This beautiful restaurant was such a delight to visit! My significant other and I are from Colorado Springs and we came up here to stay while we were skiing. We are so pleased to have new food options in Leadville. For Leadville standards, this place gets five stars. But if we are holding this restaurant at the same standard as every where else, three stars is entirely accurate. The menu is limited - very limited. Which would be fine if each dish packed a punch, however, the Beef Burgundy was bland and could have easily been made better at home by a mediocre/amateur cook. The service most recently was excellent, but I think this is due to the fact that it was slow. Normally, the service is sub par - though the people are nice. The music doesn't match the atmosphere. With dim lighting and candles on the tables, 90s cover songs seemed off. All in all we will be returning, and it is now included in our date nights in Leadville. A lot of that would have to do with the fact that it's one of the only places we have. read more

Looked great on Yelp, not so for what I ordered. I had the special, which was coconut cucumber wings with jalapeño. What I got was a soggy small pile of wings that had no taste of coconut, but just overwhelming jalapeño. I like hot food, so I tried them, got down to the bone and they were blood red. Told the waitress about it, she said that they should look that way, took my food away, and didn't come back. Another waitress came by about 10 minutes later with another order of the same thing, I took a bite of the soggy jalapeño wings, and the same thing, this time even more blood. I sent them back again, lost my appetite, didn't order anything else. They took it off my bill, but still really poor service. They had a guy in plain view checking plates before they went out, and I saw that he approved removing it off the bill, but not a word from him after 2 of the same dish were returned. read more

We got the chicken and a salad, baked mac-cheese, and the baked cod fish with butternut squash side. All were so good, and fresh! Our waitress, Lara, was friendly & prompt with the service. The food was fantastic. The fried chicken with the jalapeno dipping sauce was a great combo. The standout was the off-menu lamb ribs with yogurt taziki sauce. But every dish was delicious. We even got dessert and the stone fruit cobbler with ice cream was the perfect top to the night. The service was low key and just the right place for us. We organized a large gathering, a reunion of diverse ages and tastes. The owner was very engaged from our initial contact and extremely patient, accommodating and flexible. When we arrived, the serving staff was immediately available and super friendly. We absolutely loved the rooftop for atmosphere and stunning view of Mounts Elbert and Massive: priceless for middle of town! The crab Wontons and tuna tartare were amazing. Then are meal, was from a choice menu and all options fresh, well presented and of superb taste. Eric and Laura took great care of the group- not an easy task. After spending 40 or so years in kitchens, mostly hotel kitchen, I have the following to say. Even in some of the 4 an 5 star hotel restaurants I worked there were always problems opening a new hotel restaurant. It takes a little time to work out the kinks in any new restaurant. That was really true when I help open a new restaurant in Vegas. Every person in that kitchen was professionally trained, but we still have problems to deal with. Treeline Kitchen is wonderful. The very best restaurant in Leadville without question. My two friends and I had dinner there last night. They were in town for the LT100 and are from Phoenix. Both couldn't believe what a great experience they had and I share their opinion. They were stunned at how inexpensive it was to dine there. I share that opinion also. What was also a very nice surprise was the dress of the wait staff. Really cool to have a wait staff not wearing jeans and a T-shirt. And the service of the wait staff was exceptional. I do hope my fellow citizens of Leadville will dine there. The price of the food is well worth it my friends. I've grown tired of the same old, same old menus...you know just a slab of meat and a bake potato and perhaps a salad. I live off my retirement income and don't have a lot of money to spare to dine out. However, I will dine at the Tree Line Kitchen whenever I can. Please go there and enjoy a truly great restaurant. This is a great place to eat in Leadville. Beautiful atmosphere. Our waitress was a bit indifferent. They offered a small number of menu options, but we each found something that worked. My son had the fried chicken, it was delicious. I had the steak and mashed potatoes with balsamic it was really good. My husband had the blackened whitefish with veggies and a salad. I also loved the spicy jalapeno margarita. Dessert options looked great but we decided to walk down the street to the ice cream shop. We will definitely go back. read more

I was shocked by how wonderful this restaurant was in tiny Leadville. I read all of the reviews and had a few doubts, but left without any doubts of what a wonderful experience our group of 8 had. The wine menu had a big variety, and we had a good bottle of merlot. Our table had a Moscow Mule, Colorado Bulldog, Whiskey Sour, and beer and everyone was impressed with their choice. We also tried most of the menu between us. Other reviewers whined about the cost of food, but I thought it was inexpensive for the quality of food we all enjoyed. I had the blackened Cod, and would put it up against any seafood restaurant on the coast. It was one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had. The Vegetable Curry was so flavorful, the roasted chicken so moist, the chicken sandwich was so good my friends husband took it from her. I wish we had room for dessert. That gives me another great reason to go back. The service was impeccable on a very busy night. read more

Happened upon this place after our first choice ended up being closed. Funky, cool atmosphere. Dinner items are a la carte l. I got the roasted chicken and baked mac and cheese. Small portion of baked mac and cheese for $6. Chicken was bone dry and very little flavor. Baked mac and cheese was also quite bland. Companion got the fried chicken and smashed potatoes fried. Chicken was too pink for my liking but he still ate it. Will not be back. read more

Brand new and defies expectations! This lovely new restaurant is such a surprise. Start with a drink on the rooftop bar. You can see forever over the chimneys and church steeples. Mount Elbert and Mount Massive stare back. It's simply lovely. Move down to the restaurant for dinner. The menu is a perfect complement to the beautiful interior of the old, restored building with a soaring ceiling and brick wall. We started with the tuna tartar and some crab wontons, both delicious. A salad next...I have to recommend the veggie one, then on to a delicious schnitzel, which was a daily special, and a shrimp pasta dish, superb. House wine was a perfect complement. By then, too full for dessert, but we managed somehow to sit and talk to friends for far too long, keeping the attentive and obliging staff beyond their normal closing. But it's just the sort of place where that happens. And did I mention the patio fire pit? Just in case you want your after dinner drink by the fire. Food - excellent. Service - wonderful. Great service. This place has a team waiting on you and it is very evident. Service was excellent. The drink and food specials were amazing. Our only issue was that we were with kids and they don't have a kids menu. Our server was GREAT at suggesting things for the kids to eat and the kids loved their food- it was just a little pricey for kids' stuff. Vegetarian options were great and the atmosphere was awesome. Absolutely best place in Leadville. The rooftop bar and fire pit out front create great spaces. The dining room and bar are cool and comfy. I've been to Treeline on two occasions. You must know to order drinks at the bar before you head up to the roof top or else you won't be served. Each time our drinks were good. We have a variety of beers on tap and Moscow mules between the trips. Their mules were good, just smaller than other places in town. We felt like both times we went and spent $70 for two (including drinks) we both left not completely feeling full. We tried the fried chicken sandwich and two sides (which consisted of two bites each and were $15-$17 per meal) and then beef burgundy the second time. The beef burgundy was good but was slightly disappointing for the price vs the portion you received for a $17 meals. There was one fairly small chunk of meat, half of a mashed baked potato, couple carrots, and one green bean. The second time was for a small get together with friends and many of our entrees were swapped around. We will probably come back. The service was better than some of the other restaurants in town. I understand that with being a new restaurant they want to keep the food costs low, but this is Leadville not Vail and the owners should keep that in mind. It's great to have another great option in town to take out of town guests to, but with many people spending ~$25 (meal and drink) and not being full it won't be our go to quite yet. Hopefully, the kinks and portion sizes (we don't mind spending money on a satisfying, tasty, filling meal) and will get better with time. read more

This place was so fun to find after 3 nights of camping. Great atmosphere, yummy food & friendly service. Very welcoming of us even with our 2 daughters & I was wearing a baseball cap. We had a baby kale salad with goat cheese, beets & lemon vinaigrette and a chicken breast cooked in sage, sooo good. We just moved to Leadville and after all the good things ive heard about this restaurant i was finally excited to try this place as everywhere else in town was just so drab. After the initial overall pleasing aesthetic the restaurant failed to deliver. We made a reservation online and it asked if this was a special occasion, i put yes first time and no mention was made of that when we arrived. The host was prompt and attentive upon our arrival and sat us right away. We ordered drinks which took over 10 minutes in a slow 530 afternoon service. My old fashioned came in a martini glass with no ice and had a cherry, which screamed to me a Manhattan not old fashioned. Across table vodka soda was ok. Our appetizer the corn bread was good, flavorful. Two entrees the beef burgundy was ok-frozen green beans ruined the other wise yummy beef dish. i had the roasted codfish which was way over done and the only flavor came from the lemon i had to douse on the fish for any kind of flavor. If your gonna not put salt and pepper on the table make sure the kitchen seasons the food. Before we ordered desert i ordered a glass of champagne which was forgotten. The bartender came over and asked if we ordered champagne, he forgot, then ran back to the bar and poured glass and delivered. Desert course we had the warm fruit crisp. Blueberries were very flavorful, peaches tasted like they were frozen. Speaking of frozen the vanilla ice cream on top was rock hard from the blast chiller or over turning. We could not get thru it with the spoon or knife. we had to wait for it to melt to mix w the warm fruit. About a hundred dollars later mercifully the meal was over. High expectations just did not deliver. Drive up the road to Beaver Creek or Denver for better food save your money. read more
