DOPE! The whole experience is a VIBE! My wife and I had the fried green tomatoes, collard greens, street tacos, vegan chili and red pepper gouda. Everything was amazing. However, you can not eat the tomatoes with the plastic fork, just dip the tomatoes in the boom boom sauce - trust me. The greens have a sweet taste to them and the stems are tender, so don't be afraid when you see them in the bowl. Both soups were rich and hearty, great on a cold day like today - yes it snowed in Atlanta today! Now the tacos, we had the soul taco - trend favorite, and the jerk tacos. We don't eat meat so we substituted the chicken for avocados. The soul taco was the beat, but I think that was because of the greens . The service was amazing. I love the decor and the family is very supportive and attentive to everyone in the restaurant. I love that you can interact with the kitchen and see what's going on with your food. They have a lot of options from meat eaters to vegan. I did not try the desserts yet, but I will definitely have some caramel cake and vegan carrot cake in the near future. First time here and was so excited to try them. Well, actually I called a week ago to place an order and was told that I had to do it online, they won't take phone orders. No big deal, go to the website at 8:05pm, website says too late to place an order. So no food for us that night :( Next week night, I place my order online for pick up. Lots of people outside waiting for to go orders. Such a nice vibe outside with the tables and music playing. Definitely helps pass the time for people waiting. When I arrived, there was a line of people waiting to order. Cashiers seemed friendly and helpful. I waited about 10 minutes to get to the counter to tell them I had an online order, come to find out it was ready and off to the side but there was no one to help navigate and guide traffic. On to the food... I can tell that this place has potential. Everything was seasoned well. 2 orders had sweet potato fries but only one of them had the cinnamon and sugar. The ones without it were almost inedible because the majority was burnt. I had the tipsy chick sandwich and the flavors were amazing but the breading on the chicken was overcooked/burnt and the bun was so soggy from the sauce. I ended up not eating it. Got a slice of caramel cake and it was dry, nobody wanted more than 1 bite. The wings were really good. I'm going to chalk this experience up to being rough around the edges due to how busy they were. Maybe they were unprepared for the crowd. I'll give it another try one day because we NEED more independent businesses in this area and should support them! read more

I hadn't been to Trend Urban Cafe for awhile and so I thought my husband and I would treat our friends visiting from Texas to food we really enjoyed. I was surprised to see when we arrived that the menu had almost completely changed, much to our dismay. Our favorite tacos were gone, the cauliflower side among others. Thankfully the orange-basil and lemon-mint infused water was still available. There is not much on the menu to interest us anymore so no real reason to return unfortunately. That said, I will check the menu online again in in a few months to see if anything new will entice me to return... maybe even the former menu! read more

I refused and requested they bring me the right side item. I'm starving by now. The food runner returns with a plate and states they won't bring out my right side item until I give them back these dry fries they gave me. Of course I do but I asked her do you all plan to resell this item?! Maybe they thought I wanted to be greedy and eat that too. Not even... soooo once they take my item back they brought me the blandest rendition of garlic Parmesan fries ever. Please don't order because their is NO TASTE AT ALL. Trend Urban Cafe serves great fish sandwiches. I have visited here specifically for that reason and all 4 times I have received perfectly piping hot fish with fresh tomatoes and crispy lettuce. A little pricey but, as long as it is done right, I'm not gonna complain. Crispy fish seasoned just right and as I mentioned before, it is piping hot, because it's cooked to order. I ordered 2 tacos with tofu -- the Sante Fe and the Chicken Fried Fish. Sante Fe was a bit too spicy for me, but the Chicken Fried Fish was delicious!!!!! I also ordered the vegan side of the day which was braised cabbage, it was OK. They've got an assortment of wines and beers, Jam Jar was incredible (if you like sweet wines). I ended with a slice of the bourbon strawberry vegan cheesecake, also great. There's plenty of seating indoors and out, and plenty of parking.
