    Complimentary spumoni. Unexpected but nice
    Shaska L.

Our usual post RenFaire Thai restaurant was closed so we searched for another close by. After a bit of a closed restaurant goose chase, we came upon Satu and were delighted to find them. Very tiny but immaculately clean, Satu's wide menu and reasonable prices was a fantastic find in the middle of a city we don't usually frequent. Very friendly staff who came by several times just to refill the ubiquitous water pitchers and ask if we needed anything. We ordered the Khao Soi which was prominently featured on the second page of the menu. It was deliciously coconut milk creamy with both boiled and crunchy noodles. Also ordered the pad kee mao drunken noodles and the spicy eggplant dish, redolent with wok hei. All the dishes were delicious. I asked for mild spice and was glad to have done so because the spice level was pushing it for my dining companions. They said it felt more like medium though nobody was too spiced out but caveat emptor. We were surprised with three complimentary scoops of old school tricolored spumoni ice cream at the end. Lovely restaurant, highly recommended.

My son and I were out for dinner and yelp guided us here. The restaurant is small but, clean and nicely decorated. We came in around 8pm and I didn't have huge expectations since it was close to closing time. Our server was friendly and took our order immediately. We ordered a few items to try, as we always do. To start we ordered the garlic chicken wings and chicken satay. The glaze on the wings had phenomenal flavor and was super crispy. The satay chicken was perfectly cooked and paired well with the peanut sauce. I ordered yellow curry with chicken which was delicious. My son ordered the won ton soup and Satu fried rice which was also delicious. We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back. If you're in the mood for delicious Thai food, check them out! We also loved their Thai tea!

It was my first time here tonight because I was craving some Thai food and found them. They are absolutely phenomenal. The food is some of the best Thai food I've had. They were quick and extremely kind. They accidentally forgot my side of sticky rice (would've been a bummer but not a big deal) and called quickly and since I was already almost home they delivered it instead. They also gave me a Thai tea when dropping it off. I was still able to enjoy my curry and sticky rice with my dinner. The service was beyond incredible. I will 100% be back!!! Thank you so much

Ordered takeout and dined here on two different occasions. First time trying was dine in. The interior is very small but there's enough seating for a few people. They also have outdoor seating. Customer service is pleasant from the staff. Fast table service and takeout service as well. Their yellow curry is phenomenal - a blend of spices and savory flavors, so darn awesome! One of the best Thai curries I've had. Their egg rolls are delish, rice cooked to perfection, and their Thai Ice Tea is the ideal level of sweet. Support small business and give this Thai spot a try!

Loved it here! We got the shrimp Pad sew, black pepper beef with a side of rice, black pepper chicken wings! Everything came back so quickly! Big portions and everything was cooked well! The service was amazing and they gave us a scoop of ice cream for free! Please support this buisness They also made great recommendations when we asked and everyone was so kind. The whole store was very clean too! P.s. My boyfriend loved the sliced peppers in vinegar that was provided on the side!

It's located in a mini shopping mall that is on the corner of Azuza and Sierra Madre. It was tight to park at 11:30 because of the many businesses that are crammed in that little corner: a liquor store, a pet groomer, a bakery, a Mexican restaurant and a teriyaki stand. Satu Thai Bistro has fresh potted herbs outside that they must use for their dishes and it looks like outside seating for when the weather warms up. The inside of the Bistro is charming with a few tables. Service is quick and efficient. The lunch specials are priced under $12. Brown rice is no extra charge and they also offer quinoa for an additional fee. The yellow and green curries are generously portioned. They are creamy, full of vegetables and our protein choice of chicken. At the end, they brought out little scoops of ice cream to enjoy!

Drunken noodle with chicken, oh so good! Thank you, Nim!

I've been stuck on ordering the same dish because it's so good. They no how to keep consistency.

I placed a to go order online and food was already ready when I arrived. The restaurant is very small, I took a glance and saw about only a handful of tables so I'm glad I did takeout. The employee who gave me the order was friendly. I ordered the chicken satay, shrimp fried rice, green curry with chicken and pad see ew with chicken. Everything tasted fresh and had great flavor! My husband who is not a huge fan of Thai food even enjoyed it. My favorites were the shrimp fried rice and green curry. I am a huge baby when it comes to spice. However, I do appreciate a small kick so I did mild spice for both the green curry and pad see ew. The pad see ew was way too spicy for me. It tasted good but as soon as the spice kicked in, I could not taste my food anymore. I will skip out on the spice for that next time. I also ordered Thai tea with boba and it was perfect! This restaurant is located in the tiny shopping center off of Sierra Madre between Azusa and San Gabriel streets. It is a random location but so conveniently close to me, I'll definitely be back! Parking is actually not too bad as there is a proportionate amount of parking spaces to the amount of small businesses there.

Went close to 6:00 pm and there were plenty of parking spots available in a shared plaza. It wasn't busy at the time so I was able to get my order quickly. Everything was ready and packed when I got there! I appreciate that they put the peanuts in a separate container. For the order, I got the Pad Thai and the combo platter. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton. Overall, it felt like an okay option if you're in the area.

I always confine my order to either Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. On this SAT, the eve before Memorial Day, I ordered two plates of Chicken Pad Thai. The pluses? The minced peanuts sparkled, as did the proportion of slivered carrots, green scallions and bean sprouts to chicken was ideal. The tamarind based sauce was excellent. Minuses? That the sauce in my second order was more plentiful- The first order was noticeably dryer than its follow up one was. There was a bit of a wait, they don't have much staff but they work very hard and as fast as possible. I got the duck noodle soup, which was a lot bigger than I thought. It's on the sweet side and it reminded me of what I ate at a village in Thailand, and I loved it. The duck was easy to eat as well, soft and tender. My mom got Queen of the Sea with a side of rice. She enjoyed it very much. I had some of the sauce with some rice, to taste. It was nice and creamy but it was still light. It didn't feel heavy in the stomach. The friend ice cream is a little uneven. One side, the bread was thin but the other side was super thick and hard to eat. It's perfectly crisp though, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bowl for the ice cream was really cute but I think a different bowl might be better because it was a little hard to eat without flinging it around. We got southern curry noodles, flaming drunken noodle at extra spicy, and Che Po. The curry noodles were good we got the flat noodles. Though my wife likes it more savory I like it more coconutty. Authentic Thai and Chinese fusion taste. The star of the show was the flaming drunken noodle. It's probably one of the best drunken noodles we've had. At extra spicy, it definitely brought the flame and the foavor in a big way. The portions and prices were great. Has this place gone through new ownership?…read more I used to frequent Tantawan Thai Cuisine at least once a week -- it was my go to Thai spots because it's nearby. I would always order the Thai boat noodles, Pad Kee Mao, or Pad Thai, and they were consistently flavorful, bold, and satisfying every time. These three dishes were on constant rotation. Lately though, something feels very different. The flavor and overall taste of the dishes have noticeably changed. The Thai boat noodles no longer have that rich, deep broth, the pad kee mao isn't as smoky and punchy, and the pad thai tastes flatter and not as saucey than it used to. The food just doesn't hit the same. On top of that, the employees were clearly new. Service has been noticeably slower, and they repeatedly ask the same questions multiple times when I phone in my order. I've always mentioned that I don't want liver in my Thai boat noodles and that I like my pad thai spicy -- and before, that was never an issue or a back and forth conversation. Now, I'm asked the same clarifying questions over and over, and I'm even told that they "don't make pad thai spicy," which was never the case before. It's honestly disappointing because this used to be such a reliable weekly staple for me. I'm not sure if there's been a change in ownership, staff, or recipes, but the consistency in both food and service just isn't there anymore. I really hope they can bring back the quality and experience that made me a regular in the first place.
