Place was sketchy, we were the only people there at dinner time which was already a bad sign. The guac had large chunks of tomatoes and was pretty bland. We had two kids meals, the quesadilla and fries were good for one kid and the burrito seemed okay with Spanish rice. The birria tacos seemed reheated and they were edible, the nachos with chicken was sub par. The service was very unenthusiastic at best they had the tv on loud by the bar and it looked like the owners were working and they had a kid eating at a table over by the bar, he choked and spit up the entirety of his food shortly after we got there which wasn't a good sign. Their bathroom seemed poorly done, no paper towels too. Flooring was super worn and poorly done so don't trip, the lighting was very dim too. Wouldn't recommend, the 4.5 stars encouraged us to go but we will never be back there

We had a good meal and it was very quiet on a early Saturday dinner. I had tacos carnitas and my wife had a chicken chimi all very good.

In the mood for authentic Mexican Food and in the area or possibly a day trip, put Tren De Villa on your list. What really made me excited was the warmed tortillas that came with my main entree the Pollo Julio. It made for a really nice combination and is just the authentic attention to detail I was looking for. It's also nice to be served some chips and salsa on arrival which makes any wait go quickly. I really don't know the history of this place but will find out more on my next trip. Along with the Antique Mall across the street it is certainly strikingly eclectic. Maybe I'll even check out the dessert menu but was definitely stuffed and couldn't even consider at the time. The staff were very attentive, personable, and made some great suggestions.

Lovely place! The food was amazing and the services were great. I definitely recommend it Coming from San Diego California where we find the best Mexican foods I was pleasantly surprised how authentic the food was considering how far from the Mexican border we were. My only complaint was the lamp next to the tables is too bright. Other than that the place looks great! Very clean and food portions are huge. So go empty stomach and be prepared to bring home leftovers

A wonderful find in the valley everyone needs to try it! I grew up in the area but have lived my adult life in CA and let me tell you this food is LEGIT. The dining room is so cool too I can't believe I'm in Mohawk, NY! The Birria Tacos were A+, everything was amazing. We will be back!

We visited Buck Hill Farm at the recommendation of our Airbnb host while we were staying in the…read morearea for the weekend & what a surprise it was! The exterior is misleading & easy to pass by if you're not in the know - don't let it fool you! Breakfast is only served on weekends between 8 AM & 1 PM & we just happened to be there. Service was extra warm & welcoming - we had our pup with us & it was a not so great weekend weather wise & while we offered to order & sit outside at a table as to not disrupt other diners, they managed to put us in their back room so no one had to eat out in the cold (Pepper can't write her own review, but she says thank you, two paws up!) While the menu is small, one item is better than the next & you can't go wrong no matter what you choose! Prices are reasonable for everything you get & in today's economy, it's a rare find! The apple pancakes were to die for & honestly, the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! Fresh biscuits with maple butter (YUM!) Don't pass up on the extra creamy & delicious chocolate milk! Seriously - can I get an IV drip of that? This place is the embodiment of farm to table (obviously). Zero frills, but full authenticity of a working farm. Wonderful place & wonderful people. They have lots of their goods for sale too, so you can take Buck Hill Farm home with you! We bought their delicious bourbon maple syrup, fresh herbal tea, hot sauce, & took some ribs back to the house to grill for Father's Day! Plenty of full & happy bellies even after leaving the farm. After breakfast, swing by the chicken coop & thank the ladies for the delicious eggs! LOL We hope to visit again next time we are in the area!

They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The first time we sat inside, the second we went outside. Both are absolutely gorgeous. I had to double check the menu prices to make sure we weren't eating at a crazy fine dining restaurant. Beautiful marble panels and fake shrubbery on the walls. A large flatscreen above a fireplace. Outside is even more beautiful. Turf floor with shrub panels lining the walls. A area with a roof that contains a couple outdoor couches. They nailed the name paradise, it was stunning. The atmosphere makes you forget all your troubles as if you are on vacation dining at a fancy restaurant or one of those fancy mansions in the movies. We had different waitresses both times we went, both were very friendly. Always serving with a smile and checking up on us a few times to make sure everything was good. They do offer high chairs and do not serve alcohol so they are purely family friendly. I saw some reviews about wait times, but I laugh at unprofessional reviews. Which once again, those reviews only glorified their ignorance. We arrived at 7:54pm on a Tuesday the first night and were seated immediately. The second time was 4:55pm on a Thursday and we were seated close to 5:00pm. Now for the juicy part. The food and drinks. Drinks: We tried the Shirley Temple, Blueberry Breeze, and Tropical Fizz. All wonderful drinks. My personal favorite was the Blueberry breeze, if you were to picture a flavor to represent summer, it would be this drink. The tropical fizz was very tart. I love tart/ sour things, but this one was a little too tart for me, still had a very good taste though. Appetizers/ Sides: Mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese, and french fries. The mozzarella sticks were simply delightful. Cooked so perfectly to where the cheese felt soft and creamy in your mouth. The marinara was also very good. It was unique, nothing you would buy in a jar at a store. The fries were also very good. Unfortunately not fresh cut, but they had a nice batter on the outside that gave them a perfect crunch when you take a bite. They were also seasoned nicely to where you could enjoy them even without ketchup. Paradise eatery nailed the cheese game. I want to know their secret on cooking cheese so perfectly. Again the cheese was soft and creamy, melting in your mouth. The blend of different cheeses mixed together really nicely with the spices they added to make a delectable dish. Main dishes: Tacos and steak bowl. This was the consistency test. I was blown away by the tacos. The flavor in the meat has a very dynamic profile, all of the spices create this beautiful robust flavor that bursts as soon as your tongue touches it. I had the soft tacos, but they gave them a slight fry with gave the shells a satisfying crisp. The flavor was consistent through every single bite. This is the dish I tested for consistency, ordering it both visits. PASSED with flying colors. How can you be blown away with something a second time? I dont know, but they did it with their tacos. A nice touch is the build your own where you can choose a variety of toppings and sauces to put on your tacos to meet your liking. Next the steak bowl. It is served with their "boom boom sauce" in the bowl which has some spice to it. Tastes like a french dressing base with some kick. Really nice flavor, but if you don't like spicy, then ask for it to be removed. The steak in the bowl was perfectly seasoned. I love my seasonings so a typical "over seasoned" steak I would still love. But the seasoning on their stake was there, but not too overpowering so you get the nice steak flavor along with it. Overall, Paradise Eatery in Herkimer is an absolute wonderful place to eat and a must try if you are visiting the Herkimer area. If you are feelings stressed out, stop into Paradise, the scenery will make you forget about all your troubles. I am looking forward to their future.
