Only the Thai tea and the fried egg over rice are fine; everything else is summed up in one word--salty. Pork Jerky: The English name says "pork jerky," but a more accurate description is pork strips. I thought pairing them with Thai basil and the dipping sauce might help, but they are still way too salty. Kra Pow: The pork slices paired with white rice and cucumber barely manage to buffer the overly salty and heavy MSG flavor. Ironically, the best part is the fried egg next to the pork slices paired with white rice--it is the only item that is not overly salty or heavy on MSG, and it happens to be my favorite comfort dish: runny egg yolk coating white rice. Thai Shumai: The flavor is okay, but at $14 a portion, it is quite expensive. We ordered the green curry level 5 spice, and eggplant with basil & drunken noodles!! Honestly the level 5 spice was not spicy at all! Just a tiny kick! More on the sweet side! I came here for a yelp event, and more recently I picked up a to go order. I got the yellow curry with sticky rice, veggie rolls, and mango sticky rice. The to go order was just as good as eating it there. The flavors are so well balanced and I had leftovers for the next day. The restaurant itself is so clean and modern. It is an open concept kitchen too. The service is excellent and friendly too. I definitely want to come back and have dinner here again. It actually reminds me of homemade food. The food is also top notch. We got the crispy tofu to start. Tofu was so crispy on the outside yet so soft on the inside. The sweet chili sauce stole the show as well. So good. We got a tofu pad thai and an eggplant basil with soft tofu. The eggplant basil doesn't come with rice, so you have to order that separately. Both were soooo good. After bookmarking Ari's Thai Eatery, I wanted to give it a try since I was craving Thai food. I ordered via phone and was advised it would take about 20 minutes for the order to be ready. I got there around 5 pm and it wasn't too busy at the time. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and was moderately full at the time. For the pickup, food was ready by the time I got there. There was a small hiccup with the payment system but only took a few minutes to resolve. Utensils and sauces were available at the front counter. American Express is accepted as an option. Pad Thai - This was pretty good and leaned towards the sweet side. They included a lime, which helped balanced the flavors. I got the dish with fried tofu in hopes of complementing the next dish. Crying Tiger - This order came with a papaya salad, which I acknowledged over the phone. Unfortunately this was a huge miss. I asked to prepare it as medium rare but some pieces were completely raw. I needed to microwave this at home to ensure it was cooked through further. The flavor itself was also just okay. The worst part was that the entire dish was not cut at all; I needed to do that myself. This was a huge letdown especially considering the price of the order. My middle son wanted Thai food for his birthday dinner so we were going to go to Basil & Co in Diamond Bar. But then I remembered that they opened a sister restaurant called Ari's that I've been wanting to visit. We decided to come here since the menu is the same and I knew that the wait would be substantially shorter than the DB location (always a wait there). Distance from my house is only a little bit further than Basil & Co, so no problem there. The vibe and decor is the same as the DB location and I think seats the same number of customers. We were seated immediately upon arrival, but then I saw a table in the back that had "Happy Birthday" balloons taped on the wall so I asked if we could sit there instead and they let us. Came here for dinner with my girlfriends and after our entree, the waiter handed us a dessert menu but never came back. It wasn't until I heard the waiter talking to another table that it was their last call for the kitchen that I had to flag him down to let him know that we wanted to order desserts. After we placed our desserts, then the waiter slowly bussed our table. Anyway, we got mango sticky rice with ice cream ($18.99) and banana rolls with ice cream ($12.99). When the bill came, we didn't know adding ice cream was going to be +$4.00 per scoop. Like what? We didn't see anything about adding $4.00 for ice cream, but the mango sticky rice makes sense now that I had to go back to look at the menu again. Was I brought here by fate, or was it a mere coincidence that I ended up here? Either way, I was happy that I tried it. After seeing the restaurant on ABC7 I immediately added it to my bookmarks (and forgot about it for some time). How was it? - Pad Thai: It was freshly made and piping hot. I normally would just say "F" it and dig in immediately, but I valued the skin on the roof of my mouth that day haha. The noodles were delicious, al dente, and had an unresistable flavor that made you want more. All ingredients (bean sprouts, peanuts, etc.) definitely made the meal. The dumplings had amazing texture throughout and I loved the crunchy garnish and fresh cucumber. The Drunken Noodles were your typical drunken noodles-- delicious with fresh ingredients. They are very efficient and patience. They constantly check in and make you feel right at home. This is what we ordered from the DineLA menu: App: Calamari & Pork Jerky Entrees: Yellow Curry & Kra Pow (both with chicken) Drinks: soda and Thai tea. All the food is stylishly presented. I love the way each dish looked. The most important part is the food tasted as good as it looked! The portions were generous. I love their take of the Thai dishes and the tastes they created. Had tried neither but fate brought me here due to last minute plan changes...and sometimes, fate has a thing or two up its sleeve. Maybe three dishes up its sleeve. Ari's Chicken Wings: 4/5 The sweet and savor glaze on the wings was solid, and the wings were not overdone or dry. However, I was hoping for the wings to be a little more crispy. The Pad Thai was very flavorful with well-cooked noodles and a great balance of savory and slightly sweet -- solid 4/5. I also really appreciated that the menu included photos of some of the dishes, which was super helpful, especially if it's your first time there or you're trying to decide between options. Great new Thai restaurant with great menu selections. Got tired of the typical items so happy to see unique items like crab, fried pork, brisket, whole steaks for crying tiger, etc. food was good to very good. Calamari was amazing. Pad see ew was good, but very similar flavors to others. Crying tiger was good, but could have been better. Was a little undercooked for med rare and papaya salad wasn't spicy at all, even though I asked for spicy. Need my crying tiger to have fire! Will order with more spice next time, but hope they don't over compensate :). Their chili selection does make up for a lot though. Loved the red chili and jalapenos. Thai chili was pretty good too, Will be back to try the brisket and crispy pork for sure! read more

This place is probably one of the best Thai food places in the area. All the flavors were balanced and the stir fry dishes were not too oily. I loved how they provide different spice condiments on the table and each went well with the dishes. The servers are friendly and attentive. The place is pretty big and very clean. This eatery NEVER, ever fails! Every bite of every item is divine, succulent, fresh, and authentic. Whenever I'm in the area, Ari's is on the agenda. My go-tos are the crab fried rice, green curry with catfish, eggplant, and chicken satay. I'm drooling as I type this. Get here! Oh, and I have to commend the super sweet staff. They don't let any grass grow under their feet. There's never a wait, and the service is always warm and joy-filled. I absolutely adore the Azusa location. It feels warm yet energetic.
