to assure that my big beautiful trees were professionally cared for. I will certainly use them again. read more

So many issues. I hired them to cut down 4 trees, do a poison treatment on the stumps, and trim 3 trees. Poison Treatments: 4 months later, 3 of the trees are growing back. They originally told me the poison treatments were guaranteed but now they say there is no guarantee, and surprise-surprise, and want me to pay again. Absolutely not. Tree Trimming: They told me they'd trim this one particular tree down to 6 feet. Instead, all they did was shape it. We asked them 2 more times while they were on site to trim it down more, and the crew gave us attitude about it. In the end, it never did get trimmed down to what we were originally told. Scheduling: It took over a month for them to fix their original estimate to make the changes I requested and schedule the job. I lost count of how many times I called, texted, and emailed. I kept being told someone would call back, and then they wouldn't. I should have trusted my gut and not used them at all. Will not use this company again. It's amazing to me they're still in business. That's probably why they changed their name. read more

They said they would charge half now and half when the job is done. On April 9 I received a call from their company to schedule a job. Blaming myself on this one, but in the interest of saving others - beware. There is a huge gap between what Tree Pros says and what they do. What they say verbally is how they remove sissoos and stay on top of poisoning the trunk to kill off the root system. What their contract says is different - one poisoning and then best of luck. What their crews say is they poison up to three times. You'll be told that you can replant new trees as soon as the sissoo stumps are ground. Except you can't, because you may spend months chasing sissoo sprouts and having to spot treat with herbicides. Tree removal - that was great. But I wish I'd chosen someone else who actually keeps working to kill the root system rather than throwing their hands up and saying "well, sissoos are hard." I know that. It's why I hired them. Tree Pros, then name changed to Pros Tree and Landscape, are absolutely THE worst company I've ever dealt with!! They have done (and left unrepaired) SO much damage and shoddy work in my front and backyard it's literally, yes literally, unbelievable. I've been dealing with them for over a YEAR trying to get numerous things fixed. First, they installed a brand new PVC Irrigation system and left all the individual cans that cover the black tubing sitting on top of my landscape rocks, creating a trip and fall risk around my entire property and I say that because I've tripped and fell over them numerous times. These cans are supposed to be buried and no more than 2" above the ground. All of them, except 1, are about 9" above the ground. Next, they didn't even bury the PVC! Just threw rocks over most and left other areas completely exposed to the sun, turning it brown and brittle. They've also ruined the sidewalks to my backyard from a never ending leak which is ongoing to this day. They have refused to fix ANY of these issues!! So, I'm filing a complaint with the Registrar of Contractors (ROC) as well as the BBB. They probably think a single female senior is easy to take advantage of. They're in for a surprise thanks to 30 yrs working for attorneys! read more

While the arborist was professional in assessing the care our trees needed, the high price he quoted (in my mind) led me to get another company for an estimate. Their quote came in less, but I thought I was getting what I paid for, so I went with Tree Pros even though they were more expensive. The actual work was horrible. It took thirty minutes after they left to pick up branches and tree limbs all over the property (pictures available). I happened to walk by the backyard window when I saw one of the crew members using a leaf blower to blow fallen leaves UNDER the nine ficus trees instead of picking them up and disposing of them. The bill was over $4000 for trimming and fertilizing, and I asked for a 15% credit. After five emails from various Tree Pro members, they awarded a $100 credit for the inconvenience. CAUTION: Always check Yelp for reviews, as Tree Pros website boasts a 4.9 out of 5 satisfaction score - if you see the Yelp reviews, I don't know how that is possible given so many negative reviews. read more

Not sure how many stars I would rate this. Last year, we had a Mesquite removed by Tree Pros. They did an excellent job in every way and their price was very reasonable. From what I can gather now, Tree Pros has been taken over by Pro Trees and Landscaping. It is not the same company. I contacted Pro Trees, and explained to them that I was looking for a total re-do of my backyard, including grading, extruded curb and sod placement, which may or may not include pruning any of my trees. The guy that contacted my said, " I will be there to give you a quote on tree-trimming, just give me a call". Well, I called several times and got no answer. I tried to leave a message, but I was informed the mailbox was full and would not accept any messages. Front, both side yards and in back yard top tier had removed old rock, weeds, olive tree and two bushes that were dead removed. Horacio and his crew did an excellent job! He communicated each day when they arrived and were leaving, keeping us apprised of their daily tasks. It was also completed earlier than estimated. Prices were comparable to other companies. They cleaned up afterwards and the day after it was completed, came back out to make sure we were happy with the results and answer any questions. I signed up to have Tree Pros come by to trim my Bottle Brush tree. It needed significant trimming. They did a an excellent job, very friendly, explained what they were going to do and completed the job in just over an hour with 4 guys and a woodchipper. The crew that showed up for my backyard problem was polite, they worked quickly and they even took extras steps to blow away, collect and remove any residual debris. The first person who came out seemed knowledgeable and put together a quote for us. The price was much higher than expected. I asked them to just address one part of our yard first to bring the price down. My priority was having one palm tree trimmed. They said it needed to be fertilized before they could trim it. A couple of weeks went by before someone came and poured some fertilizer on the tree base and left us with a jug of fertilizer. I was asked to pay a deposit and did so. Another tech came out a little later and said he had the wrong ladder for trimming the tree. Then someone was scheduled and came out to trim the tree. I didn't even realize that the person had come by but received a call from the company saying that he had decided it wasn't "safe" to trim the tree. I would give a "no star" if possible. Had a tree planted in Feb 2025 and has been doing great, until about 3 weeks ago. Been texting with the "botanist" that supposedly cared deeply when purchasing, but doesn't seem to care to come and inspect the tree now that it seems to be dying. Send pictures was the response I got. He stated as a "botanist" that he inspects the tree that he chosen for you. Sorry, how does one inspect the roots of a tree that has been surrounded by a box for months, years and know that the tree is healthy. Wasn't even here when they were planting the tree, so no way one cannot inspect the tree they chose. Also, read the fine print of any contract..3 month guarantee..how can you determine if a tree will be dying or any other issues in 3 months. Stay far away from this company. We have had nothing but problems since signing a contract with them. They promised certain work dates then came back and had to push us out an extra week. Told us they would be finished in 3.5 days we are going on day 15 and it's still not finished. They have had crews come and leave the job saying it was finished when they left holes and trenchs that fell 1-3", the sprinkler heads they promised would be level with the ground have been 1-3" higher and had to nag them to get a crew out to fix this. The drip lines for my trees were done incorrectly so if we had mowed our lawn it would have cut them all off, we had to point that out. There has been barely any responses from the original sales person and the office just says sorry for the inconvenience. I have been waiting to plant grass seed and now it may be too late and I'm left with ugly dirt all over right before I'm supposed to host the holidays. For the amount of money we are spending it should not be this labor intensive for me or my husband to be supervising this job. They agreed to a Saturday visit, a gentleman came out, I explained what I wanted, he wrote down some notes and said he'd be back that following Monday to take measurements, that worked out fine for us. After taking measurements on Monday he told my wife he would be back the following Saturday at 1pm to discuss the plans with me. Saturday came, 1pm came, no show no call. I needed an Ash tree and a fruit tree trimmed. I had used Tree Pros once before and only contacted them. A rep came out and was very knowledgeable. I didn't received his contact info though and thought the price was a little high. I didn't get any response when I called to confirm my appointment (they didn't send any confirmation email) and inquired about additional trimming. They did a good job on the trimming, but their wood chipping machine in the front blew wood chips over my yard and the neighbor's yard! How do you not notice that or have the experience to set the machine up correctly? They didn't clean it up and I noticed the wood a day later. I contacted them and it was 24 hours before I got a response. They apologized for my "inconvenience" and "leaving debris." Debris in the street would be one thing, but all over the grass? They were responsive and able to send out Mike for a quote the next day! It was very easy to schedule the appointment and the quote was crystal clear regarding what would be done and what each component cost. I got a reminder call the day before. When the crane showed up (on time), the gentleman talked to my husband through the door bell system and was very professional and made sure the crane was parked in an appropriate place that wouldn't obstruct our ability to get in and out of the driveway. I hired them to do some soil injections, trim some trees, and provide some fertilizer. They trimmed the trees fine but left before doing the rest (I have cameras in the front and back yard). I called and they explained that the tech got had to leave but they'd come back the next day. The tech came, dropped off the product and left. When I called to ask about the injections, they told me the tech didn't realize he had more to do and he would come back. It sure started to seem like the $1000 soil injections were just a sham service. Lastly, it happened another time. Tech came for 5 minutes and left. Emailed the company and called multiple times. Back in February I contacted Tree Pros to cut down a sissoo tree & have the stump ground out. They said it would be a few weeks until they could take care of it and then it would be a couple more weeks to have a crew come grind it out. I had no problem waiting to have it removed. It was March when the crew came & cut it down. The crew was very professional and fast. The tree was at least 40 feet tall. In a couple of hours it was down & cleaned up. Later that day, an arborist showed up to treat the stump. He made some cuts in what was left of the stump and a couple of roots visible on the surface. He sprayed a poison that he assured me would kill off any sprouts that would pop up later. Well, it didn't work. As you can see by the one photo, the root on the surface with the cut in it was where the arborist did a treatment. Two feet away a sprout has popped up. There were a few sprouts that would pop up here & there. I would pull them as they would come up. I left for a little more that a week & as you can see from the other photo I now have a small forest coming up in the back yard. I contacted them to have an arborist to treat the ones that have now appeared since this is more than I feel I can do myself. The arborist acted like he couldn't be bothered & said it would be $800 to take care of the problem. He told me to expect a supervisor call back. I waited 2 days for the call back. None came, so I decided to call them about the issue. Someone said I would get a call back by the end of the day. No one did, so I called & left a message since all I got was a voice mail. This was on a friday. They did call me back & said some one would call me Monday morning 1st thing. No one did. I called them Tuesday at 3 because no one has called me back. Each time they have apologized about not getting a call back. When I called on Tuesday, they said they have scheduled a call for me Wednesday at 10. You guess it, nobody has called. I'm am done, their time to fix this problem is over. I am seriously considering legal action. I would've left a zero stars if I could've, but Yelp won't let me. I highly recommend do not use this company. My next step is I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Waste of time and money. Company does not communicate well with customers or their own employees. At the time of this writing, company has not fulfilled contract. Situation: Scheduled services to remove one tree and plant another. Told arborist that planting would need to occur later due to scheduling conflict. Arborist never told planting team about later scheduling, so the planting team brought a sapling on a day I was unavailable. Rescheduled. However, arborist also never scheduled a survey of the yard to ensure no pipes were damaged. When planting team returned, they still could not plant because the survey was not done. Rescheduled again. Next time, the planting team delivered a half-dead sapling (leaves already brown and withering, branches already brittle and lifeless), planted it too deeply for water or fertilizer to reach its roots, and neglected to create a well around the tree to help with watering and feeding. Called arborist back out to look at team's work. Arborist said they would make it right, and rescheduled again. As of this writing, team's rescheduled time for planting has come and past. There was no phone call or email to inform me of delay or cancellation. read more

This is our second year using Tree Pros and they are quite good. Tree Pros contacted me as we were nearly at the year mark since having our trees trimmed. Pete came out and provided a fair estimate both for trimming our two large trees and soil injections. Within a couple of days I revived a call to schedule the tree trimming and soil injections, they are done separately, though I was lucky enough to get them done the same day. The night before the appointment date they call with a three hour window of when the service will occur. My frustration is with the fact that the gentleman for soil injections came an hour early and for trimming two hours early. Luckily I had taken the day off, but I nearly missed grabbing the door for the soil injection gentleman because I wasn't expecting him. No one called me ahead of time to let me know there was any change in the schedule. I am still giving Tree Pros four stars overall. They do do quality work and are reasonably priced and do try to fix issues - I just wish their time estimate was a little more accurate! It would help greatly! I have already submitted this concern via email to the company in hopes they can work on this one. The crew for trimming took care to remove our solar lights and put them back in place after the work. They did a great job of cleaning up all the debris and hauling it off which was a plus! read more

I called this company when my hundred foot eucalyptus tree fell over in a storm. They were quick getting out here and I liked the arborist who gave us the initial quote. They were quite a bit over priced (I had other companies coming to my door, offering to take it out for around 1000 to 2000) but they said they could get to it quick as an emergency call and get a crane to remove it cleanly. They showed up a day or two later and got the main part of the tree cut up and hauled off in a few hours. However the whole root system and everything was pulled out of the ground and was supposed to be taken care of as well at the same time. They just left it and said somebody else would get in contact with us. The next day we got an email stating thanks for your service. We are now going to charge the other 50% that is due. We called the office and told them the job wasn't done so they absolutely were not going to charge us yet. They didn't know the job wasn't done or what was supposed to be done. In our initial consultation we were told the root ball and stump would be taken out with a crane but when they finally got anything figured out and wanted to do something, they just came to grind it up and tore out a quarter of our yard with it as well as leaving ruts through the yard with their machines and quite a mess. For being a landscaping company, they really had no consideration for the landscaping. So for $10,000 we got our yard torn up and a huge mess to clean up. Beware! Also the supervisor of the ground crew is extremely rude and is in desperate need some customer support training or even general communication skills. read more

I used Tree Pros 2 times over the span of a few years for some pretty major home projects in relation to tree removal and treatment. The services were well done although very expensive. Tree Pros also completed 1 treatment service at my parent's house about 3 years ago- again, the service completed was good. No complaint on the services rendered. Here's the reason I will never use Tree Pros again: the treatment completed and paid for by my parents 3 years ago, was suddenly reinstated and payment was due November 2023. Neither I nor my parents, received notice of this invoice. Yesterday, someone from Tree Pros showed up with said invoice at my parents house- and since they live in a large gated home- the person from Tree Pros began yelling from the street, towards my parents house, demanding payment and claiming that a lien would be placed on their home "tomorrow". He was yelling so much, that even the neighbors came out to watch. The invoice showed the amount due, coincidentally matching the amount due in 2021, but for services rendered November of 2023. After continuous communication with Tree Pros, it turned out that it was their accounting mistake and the invoice had in fact been paid for in 2021. Thankfully, my parents happened to have the receipt from 2021 which stated all services rendered were paid. The harassment caused by this Tree Pros individual was completely inappropriate and the incident really left my parents in major emotional distress and embarrassed. Not to mention the time I had to take from my own job, to deal with the Tree Pros accounting department. Tree Pros cannot be trusted to manage their invoices and to act appropriately towards their clients. I will never use their services again, which is a shame because the people that did the actual work in our homes, were great people and did a good job. The good. Robert, their arborist has always been good to deal with and seems to know his stuff and communicates well to the crew on what needs to be done. That part is executed well. The bad is that they are overly aggressive in trying to get back in to trim trees, etc. This is a $1,100 to $1,300 job. Mark your calendar please as we will not be doing more than every 10-12 months. When my spouse reached back out to them, it took them a week or so to get back to her. They need to tighten up communication a bit. read more
