Okay. So here's the scoop. My brand new Trek was stolen from my garage right around the time the pandemic reared it's head. Poof. Gone. About three months later, the cops called. They found it. I was elated. Except, when I saw it, it was trashed, cannibalized, ugly. So sad. Nothing was original on it but the frame. Well, being new to cycling I didn't really know where to begin with the rebuild. That is, until I walked in and talked to Alex behind the service desk. The dude got me all set up. He scoured the joint for all the parts I needed and I walked out with a deal that made me (embarrassingly) a little emotional. So happy to have a direction in getting back on the road. My absolute favorite bike shop in the area. The guys/gals that work there don't try to oversell you or pressure you into anything. It's all very low key. They'll help you with anything and are kind about it, even if you happened to buy a part somewhere else. The service department is just as well managed and their work is top notch. I support this store often, because I believe that having local bike shops is important, and well, they deserve the business too. Tried to give this shop a second chance. First and foremost, their service department greeted us with a warm and safe social distance warning. However, upon bringing our bike in for service we were asked what the SPECIFIC issue was and we told them that it's not shifting into the highest gear. He then replies well that could be a million possibilities with the most condescending attitude. After the shop did an initial check he then came outside and mentioned there is nothing he can do today without giving the details of what he analyzed. We have been in to this store on repeat occasions in the middle of rides, with silly little things like a tire that did not bead properly, a dry chain, and a pedal that had issues. On all occasions Nate in the technical help area has helped us out without asking for anything in return, even when we have asked him how much we owe. I have had a wonderful experience buying a new bike and accessories at Folsom Bike. Thank you to Drew, Travis, Muuqi, and Andrew for their help! They know my name and all my needs; we are basically old friends now :) I went in twice and tried road bikes but wasn't sure those were right for me. After they called me telling me a hybrid bike had just been built that would be perfect for me, I snapped it up because bikes are hard to come by in the time of COVID. There was an issue with the rear rack I wanted fitting with my fenders, but they ordered me a new one and got it all squared away. Highly recommend this shop! It's very close to Folsom Lake and the employees are excellent. I was visiting the Folsom area for the afternoon and desperately needed spacers for my steerer tube (misplaced spacers the night before installing a new stem). Brought my bike into the shop and the folks at Folsom Bike were extremely friendly and immediately took my bike to the back to fit new spacers. Excellent bike shop. By FAR the best in Folsom, if not Sacramento. I bought my first road bike at Folsom Bike. I test rode many bikes all over town before committing. The FELT at Folsom Bike was one of the first bikes I rode and eventually I decided that was the bike for me. Folsom Bike was very accommodating with the test rides (I think I came in 2 or 3 times to test!). The staff was clearly experts when it came to everything about the bike. They were never pushy or impatient. They wanted me to find the best bike for me. You can tell that the staff truly loves biking and just wants to share their passion with as many people as possible! The day I bought the bike (and shoes, pedals, etc) they took the time to carefully fit me on the bike while on the trainer. A few weeks later I brought it back in for a tune up and they remembered my name and the bike. Erin is amazing. When I bought my bike, I needed a little pep talk to make the leap to the clip-in pedals. She knew I could do it and I owe my success to her. I just went for it and have not looked back! Every time my husband and I visit the shop, she asks how we are doing and how the riding has been. My husband wanted bike shoes for his birthday recently and I did not think twice about where to go. First time customer and Never coming here again. Dropped off my mountain bike to be serviced including getting a new chain installed and the brakes bleed. They said it would be done by the next day. So I come the next day around noon and had to wait 10 min until someone showed up to help me get my bike. They completely forgot about my new chain so I had to remind them about it. They had 24 hours to do it. Took my bike for a test ride and the rear brake was very spongy. Told the guy that took my bike out and he said that after a while the brakes become spongy and you can't fix it. BS!!!! After taking it home and riding for a day the rear brakes completely stopped working and there was oil coming out by the brake lever. First time I came here was to purchase some bike cleaning supplies and lube.. cool. they were helpful! They I came in to replace my front axle pin because a friend left it on his tailgate and drove off... it was toast and got ran over. The guy at the counter was helpful, and called another location... and they were having a long conversation on the phone. He asked what bike it was for, and I explained the bike and that it was built with all the stuff I bought and not stock. He then got off the phone and said a womens bike was stolen last night so he was asking questions. Cool! So you're implying I may be a thief. I stopped by to pick up bikes from service and they said they were not done, as soon as I got home got an email saying there were ready. Nice place for renting bikes and going to awesome Folsom trails. They have really nice bikes. There are so many trails around with one of the famous ones being the Johnny Cash trail (the famous over pass bridge). The staff are nice and friendly. They also have some nice high end e-bikes for rental. The catch on ebikes (and some higher end bikes) is that you need to rent them for the whole day, and can't rent by hour). read more

While out on a ride yesterday, my back tire blew and then locked up. I tried calling a few friends and no one was around. I called Folsom Bike, as I just had a new Gater tire put on a few weeks ago. They aren't running their road side service now due to Covid, but when I explained I was stranded, he put me on hold and a few minutes later came back to say they would send someone out to get me. Chris picked me up and was outstanding. He took me back to the store, and they found the tube shredded and replaced it. They had me back riding in about 15 minutes. If you are shopping for a bike this is the spot !! They are located across from American river bike trail. I was doing homework on holes , most shops just want to sell you a bike . The challenge is Im in sales , lol. And I'm not s fan of being pressured when I have legit questions . I called this shop cuz they carried all 3 of the bike brands I was interested in. We set up an appt what they had at the other shop they brought over and actually talked to me about what I was looking for . They won my confidence after an afternoon of discussion and trying 4-5 bikes . It was absolutely worth the drive and the time and I actually bought up a model from what I was actually looking at . 4 years later I still LOVE MY BIKE !!! They will educate you about what is good for you and they stand behind there products. This store should have nothing but 5 stars! Best customer service I've ever had at any business ever! My son came in to buy his 1st bike. I called ahead of time and asked to hold the bike. They said the only way they could do that was to charge my credit card and hold the bike for me. If my son did not want the bike no problem they would credit mycard. I agreed to that because my son had already lost one bike by a waiting to purchase it. When we came into the store we had nothing but 5 star treatment! There were many employees who helped us and all were amazing. Every single person had a smile & a greeting for us & were so eager to help! My son test drove the bike, added many accessories & was counseled along the way on things that a new bike owner should know. The manager, Travis, was so informative & accommodating I could not have asked for more. He even ended up loading my son's bike in my small VW bug (we didn't think it would fit!) w/complete care not to scratch my vehicle. I could not recommend Folsom Bike more highly. This is a very nice store staffed with knowledgable associates. Well stocked and a good layout they carry top of the line bikes and accessories. I was interested in a Specialized Roubaix. They provided a Demo bike, like new, set it up for me and allowed me 2 days for a test ride. I liked the bike enough to submit my order. These bikes are a pretty big investment so having time to make sure you select the right one is essential. I was completely satisfied with my experience and I thank the entire staff, especially Tony and Dez for all their help and input. Lack of customer service and poor technician skills to ensure the bike is properly assembled & delivered to customer. I've purchased a 2021 Giant XTC through Giant's website and picked up the bike at Folsom Bike which is about 110 miles away from where I live. Two days after I ordered the bike, I called Folsom Bike to find out the best time for pick up, then I was told my bike will be ready for pick up on 8/15 afternoon after their technician inspect for delivery. Once my wife and I arrived at Folsom Bikes, they told me to wait at the front door, then one of the sales associate came to the door and ask why I'm there. I told him I'm there to pick up my bike then gave him my information, then someone called out... "oh... this is a web order." Then the sales associate went to check if my bike was ready for pick up. When they brought out my bike, they then told me the bike doesn't come with pedals and didn't even offer to fit me on the bike. They printed out the release paperwork and sent me off with my bike. First of all being a "beginner", I was frustrated because I didn't know the bike didn't come with pedals (I know other bike shops would include cheap pedals for the time being). Second, the bike shop didn't even offer to fit me on the bike (is it because it's a web order so they can careless for it?). Third, this is where I'm extremely frustrated, after I came home with the bike, I felt the fork suspension is extremely soft. So I called Folsom Bikes, they said the technician checked my bike before the delivery (meaning everything should be setup already). Then I went out for a test ride around my neighborhood, that was when I found out something weird with the front fork. Then I went online to search for articles about adjusting forks and ordered myself a Shock Pump. When the Shock Pump arrived, that was when I found out the fork only had 15psi!!! Recently I felt there was something wrong with the tire pressure and took it to my trusted bike shop to find out Folsom bike never added tire sealant into my tubeless tires. Folsom Bike most likely took the sealant from my bike packaging and resell to another customer. With my above experience at Folsom Bike, I have much doubts with their bike technicians who have failed to properly inspect a bike before delivery. I'm now forced to spend more money on the bike due to Folsom Bike's negligence. read more

I'm writing this review bc I am terribly pissed at the service I got here in this business. They are extremely inconsiderate, rude & big on discrimination against women. We came here to rent bike for me & my husband. We got the bikes & the bike that they were giving me was a male bike & very uncomfortable with the most narrow seat you can find in the market, which is very inappropriate for a female. I politely asked the guy to give me another bike which is more appropriate for a female. He looked me in the eyes & said oh this is a female bike!!!!!! Well right here there is the biggest problem which is him telling me into my eyes that you are a "lier". Right here is the biggest whole in their customer service. I will post a picture of the bike for your judgement of it is male or female!!!! 2nd problem: He saw that I m so unhappy & uncomfortable & he didn't offer me to change the bike. Another terrible customer service evidence. 3rd problem: he claimed this kind of bike is all they have!!! Well what kind of bike rental is this that only rents male bikes???!!! Pure discrimination. Over the past 2-3 years I have dropped into Folsom bike a half dozen times. Never buying much, but having an overall positive experience. They are a lead sponsor for my club Hammerin' Wheels, so we would sometimes start/end rides here (great having the coffee shop in-house). My experience with them was taken up a few notches over the past 6 weeks since I just purchased a bike from them. In October, in conjunction with Trek, they were offering our club some amazing pricing on new Treks and I fell prey to the temptation. While the pricing and Trek financing were the initial hook, I can definitely say that the customer service experience I got from FB was amazing. The stores willingness to let me demo ride the 6 Series Domane I wanted not once, but three times really set them apart from most of the other area shops (many of whom would not let me take a bike out of the parking lot!). The staff were always ready to help and took me through Trek's "Project One" custom ordering process without a hitch. When the bike arrived last week they had it built and ready for pickup the same day. While I interacted with many of the staff, I have to give a special shout-out to Cody, whom I worked with the most and who is an awesome sales person. I may not trek to Folsom Bike (from Rocklin) for every little accessory I need, but these guys do it right and deserve your business -- they have mine. read more

I am so upset that these guys did such a crap job on our bikes. Even more upset that their lack of honesty and follow through caused issues on my vacation. All I wanted was a flat fixed, new shifter and a tune up on both bikes. They apparentl filled one tire up with air but never patched the hole so it was flat before we got it out of my truck. We were in Long Beach so had to find a bike store in LA. Not only did they NOT do what they said but when I called the numb nuts that i talked to started questioning me like it was my fault. You guys lied, you did a shit job and I will NEVER step foot in this place again. read more

Mother's Day my husband took me to a Folsom Bike local shop to buy me a new mountain bike. After being sized by the associate we order a med one in my favorite color we were waiting up to two weeks for my bike to come in. My husband got the call to come pick it up within 7 days oh yay for me. Meanwhile we decided to sell our old mountain bikes.... discovering when my bike was brought home it was ordered in an extra small not what we ordered. Now they are no longer making my bike I had ordered. The bike shop is taking no responsibility for this error they had made. I called after several weeks awaiting that they were coming up with a solution. I asked to speak to the owner Erin and I was quite taken back by her lack taking responsibility for the error. Not only did she question me if I was responsible for the wrong order but she could care less that I was without a bike. She thought it was ok to offer me a more expensive bike with a $70 discount. How is that fair? I didn't make the mistake and now you want me to spend more. Horrible customer service horrible! I am still in disbelief that she wasn't trying to help me. Warning Go somewhere else!! There are many other great HELPFUL local bike shops I've spoken to who are trying to help me. Big fat zero 0 for this place! Mehhh..... so far not impressed with communication. Andrew was helpful initially when my husband and I walked in. We are serious about purchasing a bike for me. He was helpful about sizing the correct bike for my height and said he'd put the order in. He said it could be a couple hours or possibly the next day. We thought "awesome that was fast." Later the same day my husband called inquiring about it. He just wanted a status update. We didn't need to have it that night or anything! The person he talked to said they would call and let him know either way before they closed. No one called. Also- no one called the next day either! Really?
