I use to come to Trendy Thai every week for lunch when I worked in the area, but since I don't work around here anymore I haven't been able to drop by. However, after my recent visit, I must say it was much better than before. They recently upgraded their restaurant so it looks really nice and sleek now, and the service has gotten much better. The food was delicious as always they were very accommodating. I ordered the large tom khar and the server suggested I add noodles, best decision ever! The portion of the soup was very generous with a lot of chicken in it and I believe adding noodles is $1.50 or $2.00. Really flavorful, worth a try if you like the strong Thai flavors like tom yum broth. We got a few other noodles and fried rice dishes. I ordered Trendy Thai today and they said 10 min so I placed my order, we get there and the waitress tells me that I must have placed my order from the "other trendy thai" because they have no phone orders. I looked at the number they had listed and looked at my phone...it was the same number. I told her but she just looked at me and as we were ready to walk out she runs in and gets our order and says "oh yea, we do have a phone order". The area where I work isn't blessed with many (if any) nice sit down restaurants, so it's nice to have this place in the neighborhood. This is a good place to visit to take a colleague out to lunch, but it gets crowded, so you need to get here by 11:30, or you can expect to wait for a table. Since I will likely be moving to this area soon I'm checking out some of the local eateries. Trendy Thai is located in a strip mall just off the intersection of Irwindale & Arrow Hwy. I hit this place at the peak lunch hour and every table was full. So I ordered to-go. While standing there waiting for my order I got to observe the service here. The waitresses would bring out 3 plates at a time and deliver them to 3 different tables. Or bring out 2 plates and deliver to 2 different tables. The whole time I was there it was like that. So people in groups were like...'hey can we get some extra plates so we can share the 1 dish we have so far?' One diner opted to wait til his friends got their plates as well and ended up waiting about 10 minutes. I just found that whole process peculiar. I'm sure the diners found it very annoying. My food took about 20 minutes to get out. Kinda long for take-out but of course they were busy. I would recommend phoning ahead for take-out. They also offer delivery with a $20 minimum within 3 miles. I had the pad thai and told the cashier to tell them to make it as spicy hot as they knew how. It had a good spice level but I wouldn't call it supa hot. The food was pretty good. Some of the other dishes that were rolling out when I was there looked good as well. Then they messed up a few orders , forgot an order and when I finally got mine it was way too hot . Good food but the soups need to be bigger bowls its like enough to serve a 4 year old. Appetizer size but sometimes I would crave for soup. Friday night in Irwindale and my wife and I have 3 hours to kill due to my daughter's dance rehearsal. We see Trendy Thai and think maybe this our safe house to relax and have a good meal, shoot we have 3 hours to kill. We were very wrong...upon ordering the waiter could not recommend any dish, except 2, which we got, and they were not very good. Best thing about the place is the big screen TV that were able to watch sports on. Place was empty, only one other couple came in and they look like they were friends of the place. I'm reviewing this restaurant after the second time I've been here, both times for lunch with coworkers. Overall, this place is nothing special. The dining room is relatively small, but we've not had to wait either time I've gone, and the decor is very clean and simple. From what I've personally ordered and what my coworkers have gotten here, I'd say the food is pretty consistently 3-stars-worth of goodness. Nothing that blows your mind, but definitely good enough to go back. Personally, I've had: - Chicken Satay: No complaints; very typical chicken satay with the traditional peanut sauce. I would order it again. - Tenderloin with Garlic Soy Sauce & Green Beans: The tenderloin was just a bit chewy (it was only $10.95, so I didn't really expect anything else), but the green beans were really good. Overall the taste was good and I'd get this dish again. From what my coworkers tell me, the yellow curry chicken is excellent (I'll be trying that next), and the spicy linguine is apparently pretty good as well, although very spicy. The service left something to be desired, and definitely contributes to the 3-star rating. The wait for our food was a little tiresome, and when it did come, it came piecemeal. A dish here, 2 dishes there...I would say that at least 10 minutes passed between the first and last dishes being served. All in all, I think this is the best Thai place in the area (better than Chang Thai), but it doesn't have much competition. This review is long overdue, but Trendy Thai has become my go-to thai restaurant. My workplace always caters their food for work parties or meetings and it is always delicious. I still have lunch here once or twice a week, the spicy chicken is the bomb. The service is always quick and friendly, its a family business and the owner is really sweet. The food is fresh and the restaurant is clean. It also looks like they added new items to their menu that i need to try! Some people have grievances about their food being slow during prime time lunch hour and not getting out in 30 mins, but WHAT? If you are going to come to a sit down establishment that fills up at the same time and expect to get out in 30 minutes, go eat fast food. Who drives to Irwindale/Baldwin Park/Whatever as a destination?! To me...it is all the town of "Bedrock" as noted by pulling off the 605 North Rivergrade exit. I expect to see Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble sliding down their Apatosaurus' (fka: Brontosaurus -- see Wikipedia) and ready for some lunch time food and drink. So why not come to Trendy Thai? Decent food, decent price, even pretty tasty if you like that sorta thing. Personally, I like to kick up the heat on my Spicy Eggplant and cool it down with a fermented beverage. But since I only ever drive to the town of Bedrock during the day for making money....the bosses sorta have a policy on the alcohol at work. No biggie...I can get my hot-cold fix elsewhere in The OC but this place is not bad for lunch...as long as you don't make it a habit. Then again...isn't that most places? I go here when I want local Thai food and I definitely agree that it is much better than Chang Thai down the street. My wife and I have been going to Trendy Thai restaurant within the last 3 or 4 months. We had been going to Chang Thai prior. We enjoyed Chang Thai, but the service was just not great. There was one waitress that was not very pleasant. Mind you, this was only at lunch time. We have found that at Trendy Thai, although there is a variety of dishes to select, overall it's still limited. But that's okay. Less is more. I really like the Spicy Chicken, and my wife prefers the Cashew Chicken or the Sweet and Sour Chicken. I've ordered the Curry Chicken, Chow Mein, Pad Thai, and the Thai Salad on separate occasions. Those are all good dishes. Prices are average, and the service is pleasant, when we do dine in. I definitely recommend checking out this place when you are in the area. read more

Second visit here I ordered pad se ew. Eghh nothing special. I've had better. It didn't have much broccoli which is my favorite part and it was still a bit raw.
