    sausage with cheese omelette

BRING CASH!!! THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!! Came here for brunch before the Barbie movie on the second day it was released. It was very lively and there was a short wait (10-15 min) because we wanted a booth seat. The atmosphere is very reminiscent of an old school diner which I think is soo charming. LOVED the omelettes, they were a lot of food for a reasonable price (both my bf and I could only finish half of ours, so we got a takeout box to go). Super standard, yummy diner food. I loved my veggie with cheese omelette but the sausage with cheese one was delicious as well. Would definitely come back again and next time I will learn my lesson and split the omelette instead of each getting one!

This might be my new favorite small local diner. It's a quintessential small diner with all your favorite traditional diner food. Like many other diners, there are no substitutions. Service was extremely friendly and super fast. It's very kid friendly. Prices are very reasonable, and there is abundant metered parking in the lot surrounding it. I'm a little unsure if it would be wheelchair friendly because of how the walkways are arranged as they are narrow. Be aware it's cash only, but there is an atm there you can use for $2.

Omg! You have to come here for the omelettes. They are absolutely huge and I could only eat a third. Made with 5-6 eggs for the same price as other breakfast places. Under $10.50 with Scali bread and home fries. Been in business here for over 30 years and the owner was a great guy. The help are all wonderful people as well, so no wonder it's a local to go place. Remember, cash only. That's how they keep prices low.

    Delicious bacon and eggs!

Had the best old school breakfast here havent been here in years and glad to see its still here! Great food, small place very busy , made to order may take a little while longer to get your food but worth it awesome stop!

The omelette w all the meats in it. Forgot the name.

Best breakfast around by far! Such an amazing deal too! Everything I've had here is so good but I usually come in the weekend mornings and the yummy sounding lunches aren't available . Anyways, breakfast is good. They always make perfect eggs and give you one extra! The meat lover equivalent omelette was great. Way too much food but full of bacon ham and sausage. What I really love here is the old school feel. The booths are perfect with the isles between. Cash only as it should be. I just wish they had upgradeable maple syrup, only like buttersworth type stuff.

Decent omelette w scali toast and ok home fries. Great hangover spot

This is your perfect hangover spot. This place will hit the spot when you need something really greasy and not to sure how to feel after. Prices are cheap and staff is nice. Old school type diner w a decent selection and something for everyone. It can be greasy but sometimes that's ok and needed. Tucked away behind Watertown square across from cvs w plenty of metered parking. You can certainly find worse in the area.

The first thing that stood out was the portion size and value. For around $7.50 you get two scoops of ice cream with whipped cream, a cherry, and a topping of your choice, which already feels generous. If you go for the regular size, you actually get three scoops, which makes it even better for sharing. There are so many flavors available, and we were happy to see that many of the ice creams are eggless, which is great for vegetarians. The texture of the ice cream was incredibly creamy, and the coffee ice cream was especially delicious with a rich, smooth flavor. We also tried the nachos, which were surprisingly really good and made a nice savory snack before dessert. Between the big portions, classic ice cream flavors, and nostalgic dessert-parlor vibe, Cabot's definitely feels like a local hidden gem in the Newtonville area. If you're around Newton or Boston and want a satisfying ice cream dessert, this place is worth checking out.

The space is super vibrant, filled with bold colors, retro diner touches, and a bunch of quirky statement pieces that make you want to look around before you even check the menu. It feels playful and energetic without being overwhelming...definitely a place that stands out from your typical brunch spot. One of the most unique things about this place is the drink menu. I loved that you can order flights...not just for mimosas, but also spritzers/mixed drink and even coffee-inspired drinks. That's not something you see everywhere, and it made the whole experience feel a little more elevated and fun. Everything we tried was solid across the board. The drinks were well-made, balanced, and honestly just fun to try in a flight format. The menu itself keeps that same energy going with quirky, pop culture-inspired names that make ordering more entertaining than usual. But it's not just about the names, the food actually delivers. The chicken and waffles were a standout: crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the sweetness of the waffle. The traditional breakfast was done right too: simple, classic, and exactly what you'd want when you're craving something familiar. The real surprise for me was the crispy pimento potato bowl with chicken. It was packed and layered with flavor: comforting, a little indulgent, and definitely filling. You can tell they're intentional about how they build their dishes, not just throwing things together. Shoutout to our waitress as well...she really made the experience better. She gave great recommendations, helped us navigate the menu (which has a lot of options), and made sure we picked dishes we'd actually enjoy. That kind of service goes a long way, especially at a busy brunch spot.

Not only did I forget; I didn't realize until I had completely finished my meal! Hence, sorry but no food photos! lol This little luncheonette only has 4 booths for 4 ppl and 1 table for two; there are also a few counter seats along the wall. But on a Saturday morning, we didn't really have to wait, as we got the last available booth. Yay!! Customer service was so friendly and welcoming; and fast! Eddie, the owner, even came over to say hello! Great hospitality! They serve the basic diner breakfast stuff (eggs, omelettes, pancakes French toast, etc), as well as a lunch menu (burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc), as well as side items and dessert. I had the best Western Omelette, which came with home fries, and toast. This omelette was fantastic; no joke! All the veggies were fresh and the eggs were prepared perfectly. Most diners tend to over cook their eggs but this omelette was perfect. My pumpernickel toast was fantastic also...imagine that! Toasty yet chewey at the same time. A great meal overall! I can't believe I just raved about an omelette but it was seriously THAT good! Recommended, and I would certainly return to try other menu items, or another omelette!
