food: this is the best pupusas ive ever had. theyre not greasy and are definitely filling on the inside! i ordered the queso con lorroco, lorocco con revueltas, tamale de elote and tamale de pollo. everything was so delicious, and it felt very homemade. you can tell the beans are made in the house and so do the tamales. bf is originally from el salvador and confirmed this with me service: when it's crowded, it can be really on the slower side but i dont blame them because there's only one waitress doing all the work and the wait is worth it! protip, if there's no parking by the restaurant, there's free street parking next to it. in addition, there's a panaderia next to the restaurant for delicious bread.. read more

Tres Amigos was my introduction to Salvadoran food. I hadn't even heard of a pupusa before. The manager of the apartment we moved into several years ago was Salvadoran. One day we were talking and somehow the topic of food came up. When I told her I had never had a pupusa she recommended this place. My husband and I went and ate pupusas de loroco, de frijoles and queso. We also had chicharrón con yuca. It was all good. I am Brazilian and my husband is Puerto Rican so the chicharrón with yuca was familiar, but the pupusas were something else. Combined with the slaw, they were excellent. I have since had better Salvadoran food, but I have to give credit to Tres Amigos ( and the building manager) for turning me on to a new cuisine. read more

WORST WORST WORST place to eat, order the mix ceviche, not only they took forever to serve but when they did, everything was warm, I try only one shrimp!!! they took a long time to prepare it, so I'm guessing they defrosted the mariscos in hot water or something, it was awful, had to return it and get something else, I ate my second order, just cus I was hungry and thought that will be better taste, smh ‍. Freshly made pupusas are always a must. This place has all the delicacies of a Salvadorian kitchen. The space is spacious; there's plenty of sitting and it doesn't seem to get too full even when there's plenty of customers. You can sit down or order to go. If you sit down, the waitress takes your order and checks up on you every 5-10 minutes which is nice. They also have beer so it's a plus to sit down and enjoy a cold beer while you wait for your food to arrive. My go-to are their pupusas revueltas. They are delicious and of a nice size. I always get two and end up mad full. The only reasons why I'm giving this place four stars is because it's always noisy and the curtido is a little bland. They have music playing on the speaker system as well as two TVs on at the same time on different channels. The curtido is not as vinegary as it should be, but it could be a personal preference. Overall, definitely coming back. read more

The food isn't bad, but not good enough to recommend the business as a 4-star. However, the worst part of this place is their customer service. They don't provide customer service, they simply deal with customers. I've seen them interacting with customers in the past and always felt they could do better. However, what I saw this week was the ultimate disservice to their own business, in my eyes. There was an older man asking if they could look into his order, which he kept repeating was simply a bowl of soup to go. And not only did they not give a damn, but they laughed in his face, as if he weren't even there. To me that was the ultimate lack of respect they have shown out of all the mishandled situations I have seen there. For Management: This lack of care and respect by your staff only speaks to the poor leadership in the place. You need to appreciate the current global situation and understand that while you mistreat your customers, other businesses are eager to see someone walk through their doors, so they can treat them like royalty. Your food isn't exceptional, it's plain normal. If you don't give a f^%$K about your customers, then we don't give a f^%$K about your business. I guess I was feeling adventurous tonight. I didn't know what I wanted for dinner so I just started driving around but it was 5:00 pm so traffic was bad everywhere. I was headed to another place to get a burrito but then I saw this place and decided I'd give it a shot. It's a mom and pop Salvadoran pupusería. The menu had a lot of the traditional El Salvadoran plates but the pupusas seemed a bit pricey starting ay $2.15 up to $3.25 for a rice pupusa with chicken and cheese. I commented to my friendly and somewhat shy server that the pupusa seemed a bit expensive. It was a non descript building in a mini mall so I guess I was expecting cheaper prices. She said today they had a special where the mixto pupusa was $1. I said I'd try that and got two of them. I asked if there were any specials because most of the dinner plates were over $10.99 or more. They did have breakfast plates for less but even a sopa de patas or pork feet soup was $11.50. Wow. She said they had a special fish plate enveloped by egg coming with rice and refried beans for $8.99 so I decided to go with that. It took a few minutes to get my pupusa and I could hear the slapping sound behind the counter so I knew they were being made fresh. Well they were delicious! I topped it with the curtido or cabbage and salsa and enjoyed it a lot. Then the server brought out the other plates and it was a lot of food! The fish was good, it had some bones on the edges so I had to eat carefully but the filet was tasty in the tomato sauce and the mix of the rice and beans all went well together. I also got a bowl of two freshly made tortillas too and I had to bring one home because it was a filling meal. Overall I enjoyed my dinner and I'm glad I stopped in. Who knew this would be an FTR too. Good pupusa, I'll be back on Tuesdays. read more

Sooooo bad. I ordered yucca con chicharrón and the chicharrón was dry and burnt, like you literally need a bottle of water to wash it down. The leche in las empanadas was burnt and bumpy, not smooth. A group of my colleagues and I were searching for a restaurant during our lunch break while attending some new training for work. None of us could decide on a place to eat and we were using up our time walking down the street in an unfamiliar neighborhood. We decided to give Los Tres Amigos a try because a few of us were hungry for pupusas. Also, there was an "A" rating in the window. I have had pupusas from many different restaurants (and homes), and I will say that these were among the best that I've had. I also tried the Pan con Pollo, which was among the best ever too. One colleague decided to try the Salpicon...muy rico. Another tried the Guisquil (Chayote) Relleno. I will try that next time. The others had pupusas or Pollo Asado. Everything was delicious! I will definitely go there again, but when I have more time. Although the food was excellent, the service was slow. We were late to our training and walked in sheepishly...15 mins late with ToGo boxes in tow...lol. Another funny moment was when the waitress made a mistake on my order. I had ordered 2 Panes con pollo and 1 loroco con queso pupusa. What she brought me was 1 pan con pollo and 3 pupusas, but I didn't mind at all. My wife and I ordered a variety platter to share. Meat was seasoned well, rice/beans were tasty, cheese salad was good, shrimp was a nice additon. Served with two corn based tortillas like arepas. We also ordered two papusas, side order of rice and beans and a chicken tamale. The chicharron papusa was very good! I liked that the rice and beans were mixed together and there was great flavor. All in all, our meal for the food was about $30 and we had food for the next day as leftovers. Very good prices and the quality of the food was excellent. If you want to come to a good salvy place this is a good neighborhood. But, it's not this place. We have been here over 15 times. First off we know it's a longgggg wait but we are ok with it when the food is good. I came in with my family today and we ordered Bistek Encebollado, Pollo Guisado, and a Plate with Plantains, Beans, and Crema. When the order came out we received Plantains (for my kids) Bistek Encebollado, and Pollo Frito. I called the server back and told her what happened and she started to blame it on me and say it was my fault. I asked for what I originally ordered, Pollo Guisado, and about 3 minutes later came out the Pollo Guisado Plate and the Chicken was hot on the outside and freezing on the inside. The bone was so cold it had to have come directly out of the refrigerator. I asked for the bill and told her I'd pay for everything but the cold Chicken Plate. She then brought me a bill for $34. Dont go there. It was the worst experience ever. Friends of mine wanted to go to try something new .the server had a bad attitude when she took our order like she was in a hurry when there was like almost nobody there. it took forever to get our orders . and when we got it it had 3 strands of hairs. We showed the server and said it was mine when the hair color was a dark one and i have light color hair. She didnt say sorry or offer to replace it . my friends meal came out cold and burnt like they reheated someone else food and gave it to us.i asked for a cup of water and found small pieces of food floating in it . And for goodness' sake, it's a mom and pop place with everyone sitting around watching telenovelas... what are you in such a hurry for? Have haven this place many chances and wanted to like it cause it's so near my home but if I could I would give it zero stars. Once I ordered a pan con pollo and it came with a whole chicken leg with bones and all. A different time I ordered the jamon con huevo breakfast and she fist brought me the wrong plate and then when they brought my correct plate they put the wrong sides and the egg was undercooked.
