I had a wrist watch overhauled, cleaned oiled and adjusted. They said it takes 3 months. and sure enough it gives you plenty of time to save up to pay the bill. The cleaning includes replacement of necessary parts they also gave me the option to upgrade the hands and/or dial for an extra charge the illuminated hands cost $75 extra. I chose to keep everything original. but this is the time to upgrade the hands, bezel, face or band if you like a change. The price includes a water pressure test, vacuum test and officially certified calibration. The case and band will be polished to brand new condition with a 2 year service guaranty. In Florida we were not allowed to charge state tax for service but wisconsin state law does allow taxing for selected services on tangible objects I had to call and look it up. I went to inquire about repairing a Rolex given to me by my dad. I have a receipt, documentation, and the original box. The crystal looked a little suspect, but I don't know. I was probably in casual clothes. The woman there said she didn't think it was real (she didn't know). I asked her to check, she walked in the back room and right away came back and said that she still didn't THINK it was real. I didn't mind spending money for authorized Rolex parts and labor, but since someone made a guess, I can't get it repaired even on the outside chance it wasn't real. Looks like Chicago or Minneapolis if I want someone to give me the time of day. read more

I go to this store for their excellent watchmakers. They have always taken care of me in one way or another, even if the answer is something you don't want to hear, The staff is always so polite and welcoming! You have to be buzzed in but that is to be expected with the wealth on display. Some places have salespersons (all women, as far as I have seen?) have attitude but these people do not, They genuinely care that you have a good experience. I can't comment on their sparklies, but they are factory-authorized Rolex dealer and repair, and they also sell Heuer and Cartier. I don't know whether a person would consider them a "manufacturing jeweler" but I do know that they have a talented staff and what does it cost to ask? All businesses rely on their people to be their representatives not by smiling faces but what they will do for you. I trust Treiber and Straub to be honest and helpful, and that's enough. read more

My husband and I had our first trip to Treiber to look at engagement rings. I will admit, I was a bit intimidated walking into a store with a reputation for being more "high-end." The second we walked in, we were greeted by Melissa - friendly, knowledgeable, and zero pressure. She was so helpful and took the nervousness out of shopping for a ring - we didn't even talk about cost the first time we were there, we simply had fun trying everything on! We immediately knew that this would be our go-to spot - not just for our wedding, but any jewelry purchase we would have! My engagement ring is beautiful, and it makes me so happy knowing I got it from such a great store, one where I can stop in anytime and feel like I know the whole crew. My mom and sisters ended up getting hooked on the store, too, as we had some jewelry made for the wedding. You really cannot beat the customer service AND selection (David Yurman selection in Brookfield, WI...extremely hard to find)! Go visit Treiber & Straub - ask for Melissa - she is the best! My husband bought my engagement and wedding band here and I've been coming from time to time to have it cleaned. The store is absolutely beautiful and the customer service is excellent. I am always greeted with a warm smile and hello when I arrive. The family who runs the store is so nice! Actually - everyone who works there is so nice and professional that I cannot even tell who is family and who isnt because everyone is so nice! I must laugh at the 1-star review - it has to be a fake. She wrote "They switched a gem on my friend's mom several years ago." Yeah - sure they did---and then you still decided to buy an engagement ring here. LOL Sounds like a competitor if you ask me. I never felt like I was pressured into buying something I didnt want or spending more than I wanted to. I don't recommend it. Poor communication and customer service. When I walked in there I had a bad feeling that they did not want me there. But I liked one of the diamond ring settings. I should have listened to my 6th sense. I walked in and no one looked at me. A couple walked in and right away got greeted. Not much to say here except I got yelled at when I asked for my diamond ring to be returned (it's been four weeks) since I decided not to go with the setting. Not because I did not have the money to pay for the new setting but because I did not like that I was not updated timely and I did not feel that customer service was good. I wanted to spend money so badly to have fun with my diamond by putting it in a new setting but my integrity was more important eventually. I hope to get my ring back this week. I feel so badly how I was treated even though shopping for jewelry should have been fun and enjoyable. :( read more

My finance ordered my engagement ring from here. The day he proposed I noticed the ring had a chip on the gold band. I took it back and they said they need the jeweler to look at it but he was on vacation for a week and a half. They told me what day he was back and told me to call to see if he was there before I came in. I called and of course he was not going to be on that day. So finally I went back with my fiancé and demanded a new ring. They said no they had to have the jeweler look at it first. So they made me leave my ring. Then they called my fiancé and told him they need to send the ring back. They said they would put a rush on it. It's been over a week now and so I called to see how much longer. They said the ring is on back order. So they have no idea how much longer. HORRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!! read more

This store is lovely! They have tons of high end watches including both Cartier and Rolex. This was very important and helpful for me as I found most stores in the midwest to sell only one brand, making it very difficult to compare brands as they are both so beautiful so great being able to compare side by side. I also want to praise the SA Ellen. She was so helpful and kind and never rushing me or pressuring me to make a purchase. I went in wearing ripped jeans and not dressed the best, yet was treated wonderful and the SA were more helpful than any other boutique I visited in the midwest (visited 12 in Chicago). The man who owns Treiber & Straub is down right rude to his customers. I don't know how the other customers could possibly speak so highly of this store. My engagement ring was bought here and they downright ripped my fiance off. They gave us an appraisal for less than the cost and didn't explain. Then they adjusted my band charging me money. They did a sloppy job and when I wanted to fix their poor workmanship (lumpy rough platinum) they wouldn't. The owner comes out like a bully and says they would not fix something that was "fine." Well, I guess I should have known better! They switched a gem on my friend's mom several years ago and it took my own experience with this poorly run business to learn my lesson too! Run for the hills and don't go here for any big purchases unless you can afford to take elsewhere to actually work with you and get it right. I found a lovely family run business in Mequon that was able to fix Treiber's mistakes. From what I hear other customers are slowly learning to stay away from what used to be a good store and it is a matter of time before this place becomes bankrupt. Good riddens! read more
