There's a very good Thai place around the corner that recently opened, nonetheless I find myself at Thai Chef more than any other Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. The ambiance is more like a family owned diner, nothing fancy but also quite comfortable They offer lunch specials at very reasonable prices. The pad thai and pad see euw are always reliable, I personally haven't tried their curry dishes but I've had friends who thought it was quite good and were satisfied with their meal. Service is prompt and attentive. I didn't have to wait very long for my meal. I'm not an expert at Thai food, nonetheless I'm going to venture the food here is more authentic than other places I've dined at. For example, sometimes I've had pad thai that was too sweet, that's not the issue here. I really want to see this place continue to be successful. It's a comfortable place perfect for lunch and serves the students and staff at the nearby schools (Azusa Pacific and Citrus College) quite well with their food, service, and prices. read more

Went close to 6:00 pm and there were plenty of parking spots available in a shared plaza. It wasn't busy at the time so I was able to get my order quickly. Everything was ready and packed when I got there! I appreciate that they put the peanuts in a separate container. For the order, I got the Pad Thai and the combo platter. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton. Vibe inside is small and traditional eatery and restaurant. Pad see ew is tasty and yummy, comes with carrot, egg, broccoli, flat noodles and with good flavor and not overly sweet. Everyone likes this dish as we are in a rush and need to eat in the car. Box portion is normal. Not too big or too small. Overall, price, service, and food are more than satisfactory. I suddenly realized that I never wrote a review for this restaurant-my hidden secret favorite. I've eaten there more than a dozen times. Why have I never mentioned it? From a lunch set that used to cost $6.95 to the current price of $12.50, I've been eating at this restaurant for almost a decade. I used to live in Glendora, just across the street from Citrus College. The restaurant, located on Citrus Ave, is only about a mile south of my home. I love Thailand, and I also love Thai food. The restaurant offers an All Day Special set for $12.50 with 9 options, and every one of them is good. Sadly, it used to have 17 options as the Lunch Special. Some dishes have been removed, like Chow Mein, Stir-Fried Basil Leaves with protein, and other stir-fried items. But you can still order them from the regular menu-Chow Mein is available as a single dish for $12. The set includes an entrée, mostly curries: red, yellow, green, or Panang. Red curry is the spiciest; green curry is mixed with coconut milk; and Panang has more flavor than yellow. You can choose a protein: beef, pork, or chicken. Pork is the best-if you eat pork. The set also includes a salad, a spring roll, and a bowl of white rice. I still miss the old lunch set-it came with both a soup and a salad. I always asked the restaurant to swap the salad for an extra soup. That soup was umami-rich, smelled like chicken, and had a few grains of rice at the bottom of the bowl. I miss it. For such a good restaurant, I honestly have nothing bad to say. I've tried almost every dish on the menu, and I've never had a bad experience. Ordered Pad Thai via Uber Eats (they have BOGO promo for $15.99) and I'm so disappointed! I had high expectations after reading all the great reviews but this is definitely the worst Pad Thai I've ever had! It got delivered to me in less than 30 minutes and it was still piping hot so I was really excited! As soon as I took the first bite, I noticed it was ridiculously sour. It literally tastes like lemon noodles with plenty of bean sprouts, some peanuts, and a couple chunks of chicken and not much egg or green onion. This is definitely not the authentic Pad Thai I'm used to. Pad Thai is supposed to be slightly sore and sweet but not THIS sore! Youguys. They use gluten-free soy sauce!!! I cannot tell you how excited I was to find Thai food that I can eat! Both the restaurant and my stomach confirm that a lot of their dishes are gluten-free. Plus, they have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options and ALL of their soups are cooked in vegetable broth. Anyways, aside from that....the food is actually really good. We shared the tofu satay, vegetable pad Thai, tofu pineapple fried rice and tofu prik king - all were delicious. The tofu satay was a bit underwhelming, but still good. A proper Pad Thai should balance sweet, sour, and salty, but this one leaned hard into sugar with barely any tamarind tang or savory depth. I was just released from the hospital after being in the ICU due to food poisoning. i was septic due a terrible infection. "it's caused by eating chicken that wasn't cooked all the way through or left out too long" the exact words the drs told me. I nearly died. it was all because this place doesn't not throw away old food, or doesn't cook it all the way through. Ate here recently (on 10/5/25) and although the food was good, I was cheated on my debit card. Not sure how they did it but we took food to go and the bill came out to $32.10. I left a $3 tip to go. Then the server asked if I wanted rice which was not included. I said ok. She said that will be $3.31 I gave her a $5 bill and waited for our food. Today I noticed that I was charged on my debit card for $3.31for the rice even though I paid for that with cash. The cashier had already charged me the $35.10 and handed me back my debit card. How was she able to charge an extra $3.31. I was cheated and what's scary is they didn't have my physical debit card for the second charge. I appreciate you commenting on the charge. I know what happened. The initial charge was for $32.10. I left only a $3 tip because it was to go. Total charge was $35.10. The server handed me back my card. Then she asked me if I wanted rice. I didn't know that it was not included so I told her yes, I would like rice. I had my card in my wallet. She said that will be $3.31 and I gave her a $5 bill and waited for the food. When the food came she gave me two receipts. The next day I looked at the receipts and noticed the two charges.
