I called when they opened and secured an appointment within the hour for a standard SMOG test for the DMV. Upon arrival just park and walk in, provide your DMV paperwork and your keys. They will get the order written up. Start to finish once the vehicle is in the bay is about 15 minutes. Let me start by saying we have been taking our vehicles here for years to be smogged. After our experience on the morning of June 18, we will never bring another vehicle back here or recommend this place to anyone. I called on June 1 at 9:07am and spoke to the lady who has worked the counter there for years and made an appointment for June 18 at 8am for a smog. We arrive June 18 for our smog appointment and she says she doesn't have it on the schedule. When I even went back to my call logs to see the date and time I called to make the appointment, she then admitted that it was on her wall calendar, but not on another calendar or schedule, and that it was totally her fault. While I appreciate her admitting that it was her fault she did nothing to make it right. She said they already had three people there for appointments and they could not fit us in. Came here for the first time being 21 with my stock 350z walked in and told her I was excited to finally get her on the road as I just replaced my engine, her face dropped and she didn't want to run it thinking I swapped to a modified engine. Had to tell her I'm fine with paying if it doesn't pass just to get her to run it. Ended up passing so brought my other cars here, no issue. UNTIL I had to get another smog for the same 350Z that literally only had the tires changed on it just for them to "not willing to run it due to the K&N air filter. A STOCK REPLACEMENT AIR FILTER. I'm no mechanic but even I know an air filter doesn't affect smog AT ALL. Sadly it's a race thing as full American people have no issues but a younger mixed guy walks in and it's attitude up the ass??? I went in on a Monday morning. So glad it wasn't busy at all even though the parking lot was full. I arrived around 1045am and Marlene was helping another customer. Once she finished with him, I gave her my paperwork and let her know I just needed my commuter to pass in order to get my registration sticker, as I already paid for it. She was friendly and let me know it would be just a few minutes. I sat in the lobby and waited about 15 minutes before she told me it was done. Sweet! I paid for the certificate and went on about my day. The cost was $64.95 and you get $10 off if you check in on the Yelp app. The service was fast and friendly, and now I just need to wait for the sticker to be mailed to me. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SMOG We took our car in for a smog check this morning, fully confident it would pass. It's a well maintained 8yr old vehicle with low mileage, no check engine lights, and no performance issues. Despite this, the shop failed to check the OBD readiness monitors before beginning the test. The smog report clearly stated that the vehicle was "not ready," which automatically results in a failure under California law. That means they ran the test knowing in advance that it couldn't pass and they charged us anyway. After driving around for a bit, we returned and asked them to recheck the OBD status first and retest the vehicle now that it had likely completed its self checks. They refused unless we paid again. In CA, smog stations are required to check OBD readiness monitors before initiating a full smog check. If those monitors aren't ready, the test should not proceed. Running it anyway without disclosure is negligent and reportable to the Bureau of Automotive Repair. This experience turned what should have been a quick, routine smog check into a frustrating waste of time and money. It felt like we were being taken advantage of, not helped. Update: Hi Jeff, The issue isn't with whether or not the vehicle was ready the issue is that your team ran the test anyway, knowing it would result in a failure, and didn't give us the opportunity to address the monitor status beforehand. Per California BAR guidelines "A Smog Check inspection must not be conducted on a vehicle that is not ready for testing. The inspector must verify that the required OBD readiness monitors are complete before proceeding." Your team didn't do that. You ran the full test and charged us for it without warning, which violates both the intent and spirit of the testing protocol. That is not transparency it's avoidable, negligent practice. Your explanation continues to avoid responsibility for how the situation was handled. The test did fail due to an incomplete OBD monitor, specifically the oxygen sensor. That's not just an "incomplete" result its a failure, both functionally and legally, per BAR standards and the Vehicle Inspection Report. BAR's guidance is clear, Readiness monitors should be checked prior to the full test, and customers should be informed and given the opportunity to address the issue before being charged for a guaranteed fail. That didn't happen. Your staff ran the test, failed the car, and only told us afterward that the monitor wasn't ready. That is not transparency, and it's not how responsible smog shops operate. Also, the fact that after driving the car around for a bit and taking it to another shop, the car then passed smog. That EXPLAINS enough! This review is not about damaging a business with good reviews. It's about holding a shop accountable when it fails to follow proper procedures. I stand by every word of this review. read more

Amazing and honest shop! Marlene helped explain what we needed to have done with our daughter's car to complete the I/M monitors to get her car smogged. This car had been a head ache since we bought it and unknowingly had been tampered with. Chevy dealership didn't even find the issue when brought in for issues running. We had the tamper removed as we didn't even know it was there... and the car runs like a new vehicle! I have never had to get a smog before, so I was nervous. So nervous I even left my paperwork in the car after walking in for my appointment. The lady at the desk, her name escapes me now, was so kind. I explained I hadn't done this before. She was patient with me and put me at ease. They have a sign to the left of the desk where you can get a coupon for the service so I was able to get 10 bucks off which was cool.
