OMG. Aww man. I'm mad at myself that I just recently discovered this gem. I almost don't even want to do this review but that wouldn't be doing them justice. AMAZING FOOD. Everything was on point from the service to the food. The gentleman with the locs who took my order was excellent and provided me good suggestions. I ended up ordering a Blackened Salmon sandwich and when I tell you bro. Fire. The bun was fresh and tasty, the salmon was cooked perfectly with a cast iron sear and so juicy. It was obviously prepared by some heavenly hands and was made perfectly. The salmon was on a slight bed of lettuce topped with pickled red onions. All of the flavors went together more than perfectly. I'll be back soon, but that's not all. I opted for a side of collards instead fries and I wasn't disappointed! Easily some of the best greens I've had in a really long time! The flavor is exactly what I look for with greens. Perfect. I had to order more to leave. If you don't like your greens a little sweet you might not necessarily favor their bourbon greens, however for Me they were great. They have an assortment of drinks. They had fountain drinks, peach lemonade, tea, cucumber basil water, orange mint, and lemon mint water. I took advantage of them all! The lemonade was pretty good. Finished my meal with beignets, and I've had better but they definitely were worthy. On Friday January 27 2023 in the year of our Lord, I met a friend for lunch at Trend Urban Cafe located in Stone Mountain, Ga. Pulling up I instantly noticed a cute patio with heated lamps which will be great for the next outdoor gathering event. As you enter the restaurant finger popping and head bobbing to the melodic tunes of a dope R&B playlist, ( I was looking for the live DJ ) the venue is set up for large table gatherings or intimate high top dining. Another nice feature is the ability to order your food from your smartphone and close out your bill once you have determined you are done eating. I suggest trying everything. The food.... Very flavorful! I highly recommend starting with the fried green tomatoes and fried cauliflower. The dipping sauce for both will make you lose all your social graces and ask for more. Delish! They have a very cute water station with your choice of infused waters. I tried all 3 and was not disappointed. And for those of you looking for libations there is a nice beer, wine and sangria selection. I would definitely come back to support this establishment because we need more places besides the usual suspects ( I will not be sued for naming places that most of you can't live a day without but that's your business. This is a great spot and very close to home. The place is always clean and most times the food is very good. However, the service is questionable and not consistent. We placed an order and only received half of it. Had to inquire about the other half while we watched 6-7 employees chatting and dancing. Before leaving placed another order to go. As always with covid we waited patiently on the patio and after 15 minutes began to wonder why there was a delay. Finally a worker came outside and asked if we had an order. She then said "well its ready". I was shocked because they usually bring the food outside. The service today was the worse ever. I get the same thing every time. It's called a trendy mess. It's a vegan cheeseburger. SO GOOD. I don't eat meat so this is a nice place to have found. The people are always nice. We order at the front then they'll bring your food to the table. I like to sit outside on a nice day. It's a chill place with good vibes. It's never loud. I couldn't afford it every day but it is a nice treat. It doesn't come with fries so you have to add that on. It could be a date spot or a place to meet up with friends. I've done both here. This place has a patio but it's small. They played good music on the patio. Bad: The wrap wasn't that great to me. It didn't have a lot of meat. They gave me a salad bowl with a dirty rim which I got replaced. Overall, I would come back to this location if I was in the area and try other things in the menu. This was my first visit to Trend Urban Cafe. I had seen it mentioned a few times in one of my local FB Groups. They have a really nice menu with vegan options. Being vegan everything was clearly marked and I was able to order on the website. They are a Cashless business so you have to use a card for ordering. I placed my order and it was ready for pick up at the time it said. Lovely wait staff that brought it out to my car after calling in. I think it's great to have this option Now let's get to the food. I was able to order my food easily and noting what drink I wanted in the comment section. I verified with the person answering the phone that they had seen which drinks. She was very friendly. A Trendy Mess is their Vegan impossible burger. It was fantabulous! I have not been wowed in quite sometime eating out. This was refreshing and a true palette pleaser. We passed this place in route to somewhere else. The patio was packed and from the outside it looked like it had a real chill vibe. I looked at the me yesterday and there were so many items that looked really good. Needless to say, we stopped in on the way back out. They do not take pick up orders over the phone. You have to order at the spot or use their website. Pretty smart and gives you accurate orders so I can respect that. Also, no cash accepted. The inside is currently closed for dining due to COVID. So the option is outside dining or orders to go. Limited spacing but there are some tables with umbrellas for shade. The tables on the side of the building didn't look like the had umbrellas but, most looked like they have shade. They have a "5 guests maximum". Totally missed that sign on the way in. We ordered, got our drinks and were seated when we were all asked to wait outside because they were over capacity. The sun was blazing so I sat in the car while the beau waited outside. I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and added turkey bacon. Comes with lettuce, tomatoes, Boursin cheese and bom bom sauces on toasted wheat bread. Had a really good taste and all the textures went well together. I'm glad I added turkey bacon to it. They were out of the portabella fries, which is uber disappointing! Popular item I suppose. So I got the cilantro garlic Parmesan fries. They were really tasty! The beau ordered the Tipsy City Chik. It's a fried chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and bom bom sauce. The staff is always extremely helpful in making decisions when you want to try something new. They have these really great infused waters that are free which I think is very unique. I've also seen many people working on their computers or having meetings in this café however they don't have a very extensive coffee menu so it's definitely more of a working lunch type of restaurant. my favorite thing on the menu is the collard greens because usually I can't have them since they have pork in them. We came here for lunch, and was absolutely amazed! As we walked in, we was greeted by a light, trendy, clean atmosphere. It was my first time here, so I stood in the line isle, like a statue for a couple of minutes. I was viewing all of the delicious items on their menu billboard. Their menu had tacos, burgers, vegetarian options like tofu, collard greens, cake, parmesan fries, sweet potato fries, and other different food options. I had the jerk chicken tacos, collard greens, with sweet potato fries. My husband had the steak tacos with parmesan fries. Ya'lllllll, this food is delicious! The sweet potato fries have sugar, the collard greens are cooked to perfection. The collards weren't too soft or too hard. They had a sweet taste to them, which I enjoyed. The tacos had a fresh topping of cilantro to go with the flavorful meat. It was also topped with Mango's! They have Coke products, as well as homemade lemonade and tea. They also have different types of infused water. After we received our food, I went back up to the front, to look at the menu. I noticed that they had discounts for Veterans, the elderly, and first responders. I was so excited, that I said to the cashier "Wow! I didn't know y'all did that!" She said "yes we do." I told her that I was a veteran, and she gave me a partial refund! Shoooooot, I love this place. The restaurant is really clean and well maintained. The staff is so friendly and attentive.
