Waltham isn't my usual stomping grounds but I had to be there for a few hours and desperately needed coffee. Fortunately I found Roots to Rise. The coffee is great, very reasonably priced and while their menu is pretty extensive I eat plant-based so it was a bonus to see they offer so many options! (The Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats is delicious and hit the spot!) Super clean and inviting space and the staff were great. I'll definitely return when in the area again. read more

Really glad I discovered this place. It's tucked away in a corner of Waltham right off the highway, and it's in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. Right away I was impressed by the modern and clean vibes inside. They offer many take out options too of proteins and salads and it other stuff which was cool. Can come here if you need meal prep items. They also have a grab and go vending machine type thing by the front door if you're in a rush. I wanted lunch so I ordered the crispy chicken wrap. I also orders the paradise smoothie. The nice employee brought me my smoothie and it was soo good. Fresh and tasty, just what I wanted. He then brought my wrap, it was so good. The chicken paired with the honey mustard and veggies were great! All the ingredients tasted fresh and it was a good sized wrap too. I really enjoyed my experience here and glad that there's a healthier option in this city! It was busy too considering it's right across from the hotels and businesses in Waltham! Good food, plenty of healthy options to choose from! My bacon egg and cheese wrap was good and I could tell it was fresh. However, if the egg was scrambled and the bacon was in pieces, it would have filled the wrap up more because I mostly tasted the wrap and had to take some of it off. The strawberries & yogurt was ok, but the granola was mushy when I expected it crunchy (maybe because they come prepackaged?). It only came with 4 small sliced strawberries. I feel like there was way too much yogurt and not enough other ingredients to balance it out. The coffee is the best part!!!! Best large cup of coffee I've had in awhile. I think I wasted my money and should have just stuck with a coffee. read more

Came back here to check in after COVID is mostly over .. sadly the prices have gone up so much that they're no longer proportional to everybody else's price increases in food. An egg and cheese sandwich at $10 that's ok but not absolutely fantastic is just not worth it. You can get comparable or better food at pressed in Burlington for 40% of the price in many cases or you can go to the Dunkin' Donuts right next-door and get slightly worse food for much cheaper. I'm not sure I see the point in coming here anymore unfortunately. If you're on a business credit card by all means come on in, but if it's your money, I think it's hard to recommend. Today is probably my last visit to the place . Good fresh food, but out of whack pricing unless you're on a business trip or trapped in an airport. read more

I'm glad this place opened up because the area needed it. The food selection is good and they have coffees. I liked the seating inside. The açaí bowl was pretty standard $15. The service was quick. The only thing I did not like that the ventilation system does not work good and there is a strong food smell inside. read more

this morning i wanted something light and healthy for breakfast. the guy at the counter was so kind and helped recommend a vegan smoothie for me. i got the antioxidant smoothie and it's DELICIOUS! we took out the greek yogurt, replaced for oat milk and added vegan protein powder. usually green smoothies are a hit or miss for me but this one was amazing! sure it's similar to your average healthy foods restaurant. but i LOVE those kind of places! and i'm so happy to waltham has one now!!! super convenient off the highway, close to a bunch of offices and hotels. it's the perfect place if you're willing and want to make healthy choices and eat clean. i personally experienced practically no wait time except for watching him literally make my smoothie. we had a great convo about homemade oat milk. if you have a longer wait time than you'd like, remember they're making your food fresh!! you also definitely get your money's worth here! my $9 smoothie is huge and could definitely feed 2 people. read more

I was looking for coffee, but then noticed a sign that said Roots to Rise right next door. It's not a normal restaurant where you have staff on standby to prepare the food or wait at the register. Instead, it's a vending machine (fridge) that you select and swipe your card. Then the fridge unlocks and you take out your item and the receipt will be sent to your email. After, there is an area for you to enjoy your meal. I got the Asian Chop salad, which was surprisingly filling, but I overdid it with the dressing. They put more than enough in it. read more

Originally found this place on yelp and after trying it in surprise it doesn't have 4+ starts (yet?). I work up the street and needed to grab breakfast before an early meeting. I got the overnight oats and they were so delicious I decided to come back to try a wrap at lunch. I got the chicken ceasar wrap and it was delicious. Great spot for a healthy breakfast or lunch. Next time I'll try the smoothies (which look to be made with real & fresh fruit) and the coffee with a baked good. read more

Affordable. Delicious. The holy quadrinity. Everything you could ever want. Close down all other restaurants we got a winner. Yelp finally found its place. Stopped in here on a whim after ordering ahead, got a hibiscus iced tea which was pretty delicious, with great crushed ice. And a chia pudding, which was tasty, only somewhat on the warm side for some reason? While the ambiance was nice the service was not at all helpful nor the price for the food and drink. For a regular coffee and yogurt and açaí to go was $30 which was a bit outrageous. It wasn't worth the money as it wasn't even that great. This place does not serve vegan-based lattes as they have a machine that has milk already set in it when they do their lattes. So, if you're looking for a good cup of vegan based coffee or lattes, this isn't the place. And don't waste your time or money. The yougutt was horrible as it was thick and tasteless. First off, if you're coming here for a "quick" meal, you should order online in advance. I ordered a warm bowl and a smoothie at around 11:20am, requested it be ready for noon. I got there just past noon and still had an additional 15-20 minute wait. Food is inconsistent. I've had a few of their wraps and those are fairly simple and straight forward. The warm bowl I got today...well...the "sauce" was very watery. Could've used a bit more salt or something. Not super flavorful. And definitely not worth that wait. The smoothies are pretty good. Pricing is what it is. A little high for the inconsistent food quality and the terrible wait times. For quick casual in the immediate area, not a ton of choices so I think they'll benefit from that. I hate to say it but I think if there were other similar options in this strip mall, they probably wouldn't last long. I love to support small businesses and I do understand that there are always shortages of staff etc. But I think they still need some fine-tuning. read more

This is a totally awesome place. Delicious, healthy, affordable food. Everything was amazing, the smoothies, the avocado toast, the açaí bowls. We were staying in the nearby Hyatt House hotel and discovered this place on our first morning as we were looking for a place to have breakfast and we liked it so much we went there every morning during our week stay. I visited Roots to Rise in Waltham and I just paid $12.00 for a small Chicken Caesar Salad wrap it was one of the driest Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps I have ever had, it seemed there was 1/4 of the Caesar Dressing that was supposed to be on the sandwich was actually there. It was near the end of the day, if they ran out of some of the components for the sandwich to be made properly, they should have said something. A couple of bites in the on each side of the cut wrap tasted great, a bite or two into each half of the wrap went dry. It's a newly opened store, I would suggest waiting months before visiting this location until they get their quality control and standards in line, I won't try them again for 6 months. On a positive note, the cafe did look antiseptics yummy clean. read more
