Tree Tavern is one of my absolute favorite places to go, not only to have some fantastic wine but to also have excellent food as well. The first time I went here, Mike (the owner) took extra time with my friend and I to make sure we liked the wine that he was suggesting to us and even went so far as to give us a personal tour of his exceptional wine cellar. Safe to say that the service was fantastic. The bartender is very nice and welcoming too, always attentive and gregarious. What makes Tree Tavern so special is the wine selection - not only does Mike have an extraordinary breadth of wine, but his prices simply CANNOT be beat. Now as we all know, the standard restaurant markup for a bottle of wine is anywhere from 50-200%, of course, depending on the wine and location, etc...NOT THE CASE HERE! One of my absolute favorite Chardonnay's is normally $27-$29 in the liquor stores; Mike has it for $35. Another favorite Malbec of mine is around $23 in the stores and he has it for $30. Those are just absolutely killer prices!!! And the food? FANTASTIC. Anyone who complains about the food here is simply out of their mind. Everything that I've had here has been fresh, high quality and of a tremendous value. Bravo, Mike! You have made us customers for life. Thanks for such a great experience! read more

Tree Tavern has some great Italian food and a fantastic wine list. Do yourself a favor and give them a visit. They have great specials like a delicious veal chop or stuffed chicken. They make a great grilled octopus and a very good fried calamari. Service is good and I really liked what they did with their outdoor seating - there's plenty of room for social distancing. Everything was tasty and I'd return. Overall, I'd give them a solid 4.5 stars. read more

Don't be fooled by the high yelp rating for this place. I would not recommend this place at all. Cozy place but the veal was super salty, inedible. The place was also very disorganized as multiple wines on the menu were not available. When we got the bill we were also very surprised the prices were much higher than the prices listed on the website. They also charged a 4.25% for using credit card. Lovely spot to take a friend, order a pizza and drinks and spend the next hour or two catching up. I am a confirmed Yelper, and have almost NEVER been disappointed using your ratings to select new restaurants, before last night. The service was fine, but the food some of us ordered bordered on awful. The Impossible burger and chicken parm were just okay. The chicken and sausage in the featured dish were hard and tasteless. The Chicken Milanese was a disaster. The salad was adequate, but it was dressed with a sweet dressing. What was that about? The chicken was pounded so thin that some pieces honestly appeared not to have any chicken encased in the bread crumbs, and tasted like cardboard. Prices were fair, but we didn't even get what we paid for, the food was so bad. Four and a half stars for this restaurant is a travesty. read more

WOW!!!...what a hidden gem.....came here last night with a couple of friends and what a great time ...... I had a couple of cc and gingers which quenched my thirst....then ordered the chicken marsala and I have to be truthful..it was the best I ever had !!! met the owner mike and he was great....he was walking around and asking all the customers how their meals were....met Corrine the bartender and she was one of the best bartenders a have ever met....super friendly and very quick !! she was good.....the bar is very clean even the toilets....I was very impressed over all........p.s....the pizzas are great...thin and crispy...just the way I like it.....so if you can find the tree then check it out I think you will like it........mike read more

Eating at this establishment is like eating a powdered Munchkin, only to find out that there is jelly inside. The place looks appealing at a first glance, but then once you bite inside (both figuratively and literally), the sudden sting of the jelly leaves a bad taste in your month. For a multitude of reasons. SERVICE - We understand that outdoor restaurants have a very high demand right now, and we are understanding of time limits on eating. They told us in the beginning that there is an hour and forty five minute time limit. Fair enough. But after an hour and five minutes, they started rushing us out of our seats. Bringing boxes for pasta that wasn't even half finished; taking plates that still had food and French fries on them ; asking us if we want desert or just the check. Once they gave us the check, they came back two minutes later asking if we were done and needed any change. Wouldn't even give us a few minutes to fill it out. In and out! Is this how a customer that spent $150 in one sitting should be treated? FOOD QUALITY - The steak was cooked way too much; the chicken was undercooked. Will not be back. read more

This is a neat little wine bar and outdoor grotto that you would definitely not expect to find in this location. More of a friendly relaxing and intimate neighborhood drink hangout than a place you go for a late night of partying. The place is all very tastefully designed and the outside area is absolutely killer in the summer time! Very friendly owners and service! We received free apps, a nice little personal tour of the wine cellar, and everyone was very welcoming. Great place for enjoying wine with friends. This is one of those times when you are torn about writing a review because it is still sort of an undiscovered gem and you want to keep it to yourself. You hope the crowds don't discover this place. On the other hand, I love this place and want to see them thrive and stay in business. The atmosphere here is very relaxed, the space is attractively renovated, plenty of comfortable seating and, as others noted, the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Not a lot of food selections - a few apps in addition to the Tree Tavern pizza - but what a wine cellar. I should note, though, that they cook the pizza in a brick oven and it tastes even better than when we make it at home. We ordered one with mushrooms and they sauteed fresh mushrooms instead of using canned - really good. First time here we just ordered some glasses of wine from the menu card. The second time we found out there is an extensive wine list. Mike is super knowledgeable and will gladly describe the choices and recommend one to match your palette and budget. The last two times we visited, we had varieties I never even heard of and loved them. My advice - if you are ordering wine, talk to Mike. Only regret - they are only open three days a week. UPDATE - Now open more days and expanded food menu. Unfortunately, though, they are now out of Ripasso. Mike had a great Ripasso as good as some Amarones at a super price. read more

Great place!!!!! Absolutely no complaints. Food is great only its a small menu with not that many options but it is a wine bar so there is definitely a HUGE selection of wines here. Also they have a wonderful staff, the manager Juan is a great guy who is very knowledgeable about their wines as is the owner Mike. The waitress Joyce is the BEST!!!!! Always checking up on her tables and as well as giving her opinion on a good bottle of wine to have with a good memory of what we already had too since we are regulars haha. This place is def. a hidden gem and when I mean hidden I'm talking about "in a neighborhood hidden gem" and when it gets to be a much more nicer summer afternoon/night they have a huge outside dinning area with a tiki bar, fire pits, gazebos, high tables and nothing but nature and a shuffle board game too!!! read more

I had been looking forward to going to this place, as it was recommended by several friends. So, my sons and I took a drive and we were not disappointed. We sat outside among the stars surrounded by outdoor heaters and pretty lighted landscape and trees. The owner and the waitress could not have been anymore hospitable. So nice. First time at the Tavern and loved it! Had dinner with a group of 10 last week and it couldn't have been better. First, the service from Joyce was spot on. She has the perfect mixture of friendliness and professionalism and never missed a beat with her service. Second, the food was prepared perfectly from my childhood favorite Tree Tavern Pizza to the fried Calamari. Everyone's meals came out together and there were no complaints. The wine list is expansive and well priced with many offerings both familiar and unfamiliar and some very hard to find. The owner was gracious enough to take us on a tour of the wine cellar. I was very surprised to see such a low markup for so many wines. They have wines for anyone and any meal you choose. This is a great wine restaurant to try something new without breaking the bank. All I can say is, WOW!! Such a hole in the wall place with great wait staff and amazing food. My friend and I were looking for a place to have an early dinner and relax with some drinks, and this place has it all. It was a little tough to locate, but that's the beauty of this place. Such a cool hidden gem that is off the beaten path. The bar is definitely the local kind of bar where you can become a regular. The backyard is really what shines though. There are a ton of tables, chairs, fire pits, and even a little gazebo for taking a bottle or two into the sun. With the fire, you can even enjoy a fortifying drink in the cold. Brought my mom here for her birthday and it did not disappoint! She loves seafood and they had shrimp and scallops scampi as one of their weekly specials and she enjoyed her meal(just that the rice was a little too salty). My husband and I shared a bottle of Pinot noir and started while a cheese plate...Yum! Our favorite was the balsamic & cipollini onion coated cheddar...UNBELIEVABLE! For dinner I had the special chicken saltimbocca served over spinach. OMG people - it was tender and flavorful! My husband had his go to chicken parm and it was delicious too. Honestly, I am taking a breather before I decide about dessert but if it is anything like the meal I am sure not to be disappointed.
