They no showed for the appointment. Called later on & apologized and asked to reschedule. Sure. Will came out & seemed competent. Said he'd be in touch with an estimate. It's been 2 MONTHS now. I was scared when my air conditioner stopped working, because it's medically necessary for me to have cool air all year round. My old AC and furnace were 20 years old and I decided to replace both because that made the best financial sense. There are SO many HVAC companies. SO MANY! I went to Yelp and sorted by ratings while looking for companies that were not too far away from where I lived. Despite TRG Heating and Cooling not having a very descriptive name, their reviews were very high and all of the comments were just intensely enthusiastic (kinda like this one is!). I'm immunocompromised, and before I could finish telling Will will that I would need him and any of his staff to wear a respirator while in my home, he said that he had one with him him and that they're familiar with precautions for immunocompromised clients. Most of my healthcare providers fail in this area, but this HVAC company knows what to do? He did a few measurements, and then checked out my compressor on the roof, and then he chatted with me for longer than I thought we might. The first quote I received made it clear that he was listening to me about what I needed for my home. After a 30-40 minute phone call, Will drafted a second quote that was almost perfect. I asked for one change, and then they installed a furnace, hear pump, and some accessories a few days later. You can see the new compressor on the roof in one picture, and the other two pictures are the before and after for my HVAC closet. Will and his team made everything so easy for me, including registering all the products for me. Will came out 2 weeks ago for an estimate on a small furnace and AC condenser replacement. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and on time. I was impressed with his demeanor and easy communication style. We went through the diagnosis and all seemed on track for an estimate. Two weeks later and after a couple of attempts to get an estimate, I still have not received one, email/text/or mail. So, I cannot attest to the quality of the product or installation, but I am disappointed that for some reason the estimate was never produced. Bummer. We hired TRG to install a new heat pump and furnace for our house. The existing furnace and condensing unit were 25+ years old and beyond end of life. This review was in no way requested. In fact, I'm writing about service we had 7 months ago. In fall, TRG performs an annual preventive maintenance visit to service our aged heating system and PTAC HVAC unit. The inspection was careful and thorough, potential problems were explained and demonstrated, and recommendations were provided in language I could understand. TRG's charge was very reasonable. Our Chicago 2023-4 winter brought the usual polar vortexes, with long spells of subfreezing - even subzero - weather and storms that made driving treacherous. I prayed every day that the heating system was up to the challenge and worried about the freezing pipes that could result, if it failed. Thanks to TRG, there was no reason for concern. The team at TRG are very professional, timely and efficient. They took all safety precautions regarding Covid which made my family feel very comfortable. We have used TRG to replace a water heater and an HVAC unit. We also use them for our HVAC maintenance. Each time they come to our house, they complete the work in a timely manner and clean up any mess. When removing our old water heater, the metal edge ripped our thread hold weatherstripping. How do I give more than 5 stars?? Craig and Will were super professional and friendly! We started with a quick phone call and i messaged over some photos of the issue. They came by the next day super prepared and explained everything they were doing in layman's terms. The work was done quickly, precisely and within budget. Our AC went out in the middle of the hottest week we had this summer, and despite all of the techs being booked, Will made time to come out at the end of his work day. He was able to breathe some life into our old unit & get us back up and running in short order. He was incredibly courteous & informative, and could not have been more prompt nor generous with his time, even though he was clearly working overtime to get us cool again. The part he needed wasn't on the truck, but he was back the next day with it, and gave me some great pointers on how & when to maintain my system to get a few more years out of it. Will was phenomenal in helping my parents with diagnosing and resolving their HVAC issues. He was able to quickly assess their AC was poorly wired (done by former HVAC company) and rewired and tested in a few hours. During the hottest part of the summer this year our outside A/C unit stopped working. We had another 3-4 days of 90+ weather in the forecast. We called 3 different companies and no one was able to come out for at least a week.Finally, we did what we should have done first. We called TRG and they came out the next day and quickly diagnosed the issue. They were very straight forward with their assessment and gave us some hard truths that we needed to hear. TRG gave us our options, and within 48 hours we had cold air pumping through our home. After having our options carefully explained to us, we opted to replace our entire A/C unit inside and outside. In the long run, we know that we made the best decision because TRG explained the savings that would occur with the choice that we made. TRG's technicians and engineers were very thorough and they provided us with all the information and details that we needed to know for us to get the most out of our new A/C system. Our heating unit has got some years behind it, but we are not worried because TRG will come through once again.
