We called to set up the consult and our phone call was greeted by a very friendly voice of Chuck who helped get us scheduled. Everyone is so nice, **I should have gone into orthodontics, everyone is so happy here** We came in for the consult and were greeted with water and an awesome check-in experience. Vickie took us on a tour of the whole office which is state of the art, well organized, and beautiful. She helped us with a basic run-down of the experience as well as a little of her personal testimony about braces in general. Both were very helpful as we were clueless. We waited just a bit for Dr. K as she is working in Stone Oak as well for now. Both Vickie and Chuck were talkative and made us feel at home. Dr. K arrived and talked us through the options. She was so thorough and was making us feel understood. She allowed us to schedule the very next week and in order to save time, allowed us to do the pre-braces checklist for pictures and place spacers before we left to save us time. We are at the appointment now to place the braces. They have a variety of payment options to include: CareCredit, an in-house payment plan with down payment, and a percentage off of the total if paid in full. Not sure if this is a promotion but either way, great options. They do take Tricare and are considered in-network which is always a plus. Now for the amenities, I posted pictures which do it no justice but the facility has a brushing station, game room with free Pacman and a charging station for devices. Their medical equipment is top of line. NO GOOPY MOLDS!! They use 3D imaging and it's amazing to be able to see the potential end product. Their X-ray machine is new and very quick. I can't say enough about this place and its staff. We are so lucky to have found them while we are here. Highly Recommend!

For starters, Dr. Newman and Dr. Engel are no longer there, and there was no communication about this when I had just begun my ortho treatment. That's something I would have appreciated transparency on, especially since it directly impacts my care. Secondly the new orthodontist has been disappointing. He doesn't introduce himself, barely interacts, and often just walks in and out without much explanation. It honestly makes me question the purpose of coming in when I could just manage my trays at home and track my own progress at this point. I've also seen that others have had similar concerns. From what I've found, he also has negative reviews elsewhere outside of this practice as well, so this experience feels inconsistent and concerning. I really wish there was more transparency and a higher standard of patient care. At the end of the day, I don't understand keeping a provider who doesn't seem to prioritize patient experience.

On August 16, 2025, I had a permanent crown placed on my right front tooth. During the next 2 weeks…read moreI had mild then progressively worsening pain, redness, and swelling on that tooth. I had chemical allergy testing done and it was determined that I WAS allergic to the compounds used for my temporary crown. I provided that information to the dentist on Sept 22, 2025, who assured me the materials to be used for the permanent crown would be different than the materials that were used for the temporary crown. I started having an allergic reaction in the car on my way home, that got progressively worse; the worst being extreme swelling and redness of my lips, gums, and face and constant peeling lips. I contacted Ideal Dentals corporate office, gave them all the information, requested a refund to my Care Credit account, and requested my dental records. I have not received either of those. I went back to my allergist, whose office called Ideal Dental. The office at Ideal Dental told my allergists office that the materials used for my permanent crown were the same materials that were used for my temporary crown. THEY BASICALLY USED MATERIALS THAT THEY KNEW I WAS ALLERGIC TO, AND LIED ABOUT IT. I filed a formal complaint with TSBDE (Texas State Board of Dental Examiners) in October 2025. Their preliminary investigation warranted a bump up to a full investigation, the result of which I'm still waiting on. It's been almost a year and TSBDE has still not resolved this issue. I held off writing an online review, but I've been waiting too long. Particularly since there is a two-year deadline for filing a dental malpractice suit.
