    Tom Yum Shrimp Soup $16
    Flora W.

Flavorful, delicious Thai food right here in Duarte on Huntington Drive. I often pass by Charm Thai Home Cooking restaurant and think "we have to try their food," and finally did on a night when neither my fiance nor I wanted to cook. We ordered take-out on the phone for (1) Tom Yum Shrimp Soup $16 mild spicy, (1) Chicken Pad Thai $18 mild spicy, and (1) Drunken Noodle $18 medium spicy. I am glad we got two mild spicy and one medium spicy dish to try the heat levels because wooop, the medium one was spicy, even for me as someone who eats 2x spicy hot cheetos. I especially loved their Tom Yum Soup and had most of it for myself, I can really taste the fresh lemongrass, the zing of their thai chili peppers, and just love that spicy, savory, sour taste of this soup. I got a small Tom Yum Shrimp Soup, and I believe it only came with four pieces of shrimp, but at least the soup was delicious. My fiance loved their Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles and practically ate most of it. The Drunken Noodles was the one with the extra spicy kick, since we asked for medium spicy on that one. The noodles were extra wide rice noodles and had that extra bounce I was looking for. Their Pad Thai was a little bit on the sweeter side for me versus a salty and sour lime flavor I was looking for, but nevertheless, pretty good. Yes, their prices are more on the higher end, almost $20 a dish, but I understand the high cost of importing specialized ingredients for making Thai food. My fiance and I are all about supporting local restaurants in the neighborhood so we don't mind, also since they are just that good! I'm happy to say we will probably be frequent visitors here. I left with a happy tummy and plans to return soon. See you then!

Ordered dinner via Uber Eats based on the high Yelp rating and had a mixed experience with our dishes. Since it was Uber Eats I can only speak to our food items - can't speak to the store vibes or service/staff. Our order was packaged nicely with good presentation. We enjoyed some of the dishes but wouldn't order some of the others again. We loved the Roti Dip and our mild Green Curry with chicken. The Roti dip pancakes were soft and tasty (not greasy at all) - cooked very nicely and the curry dip had excellent flavor with small pieces of veggies inside which was a nice bonus. The Green Curry tasted very fresh and was packed with generous sized vegetable slices such as eggplant, bell pepper, and bamboo. It was mildly spicy and just to our liking. The chicken tasted fine but had a weird texture - it was unusually stringy white meat so I would skip the chicken next time (same complaint with the satay). Unfortunately the curry doesn't automatically come with rice so be sure to add it as a side. The chicken satay was also a strange texture as I mentioned - very stringy white meat. The flavor was fine and their peanut sauce is good but I wouldn't order again bc the texture was off putting. It also randomly comes with a piece of white toast? Never seen that before - the toast was plain and dry (not buttered at all) but tasted fine when dipped in the peanut sauce lol. Lastly we tried the Crisp Tofu Salad - definitely wouldn't get any tofu here again. The salad itself was fresh and had a nice variety of veggie. But the tofu was shriveled, dry, and literally tasted like cardboard. I also didn't care for their house dressing - it was supposed to be a citrus base but just tasted bitter. Next time I'd skip the tofu and choose the peanut dressing instead. Portions were pretty decent but I thought the prices were very high for the quality. Prep and delivery were prompt. I might consider dining in next time but wouldn't order off Uber Eats again.

Quaint & cute restaurant. Service was polite & relatively quick. Clean & romantic ambiance. I recommend going during a weeknight so you may get the whole place to yourself. They're open pretty late so it's great for a date night after work!

The food was soooo good! I had the beef pad see ew and the chicken pineapple fried rice, and I almost licked the plate Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was really pleasant, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town. Loved the food!

Tasty, yet expensive Thai place in Duarte with friendly staff and cozy decor. I ordered the Moo Krob Pad Thai--a house specialty. This dish had thin glass noodles (yesss!) and crispy pork. I wound up not liking the crispy pork as much as I hoped I would. The crispy pork pieces were either too crunchy or extremely fatty for my taste with no flavor. The rest of the dish was perfect with fresh egg, bean sprouts, and very fresh chillis. Overall, I didn't feel like this dish justified the $22 price tag (before tax and tip) and I left wondering if I should have tried something else. I'll need to come back and try other dishes.

Decent spot for the area. We got the khao soy, pad Thai, and chicken laarb. The khao soi had good overall flavor but leaned a bit too milky on the coconut curry side. The fried noodles on top were also a little stale, which took away from the texture. The pad thai was decent. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, but the sauce was slightly too thick and leaned a bit sour. The crispy pork was a highlight though--they were generous with the portion and it added good flavor to the dish. The chicken larb was pretty solid as well, though the sesame oil flavor came through a bit stronger than expected. The food itself was solid but nothing particularly memorable. Portions and flavor were decent, though the pricing felt a bit on the higher side for what you get. Service was fine overall. One thing that stood out was the suggested tip options starting at 20%, 22%, and 25%, which felt a little questionable. Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5

The service is excellent! The place is very charming as the name is! We ordered the house menu, the papaya salad, the kahosoong noodles, and the bbq ribs, all of them on the spot. Lastly, children friendly with the plastic plates and spoon and this is a big thing for us. We would definitely recommend this to anyone

Loved the attentive service and the good food! I highly recommend the moo krub kra pow and the roti! The latter especially is flaky and has a lovely ghee flavor. The kra pow had the perfect amount of spice. Always love supporting local!

Charm is one of the those restaurants that really feels like home. It's a nice and quiet environment with plenty of seating. We found them browsing Yelp and wanted to give them a try because they saw they serve Khao Soi. We have tried multiple Thai restaurants in the past and Khao Soi was slowly become our favorite Thai dishes. Charm seems like a local hidden gem in Duarte. It's along Huntington Drive so it could be easy to miss. The parking lot is in back of the restaurant where there's some housing. The home vibe is a perfect way to describe the restaurant. When we arrived on a weekday night, we were greeted immediately. There were few customers dining at the time. The ambiance is relaxed, intimate and quiet. Good music was playing in the restaurant the whole time. The menu is quiet extensive and has all the traditional Thai cuisine. We decide on the Tom Kha soup with chicken, the Khao Soi with beef, and a side of rice. First bite and first impressions were exceptional. The Tom Kha was light and flavorful. Their Khao Soi was great. The mix of flavors and texture of the egg noodle + the crunchy noodles is why it's a favorite Thai dish of ours. Overall, Charm left us happy after dining here. A great cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I'd recommend Charm to anyone living in Duarte. Thank you, Charm!

First time here. We were greeted with a chill, relaxed vibe. Clean restaurant and very nice server. We ordered pad see ew, pork jerky, combo fried rice and tom kha. Food came out fast. Excellent food and service. Thumbs up!

CHARMing restaurant with an extensive menu. the restaurant was empty on a sunday night, which is unfortunate since it's not in a heavy foot traffic area. our order: appetizers - wings and papaya salad entrees - pineapple fried rice, tofu pad see ew, chicken pad thai we opted for non-spicy for wings and papaya salad since we had kids. the wings were very crispy. however, the honey-based sauce option that our wings came with was too salty for our taste. the wings seemed like they were already marinated to begin with, so the extra salt was too much. would've been absolutely delicious with less salt! papaya salad dressing tasted off - not sure if it's because we omitted the chilis or if it just needed more palm sugar, less fish sauce, maybe needed dried shrimp? other than that, the veggies were crisp and fresh. it also came with pieces of cabbage and a couple lettuce leaves that looked like garnish, but could definitely be mixed with the rest of the salad. pad see ew was decent, but from other people in my party, the tofu was unusually hard. it was the same type of tofu that other thai restaurants use, so not sure what happened. pad thai was probably the best dish. the noodles were al dente and not overly saucy. this one didn't come with crushed peanuts. pineapple fried rice could've been better. the rice used may have been fresh, resulting in softer rice. service was great - our server remembered our order without needed to write it down. she also brought us child-friendly plates and utensils. lots of street parking with additional parking in the back. restrooms are outside in the back patio - women's restroom was very clean. exterior of restaurant has landscaping that reminds me of someone's private garden, which made it feel cozy. parties 5+ have a 20% service (which we were charged - 4 adults, 1 kid and 1 baby), while 1-4 persons have a 16% charge which i haven't seen anywhere else. maybe they've been traumatized by non-tippers? hoping for longevity for this neighborhood establishment but with the food being mid and the required service charge, i'm not too sure...

My family and I have been trying to find a great Thai restaurant and we came across this place, and it did not disappoint. This is one of the best Thai places we've been to, and we were BLOWN AWAY with it. The food is AMAZING and the service is so sweet and kind. The place is nice and clean and homey. We are gonna be regulars here!

This restaurant has a cozy, welcoming, and friendly ambiance. It's not too fancy, but it's pleasant enough for lunch or dinner. The dining area is moderately sized, not huge or upscale, but comfortable for most groups. I decided to try the Kung Pao chicken, the Chow Mein with vegetables, the Crispy Bomb, and the Hot & Spicy Fried Rice. Let's start with the Kung Pao chicken. Kung Pao chicken is generally a stir-fried dish made with chicken, zucchini, onion, bell peppers, peanuts, and sometimes spicy dried peppers. This restaurant has its own twist on the dish and uses a spicy roasted chili garlic soy base rather than the sweeter, more Americanized Chinese versions. The chicken was tender and very flavorful. Let's talk about the Chow Mein next. This restaurant allows you to order this dish with your choice of protein or just vegetables. I chose to order it with just vegetables. The noodles were perfectly cooked, but I found the dish a bit too salty for my taste. Next up is the Crispy Bomb. The Crispy Bomb is a mixed appetizer sampler that includes two egg rolls, two shrimp tempura, two cream cheese wontons, and three fried potstickers. This appetizer offers a generous and satisfying mix if you want a variety of crispy bites. It was the perfect way to start my meal. Last but not least, the Hot & Spicy Fried Rice. This was by far the star of the show. The rice is cooked with egg, chili, onion, bell peppers, and basil leaves for extra heat and Thai flair. I chose to add chicken to this dish. You are also allowed to choose a spice level, and I selected the second-highest level. This dish was savory with a noticeable heat from the chilies, aromatic from the basil leaves, and balanced with tender stir-fried rice and vegetables. I have been craving this dish again ever since I tried it. Now, let's talk about the service. This is where my final score takes a slight hit. My server seemed a bit moody at first, but she mellowed out toward the end. One major issue was that she was not attentive. Most of the times she checked in were when I was about to finish my meal. I also never got my drink refilled because of this. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so I was surprised by the lack of attentiveness. Overall, this restaurant is a solid choice for authentic, tasty Thai food. I would like to give it another try in the near future, and I hope the service improves by then. Ratings: Kung Pao - 4/5 Chow Mein - 3.5/5 Crispy Bomb - 4/5 Hot & Spicy Fried Rice - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Service - 2.5/5

The ambiance is more like a family owned diner, nothing fancy but also quite comfortable They offer lunch specials at very reasonable prices. The pad thai and pad see euw are always reliable, I personally haven't tried their curry dishes but I've had friends who thought it was quite good and were satisfied with their meal. Service is prompt and attentive. I didn't have to wait very long for my meal. I'm not an expert at Thai food, nonetheless I'm going to venture the food here is more authentic than other places I've dined at. For example, sometimes I've had pad thai that was too sweet, that's not the issue here. I really want to see this place continue to be successful. It's a comfortable place perfect for lunch and serves the students and staff at the nearby schools (Azusa Pacific and Citrus College) quite well with their food, service, and prices.

Went close to 6:00 pm and there were plenty of parking spots available in a shared plaza. It wasn't busy at the time so I was able to get my order quickly. Everything was ready and packed when I got there! I appreciate that they put the peanuts in a separate container. For the order, I got the Pad Thai and the combo platter. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton. Overall, it felt like an okay option if you're in the area.
