My daughter found this place while searching for vegan options in the area while out of town for a work trip. This place is amazing! It has a wide variety for herbivores and carnivores. We got the vegan burger and vegan chicken tenders the first day we went. Delicious! They have the best fries, perfectly seasoned. We also tried the vegan caramel cake. Yum! They have gorgeous waters like cucumber mint and lemon basil that were so refreshing. We came back the next day we loved it so much. My husband got the fried green tomato sandwich and my son got the tilapia sandwich. They were really impressed! We ordered salads with blackened tofu. They have crispy kale and pickled onions in the salad that were absolutely delicious. The crew working there are so friendly and kind, great atmosphere and music. OMG!!! I just found my new go-to spot. This spot has everything - quality customer service, chill atmosphere, great food and a laid-back ambience. I felt like I was on vacation. The lovely quaint cafe is awesome! They follow the COVID-19 guidelines, which was much appreciated. This was an awesome find!! I was sweetly surprised and glad we chose to grab dinner from here during the game halftime. We ordered online and the order was ready early. They confirmed with a text message and the food was good and hot. Perfectly seasoned real good with creative combinations. The staff was constantly moving filling orders. The only issue I saw was that the menu in the online ordering was limited compared to the menu that shows on the main site. This is truly a gem that I will visit when I am in that area. read more

Got there and waitEd for my food, had curbside, got there 5 mins early, then proceeded to wait 15 mins and called 2 times to ask when my foods coming out, went inside, asked how long my food had been ready. Staff lied to me and said it just got there. I live legitimately 2 mins from the restaurant. Like, not even a half mile. Got hime. Fries, cold, hard stale, tasted like they were just thawed and microwaved then sat to room temp, we got the specialty fries (same thing but with Parm and garlic, me and my girlfriend couldn't tell the 2 friends apart.... the tacos were cold, gelatinous and greasy. When I called to complain the person that answered the phone with an attitude. I wasn't being an ass I wasn't arguing, I called to let them know I had an unpleasant experience. This place popped up out of nowhere after several businesses in the lot failed, so I was a bit worried, but I decided to give it a go and I was not disappointed. The food, the atmosphere, the service, everything was perfect. There are vegan friendly options that aren't just plain salads, and the salads they do have look and sound amazing. I looked at top restaurants in the area for a Thursday meetup with a friend and this one popped up. The reviews and photos caught my eye. The signage was earthy and quaint. Great location! My senses perked up as I walked closer - you could smell the sweetness and spices - it smelled like home. Greeted by one of the owners as we walked in. We were a bit confused initially on what we needed to do first, i.e. sit down or wait to be seated. You had options of sitting on couches, bar stools or a long family-sized table. The vibe was cool, neo soul music which gelled with the atmosphere - cool eclectic. My eyes were drawn all around the space. As the hostess/owner explained how to order food, seating was wherever suited you. The variety of cuisine was mouthwatering, including the vegan desserts. Our order came out quickly and was served hot. It gave us time to chat and eat at the same time. Some of the food was a bit too sweet, like the collard greens. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty but not sure if the bourbon was overbearing. If you are not into sweet n spicy food, there were alternatives. My friend ordered the garlic parmesan fries and fried green tomatoes. His comment was the fried green tomatoes were cut a bit thin, but they were the first to go off of his plate...lol. I anxiously awaited this new restuarant that boasts healthy eating. Placed my order and went to sit to wait for it to arrive. Admiring the decor and based on the description awaiting to taste the taco with collards and marinated chicken. On my way to sit, to my horror I witnessed the cook dropping frozen chicken from any grocer or big box store into the deep fryer. I thought hope that is not mine. It was. As i know this is a black owned business it hurts me to write this but i have to be honest in my experience at this establishment. So Friday June 12th around 5pm my GF took me to Trend Urban Cafe for the first time and we ordered a Garden salad and 2 slices of Vegan carrot cake. They gave us a number template so the food can be brought out to us. After waiting about 25-30 minutes we started to notice that 2 groups of people received their food before us, so we stopped one of the waitresses to ask where our order was and she had no idea (strike 1) and went to the kitchen to check. She returned a minute later with the Garden Salad but no slices of the Carrot cake so i asked "Do you have the 2 slices of cake we ordered?" and she replied we don't have anymore (strike 2). So now i'm questioning this business to say who in the world takes an order knowing they don't have the food item and still has the customer pay for it?? So at this point we need a refund so i proceed to ask the cashier for a refund of the cake. She seemed like a new employee so she turned to the manager/owner to ask how the refund policy works because keep in mind they don't accept cash for the orders.The manager/owner seemed like she was too busy to assist her employee and showed little interest in helping the situation. At one point she even asked me if i had an order of fries and kept it pushing after i replied No. Now to be far they were busy that day but remember people this is my first time here and customer service is so important. After a few minutes now the cashier then proceeds to tell me that they do in fact have the cake (strike 3). Clearly there is some miscommunication with the workers so i decided to wait for the cake. The cashier then brought the slices of cake to me outside and was very apologetic which i appreciated but what i didn't appreciate was waiting in total of 45-50mins for only 2 slices of cake. The manager/owner never decided to take a few seconds to come out and apologize for the mixup, give us coupons, or no type of incentive for the next visit after this bad experience. Customer service is everything to me and especially for black businesses because as a black male i truly want to see black businesses thrive. A little kind gesture and visible concern go a long way. Unfortunately i will not be recommending this establishment to anyone in the future. read more
