From Pupusas to delicious aguas frescas and they also make fresh quesadilla (Salvadorian sweet cornbread) you must come try this place. It will not disappoint, they usually keep busy any day. But again it is worth the wait. They now have pupusas that do not contain cheese. So that is a big plus for me. Their pupusas are beautifully stuffed and flavors are on point. Restrooms are clean, staff are nice and they speak English in case you need it. Parking is available but usually full. There is sufficient parking on the street as it is next to the police station. Ended up here for a birthday dinner. The parking lot is small, but I did not have any trouble finding a spot when I got there but it was packed as I was heading out. We were seated fairly quickly for our party of 10. The restaurant itself isn't huge; they have about 12 tables all together. It's a little cozy and they had a Christmas tree when I was there which I liked. Their bathrooms are located outside of the restaurant next to their patio seating. Now, the food. So, I'm a huge pupusa snob. I have very high expectations for pupusas, and I have to say that these pupusas did not blow me away. They were good, don't get me wrong. But they weren't finger-licking-must-have-another-even-though-I-can't-possibly-eat-more-good. The curtido was nice and acidic and their sauce was a little too watery for my taste but had good flavor. I also enjoyed some yuca frita con chicharon and that was solid. I had an atole the elote and that was very yummy. I could go back for that alone. I also shared the carne asada plate with my boyfriend and that was nothing special. It came with white rice and beans which were better than the meat, in my opinion. What really stood out to me was the service. It was good. The servers were on it the whole time. They made sure we had everything we needed and were very kind to everyone at the restaurant. Would I travel all the way out to vermont and 60th place for these pupusas? Probably not. But, if you're in the area and have a craving of comida Salvadorena then give this place a try. read more

My go to is the Casamiento and a Pupusa de Frijol, Queso y Loroco - which is usually a little more than enough food for one since the portions have gotten smaller. In terms of beverages, the horchata is refreshing and the coffee is so comforting. Service is friendly, but can be a little slow because it is a popularly busy spot. The size of the pupusas are so big and thick. I got full off of one and was happy to save the second for leftovers. The wait during lunch on a Thursday was a bit long. We were there this past Sunday. Seems like they opened right before 9. We got there around 915am and some customers were already eating. We sat outside...we got here right before the wait times started. We all ordered coffee...yummm. I also ordered atol de elote which is a warm corn drink. I ordered 3 pupusas. I ordered corn pupusa with beans, lorroco, and cheese, 2nd one was a corn pupusa with pork, beans and cheese, and the third one was made of rice dough filled with pork and cheese. These pupusas are super filling. I had the third one to go. The dough is soft and not fried or dry. The flavor is just perfect. My favorite one was the rice dough pupusa. You must order one. The waitress was super attentive and there was a waiter doing code rounds with its portable coffee pot. Very nice crew. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend coming here as soon as they open to avoid the rush. There is a parking area in the back of the restaurant or street parking. read more

The pupusa was cooked perfectly. Not over cooked/burnt/hard or undercooked/to doughy. Right in between. And these are big boys too. I usually eat three but I was tapped after two. This location is always busy..there will almost never be a day that I don't drive by and see people outside waiting. The thing with Salvadorian food is it takes time to make which is fine since the food is always delicious. I usually go to the location on 37th and Western but it has looked closed recently.Either way this location is nicer looking and has a decent sized parking lot. We were a big group but noticed that our tables that were meant to be joined together were just left there not moved for a good while so that kind of explains why people are always standing outside since it does take a minute for them to set up tables that are not for 2 or 4. The restaurant is clean but there is really bad ventilation. The air circulation is not flowing at allll inside. If you are claustrophobic I would suggest to sit outside. The best dishes here are the soups and the entrees such as the garlic shrimp, carne asada plate and the chicken with mushrooms. Also the salpicon. Also the breakfast is delicious! Don't get the pupusas many times the masa is slightly under and the beans taste on the cusp of being burnt. Some people do like them but I've got them twice and have had better.
