    Heffeweizen beer on tap

From the moment I walked in, it felt like a little slice of Germany with all the German writing, photos, fresh flower centerpieces and beautiful landscape scenes decorating the space. Even our server spoke German, which was super cool and added to the vibe. We stopped in just for drinks and a small bite to eat. As soon as we saw the XXL pretzel on the menu, we knew we had to get it! Wow... it did not disappoint! It was warm, soft, and paired perfectly with the cheese sauce. The service was great! Our server was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. They also have a pretty spacious patio area. We didn't sit out there, but I took a sneak peek. It looks like an awesome spot to hang out and socialize with friends on a nice day! Already planning to come back and try more of the menu! The currywurst, schnitzel, and goulash soup came highly recommended. Plus, I'm definitely getting another pretzel!

I wanted so much to love this little German restaurant. The venue is cozy and looks and feels the part. We had reservations and were sat at a high top for two. The high top chairs were wildly uncomfortable. Our server was very attentive but did not seem to master her role. Maybe she was a bit new to the position. I tried the German Whiskey and the Cherry Brandy. The whiskey was fine but the brandy was oxidized. I do not think the spirits get ordered very often. My whiskey glass was not clean and I could see mouth marks from the last guest The food was OK. I had the pork schnitzel hunter style. It was cooked properly but the seasoning was meek. The mushroom sauce was tasty but there was very little. My wife had the meatloaf. It is very akin to fried spam or a hot dog. The best bite was the pretzel roll. It was warm, soft, and delicious. We spent $100 and I left wanting something more. Three stars is generous.

Amazing little German restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and they treat you like family. The food is homemade right there in the restaurant and is delicious. We were greeted by Carolina who is so warm and welcoming. It's a very small restaurant so I would recommend reservations. I can't emphasize enough how delicious the homemade food is and how cozy and inviting the restaurant is. Oh and the prices are absolutely affordable and the portions are large. This place is definitely a gem everyone should go to..!!!

Enjoyed the meal immensely. Ordered pretzel, goulash, and spaetzle. Authentic fare. Save room for dessert.

11/10 food and overall experience if you're looking for traditional German cuisine. Could not recommend this place more. Excellent service, but nothing comes close to the food here.

My husband and I were craving Bavarian pretzels after looking at all the cool Christmas lights in Scottsdale, this was the perfect spot! According to their instagram and yelp they were closed but google said open so we called to check. We ordered on DoorDash and it was ready on time for pickup. It's tucked away, was tough to find especially at night! It's a little place! Pickup was quick and easy! We got two pretzels with beer cheese and I got a cucumber salad. The salad was fresh and vinegary! The pretzels were warm and soft, super delicious. I liked the cheese but my husband wasn't a fan as he doesn't like Brie cheese. Really good place for authentic German cuisine!

Not the best Vienna schnitzel and spatzle I've ever had

I love German food and was excited to come try Treffpunkt for Restaurant Week but ended up disappointed. We were told you could only order off the Restaurant Week menu, which has three entrees. I've never encountered that restriction in all my years here in the Valley. That's fine if that's your decision as a business but then you should note that on your website and on the AZ Restaurant Week site. (I had checked both.) I wouldn't have made the thirty minute drive up if I'd known, as my sons wanted items off the regular menu. To make matters worse, they were out of rouladen, leaving only two entrees to choose from. Though our server was nice, service was very slow and uneven. Once our food arrived it was very underwhelming. The pretzel was very dry and bland with an odd tasting cheese sauce that had a crust on it like it had been sitting around. The schnitzel and spatzle had no flavor and just weren't executed well compared to what I've had before. I will say that the apple strudel was fine. I left very dissatisfied and sorry I'd made the trek.

Came here to get some lunch and we were pretty upset about the service. From the moment we walked in it wasn't very friendly and we should have left. It wasn't busy either, there was 1 customer when we went in and then throughout our experience it was three of us including my baby. The older gentleman that brought menus was pretty rude and you could tell he didn't want to help us but my mom wanted schnitzel so bad so I stayed. We ordered some goulasch which was good, the schnitzels were alright, the potato pancakes were extremely doughy and weren't cooked all the way inside so we ended up not eating them. We had the worst service, nobody checked on us, didn't bring any condiments, didn't ask if we needed anything else. Ashley the General Manager came over and introduced herself during our meal and finally brought some ketchup. The older gentleman was sitting down on his phone the entire time, walking around the dining area. It took a good 15-20 min for us to get our bill when another employee finally walked back in (they were setting up outside I'm assuming) the dining room we asked him for our check so we can leave. Again, no kind of interaction really he just handed my mom the check. It just wasn't a pleasant experience at all and we didn't enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant one bit. We won't be back. I do like that they sell lebkuchen herzen but I was so over it, I forgot to buy one.

They also host events throughout the week like trivia, which adds to the fun atmosphere. Dogs aren't just welcome, they're encouraged. They even do dog parties for $10 a tail, which is such a fun touch. The space itself is spacious with plenty of room for kids to run around, plus games like Jenga to keep everyone entertained. They had a ton of beer options. I got a flight with four beers, and as someone who loves barrel-aged beer, I was happy to see they had a couple options. Definitely more of a German-forward beer selection. We split the cheese tots and the poblano burger, and both were great. Next time I'm definitely trying the cheese curds. Last but not least, great service from our guy Fernie, I'll be asking for him every time!

Instead of just saying sorry, he literally gave her the shirt off his back for free--which was such an unforgettable and thoughtful gesture. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and it made our bach weekend even better. Highly recommend for groups.

For me, it was a big hike up to the north side- but totally worth the haul! I grew up in the Midwest, occasionally going to one or two German restaurant/ clubs, so this was not an unfamiliar atmosphere to me. It is definitely a "seasoned" vibe, having immediately taken over the space by a former western bar/beer hall that had been in existence for 50+ years. Their menu says "German and Hungarian" but all I read was German. They have a solid European beer selection, including taps and bottles and some cocktails with a German twist. The one that threw me for a loop (in the best way) was Kriek! So ofc I got a pint. We shared a (fairly large) pretzel to start, which comes with beer cheese. Tasty, but I was genuinely shocked there was no mustard. I ordered the jagerschnitzel (pork) and just overall the meal was as expected as if I was in the Midwest - amazing, delicious, insert chef's kiss. I wish I could have joined the clean plate club. The cucumber salad was flavorful and not too sour/pickley. My friend and I both noted how umami the savory sauce was- not too bacon, not too mushroom. The potatoes were not too salty or under-seasoned. Literally willing to drive up again if/when someone tells me to go. It wasn't horribly busy so it didn't take forever to order and get everything we needed. Our server was super nice and patient. She even gave a bar suggestion that ended up being a nice cherry for the top of the evening.

We arrived at 4:30 and every table was full! Considering that they opened at 4, it was hard to believe it was so. We had to wait for about 15 minutes, but it was worth it. The owners are from Germany and the food is as authentic as it gets. There is live accordion music also on the premises. When we were seated we were immediately brought fresh baked rye bread and real butter. Our drink order was brought and companion had a Warsteiner beer and I had an Ayinger Dunkel which is a dark beer. Both were from the tap and were ice cold. For the main course, companion had smoked bratwurst with red cabbage and German potato salad. I had the jaeger schnitzel which has a mushroom grave, with red cabbage and spaetzle. Both of our main courses were delicious and large portions. Last was dessert. A big piece of apple strudel swimming in a vanilla sauce. To say we were full is an understatement. A motorized wheelbarrow would have been nice to get out to the car! The restaurant is rated with an A from the health department and it shows. When the bill came it was not to be believed. I've spent a lot more for a breakfast than for this dinner. Including 2 large imported beers the entire bill came to $55.00. I give them 5 stars for outstanding authentic food, good service, and cleanliness.

My friend got the smoked kielbasa dill pickle soup w/sour cream and I got the solyanka (beef, smoked kielbasa, veggies). For pierogis, we got the 12 plate to share three different kinds: farmer's cheese & chives, potato & cheese & jalapeño, and potato & bacon & onions. I think my favorite was the chives one followed by the bacon one. The jalapeño one was pretty mild. I wish that they had told us how the flavors were arranged on the plate. The honey cake was really delicious and the layers looked amazing. Even as full as I was, I ate the whole slice. The restaurant is attached to their little market. It's cozy inside and quite cute/quaint. I do agree that the service can be a bit slow in a way that was noticeable but didn't leave me feeling neglected. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.

Our orders were plated nicely and everything looked and tasted great We chose to sit outside, but there is plenty of seating on the inside. The interior is deceptively spacious. There is a long bar with pretzels and other baked treats. The menu is posted clearly behind the bar. The decor was fun and quirky. I enjoyed their chef my songs for "good pretzels for good people (and the other ones too)" Their literal bread and butter is pretzels, and they have a variety to choose from like original, garlic Parmesan, pizza, cinnamon, Italian, everything seasoning, etc etc etc. They also have flights of pretzel knots where you get a chance to try a variety of five. Each pretzel or knots comes with a dipping sauce that includes but is not limited to nacho cheese, beer cheese, sweet cream, marshmallow fluff, marinara, ranch, etc There are even pretzel dogs and other pretzel fusion dishes. If you're thirsty they have soft drinks and specialty coffee options Everything tasted delicious. Both the nacho and beer cheese worked well with the original pretzel and the knots flight Some tips: Parking is limited, but we visited the downtown area a few times, and we were lucky enough to find spots each time Try the knots flight to get a variety. If you have a sweet tooth, the cinnamon sugar pretzel is the choice for you Cheers!
