Stoped for breakfast and they made the most perfect over easy ive ever had. No crisp or runny biz but perfect. I also asked for extra crispy hash browns and they were also perfect. This is always a great place to eat at, any time of the day. The food is full of flavor and has great pricing. My boyfriend said this place has a great burger, the best in town. We are usually passing through Jacksboro 1-2 times a month heading to our hunting property. I don't know how it worked out that we were able to stop for breakfast once on our way back home, but now it's become a must-do on every trip. An old school diner at its best, and we have had both a table and sat at the bar, mesmerized watching the line cooks keep it all together. We have had struggles finding a good over-easy egg lately, and village kitchen delivers! I love the Cowboy omelette, and everything else we see coming out looks great too. I have never in my entire 22 years of life ever had a waitress this horrible, my waitress named Kira or whatever her name was made me never want to eat at a restaurant ever again. My husband and I stopped in this small town hole-in-the-wall for a late breakfast this weekend. Usually small town restaurants are really hit or miss, but we were definitely not disappointed by the quality of the Village Kitchen. Although it initially took us a few minutes to get a server after sitting, we then had quick and regular service throughout the rest of the meal. The coffee was good and fresh. My husband and I both got their new philly omelet--it was also very delicious. It was cooked well with a well seasoned blend of meat, onions, and peppers. The hashbrowns were good, but nothing spectacular. Their biscuits were also good. The check was brought in a timely manner as well breakfast probably only took 30 minutes total, and was much better than anticipated. I'll be sure to stop here again if I'm driving through the area and need a good breakfast! read more

Great Diner with breakfast served all day. Friendly wait staff and fast service even though they were slammed. Super clean restrooms. Our kids had a breakfast burrito and fish and French fries. They enjoyed it. I had pancakes sausage and hash browns. 1 pancake will do. It's the size of the plate. It is their own recipe and it's so so yummy. Husband had fish and black eyed peas. He likes the fish a lot. Everything tasted fresh. The tarter sauce was homemade as well. We are so glad to have found this on our trip through. We'll be stopping back on other trips. read more

The cream waffles are AMAZING!!!!! I normally drown waffles in syrup which means by the time I get to the last bite it is soggy but not these. Lite, crispy, delicious discs of pure heaven! My husband had an omelette with their salsa that was made in house and he is still talking about the dish two days later. Our breakfast burritos were not made how we ordered them, but they tasted good. Our bill was incorrect as well ($5.50 + $6.99 came to over $27) but they corrected it. Our experience is much the same as Bill R. Wife and I walked in sat ourselves and got ignored. The waitress was at the door told us to seat ourselves so we did. She then proceeded to grab a coffee pot and walk by us twice. Then she went to the bar where she looked over at us then tried to find something else to do. After a minute or so of standing around behind the bar in the way another customer came in. The waitress immediately grabbed a menu and went to ask for a drink order. We just got up to leave and were asked if we needed something on the way out. As the Lord said when we come to a place we're not welcome to shake the dust off our shoes. I highly recommend the pecan waffle. Bits of pecan mixed into the batter and cooked in the waffle iron. The breakfast burrito was good. The bacon was done crispy. Eggs over medium were cooked perfectly. Hash browns were good. The only things I didn't like about this place was when they brought my coffee out they set the little bowl of creamer in my mug. I don't know about you but I don't want the bottom of something sitting where I'm gonna drink from and I don't want whatever is on the bottom of that bowl swimming in my coffee. (Just the same as not touching the rim of a glass with your finger tips that someone is going to drink from?) The other thing is the pancakes were dense and I needed a steak knife to cut them. We walked in and sat ourselves as the sign read. The waitress immediately brought us menus and asked what we wanted to drink. She also gave us the option of getting the grits before the rest of the food. The large pancakes are as big as the plate and really good. The gravy was amazing and the best gravy I've ever tasted. We both drank water which was also good. Not all places have good water and it's pretty much all I drink so I mentioned it because there's nothing like getting bad water. The staff was friendly and attentive. The price was also good and comparable to other places we've stopped at. If you need breakfast this is definitely a place to try. Stopped for breakfast on Sunday morning. Was referred here by friends who'd been here several times. This is a diner type restaurant with plenty of booths, tables and counter seating. Our server was pleasant and efficient. She easily answered a couple of menu questions I had, and our meals were delivered hot in a short time. The menu is diverse and several new items were posted on the wall and on a sign board when entering. One that caught my eye was chicken and dumplings. Had it not been breakfast time I would have ordered this as its a fav of mine. The location is easy on and off the highway with plenty of parking. I would definatley stop here againg if in the area. As mentioned by another reviewer the weekend closing hour is 2pm. But hey, everyone needs some time off. read more
