She has her car towed to Chad Miller Auto Care and calls me to say she needs a new battery and is being quoted $645. I ask her to hand her phone to an employee, and when I asked why this is so expensive the employee raised their voice at me. I asked for a manager and was informed it was Chad himself I was talking to. I would NOT suggest this mechanic. He is unprofessional and perpetuates the negative stereotype of crooked mechanics preying on young women.

Mine has an oil leak at least 4 different places haven't been able to figure out. Chad's garage gave me some hope, but they were never able to fix it. I take pretty much all "guarantees" with a grain of salt. "Bring it back"...pffft why would I? You couldn't fix it the First time? More likely, I'll just be dumping more money in sonl you can "half fix it" a 2nd time. One mechanic even told my wife to "hit the dash when her A/C wasn't kicking on...AFTER they fixed it. GTFO... Really!? Cost wasn't exactly on the cheap side...maybe fair, but ONLY if they fix the problem. My impression is they had way more cars than they could handle and were trying to rush them outa there. Fair enough, but I will not be taking either of ours back. Fair warning to those that do.

I am a teacher and public servant and yesterday I put in a 12 hour work day where I rarely sat in one location and was constantly mobile. My rest is valuable. Upon reflection, NO I won't be by Tuesday which is your earliest convenience so you can scan my car for more issues that your team has caused. I will go to my trusted mechanic and never use Valvoline again. In fact I have already begun warning my friends of your incompetent and rude services. I thought the manager was professional but his cute giggle after my call explaining I could not make it this morning and would be in this afternoon sealed the deal. Arrogance, rude, ridiculous arrogance. I have used this location for upward of 20 years not consistently but whenever I am in the neighborhood and need an oil change. The new guard is young, and barely speak. Bark orders at you from the moment you roll in, and then do the classic up-sell. They up-sold me an air filter on April 17th and I bit. The next day my car was jerking (old manager boy let me know that there is a difference between jerking and shaking as if that were super critical to me and my situation.) I am a teacher and have few days off of luxury. I took a day to run errands and returned to Valvoline to let them know that something was wrong. Alas they showed my the air filter box they had broken. They scrambled and scratched heads, called manager. I sat at their place for more than two hours of my day. They finally told me they would do a temporary fix for my car and the part would be in four days later. The fix. The fix was in a Home Depot bag on my engine. Tape. They taped my damaged air box together. It jerked and shook more as per my laments understanding of my car. I felt concerned this could further damage my engine. I contacted corporate and have yet to hear from them either. Taped my air filter box. Tape. I could have had my early elementary school children do the temporary fix. I got the call for the part in two days. Maybe corporate called them to repair this. Who knows? I've communicated with 0 professionals. They replaced the filter with a new one (they showed me the box.) I drove away and low and behold, when it idles it JERKS. I came back. A young mechanic tells me that's what happens when a vehicle has over 100,000 miles on it. What a laugh. My vehicle has about 67,000 miles on it and was fine before any Valvoline folks laid their hands on it. Old manager comes on out and drives it. That's when my wording was corrected. Sir, my wording doesn't matter. Fix what you broke. Yep, it's jerking. He pokes around, I stand around, he unscrews, etc, etc, etc. Says he needs a scanner to check. Tells me to come in tomorrow. I am a teacher. I have 0 tomorrows. Tells me to come in 7-8am Saturday. I worked over a twelve hour shift yesterday. I need my car, I need it to work well, and you need to meet my timeline because my car had 0 issues until your service center. ZERO. I call to come in this afternoon. He won't be there. As a manager you should probably be there to fix what your team broke, to make right, to rectify. These mechanics and this manager seem to give no cares about the consumer. The Valvoline office is obviously the same. I am very curious to see what my solid and steadfast mechanic will tell me you all did to my car. Not you, not Tuesday and not ever. I will use my mechanic for my oil changes. Not this crew. If you like to gamble on the health of your vehicle, go to them for a quick change. Otherwise use someone with integrity.

Luckily I have been fortunate with no issues but we had a diagnosis for a large job on another vehicle that I wanted a second opinion on because I had a gut feeling. Lo and behold. Seymour's rocks. My mechanic shop is better than yours!!!

1 STAR - AVOID AT ALL COSTS…read more I trusted Seymour's Garage with my primary work truck for an engine rebuild that cost me $9,677.11. What followed has been one of the most stressful and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a repair shop. Within weeks of picking up the truck, it began losing oil at an alarming rate. I had to return it, where they admitted an oil leak related to their rebuild--but still charged me for oil. The problem never stopped. The engine was clearly defective from the start. On December 17, the truck broke down again in Austin and had to be towed back to San Antonio. After another mechanic advised there was a serious internal engine failure, Seymour's took the truck back on December 19, repeatedly telling me for weeks that this was being handled under warranty and that I needed to "be patient." After months of assurances, I was suddenly told the warranty would not be honored and that I would need to buy a completely new engine. No explanation. No documentation. Just a reversal of everything they had told me. During my most recent phone call with Matthew, the situation turned outright hostile. He became aggressive, told me to "come and get your f**ing truck,"* and then hung up on me. At the same time, he threatened to leave my truck outside on the street, even though it is not operable and is still in their possession. As of today, they still have my truck. Because of Seymour's Garage, I've suffered: Nearly $10,000 lost on a failed engine rebuild Loss of my work vehicle Towing costs Rental vehicle expenses Property damage from oil leaks Business interruption and lost income Extreme stress caused by false assurances and abusive conduct This shop took my money, failed to stand behind their work, misled me about warranty coverage, and then responded with threats and profanity instead of accountability. If you value your vehicle, your livelihood, or basic professional treatment--do not bring it to Seymour's Garage.
