I was extremely pleased with my recent experience with Tri Valley Car Care. I came in for an oil change since I received a coupon in the mail, I called ahead and made an appointment. Two hours after dropping off my car, I came back to check the status of my service. Unfortunately, there was a delay. The gentleman, I apologize for forgetting names, was super remorseful. I understand things happen so I asked how much longer the wait would be, it would be about another hour or two. The person behind the counter apologized profusely and offered not only to comp my oil change, but also offered me $20 to get lunch. I was blown away by the customer service and thanked them for their offer, I accepted the comp and declined the lunch since I understand that things happen and it was already a kind offer to cover the service. Next time my car needs work, I am calling here first. Thank you! P.S. I definitely recommend tri valley car care for all your car needs! I came here a couple weeks ago to get an oil change for my bf's car and my car serviced for my engine light. The process was super simple and straightforward. They were very upfront about the cost, and the next steps. Communication was very easy through text messages, and the inspection report was very detailed and informative. They tell you what services they recommend on your car and you give them the green light before they start working on it. Normally, I have a lot of anxiety around auto shop because I never know if I could get overcharged, but prices here were very competitive. They took very good care of my car. They even changed the bulb in my car and filled up on the air my tires, free of charge. It was also a very easy process to get my bf's oil change here. They checked other things and gave him the option for more services, but he opted out of them. Again, super convenient that everything was done via text messages. I love that they check everything and let you know of additional services you might want done. Super optional, but very informative! I recommend looking up a coupon before paying to save some money! Faith in humanity has been restored - VERY SATISFIED with this shop. We had always taken our vehicles to another shop but they are no longer taking business. My brother recommended Tri Valley to me so I gave them a call. I had a problem with my husband's truck. It would not start - had it towed to Tri Valley. They quoted me and gave me a timeline that was completely reasonable. After they had looked at the truck, they determined that the problem was not mechanical but with the aftermarket installed alarm system. They offered to have it towed (at their cost) to another shop that could troubleshoot and fix the problem. First of all, I don't know any shop that would go out of their way to do this. I have a towing service so I contacted them to pick it up and take it to the other shop. The guys at Tri Valley were really good to me; they basically diagnosed the problem and had a solution. I know that they spend time doing this, but they did not charge me and for that I am truly grateful. I will be recommending this shop to whoever asks me. The service people at the Oil Changers warned me about a possible brake issue when they recently did an inspection. Although Betsy 11 showed no signs of a brake issue, I scheduled an inspection with Tri Valley. Easy drop off... their inspection found my brakes were fine. Good news...even better...no charge! First of all, let me say that this is a great local business. Every community is better because of locally owned businesses like this one. In 1977, Marty Hernandez started this company in Livermore. He is honest and fair to his customers. His kids, Chris, Julie, and Heather are now taking over the business. Awesome !! BTW - congrats Chris on the new addition to your family. So yesterday, I took my car in for a check engine light. I used my scanner to retrieve the fault code. Suspecting it may be more than I felt comfortable doing, I took it Chris. His tech advised me of the diagnostic fee, and I advised him that I could supply the parts using my own discounted sources. He stated that they could install my parts but couldn't warranty them - totally understandable. Today was a different story. Today's tech advised me that they couldn't install my new parts due to warranty issues. I confirmed that I was not expecting them to warranty my provided parts. He said it's a fairly new policy and still declined to use my new parts, so my parts budget more than doubled using their parts. He said they have had an issue(s) with customers expecting free labor to replace defective customer-provided parts. Well, I am not that customer. If they need to do the labor twice due to my bad decisions on parts, then I should pay for labor twice. I would not expect them to work for free to due my faulty parts. In fact, I could afford to pay another labor charge with my savings in parts and still be money ahead. I was just trying to save money on marked up parts using my jobber pricing. I will continue to do work with Chris and his awesome family, but I am disappointed today that an old customer has been bitten by a new policy because of a handful of P-I-T-A customers. Who is impacted in the end - all of us - the good with the bad. That is not right, especially with our locally-owned family businesses. We need them and their relationships with our community. I have had the pleasure of finding this family owned establishment in the heart of of downtown Livermore as I frequently visit and eat and shop in this lovely city. I was looking for trustworthy, reliable and honest mechanic for my car as I have had really horrible experience with my previous mechanic . I searched on google/yelp and came across this place. They takes appointments online and give you a estimated quote on the cost of the service/repairs which I liked so I can have a breakdown on what the costs and the service being done. The shop is very clean and they get very busy so it is good to call ahead and make an appointment as they don't typically take drive ins unless it's urgent . The service advisor, I believe his name was Juan, but correct me if I'm wrong and I apologize but he was very helpful and organized and was upfront on the wait time. Even though there was a wait time, I was able to walk around downtown Livermore and visit lots of shops along the way. They gave me a copy of the estimate online and also a copy of their inspection. I came in for interval scheduled maintenance and got an oil change and transmission fluid change and they also did a full inspection . So far my car is running smoothly and so far no issues. I plan to bring my car here again for future services as I like their customer service and work. The location is perfect and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but yet so close and convenient. The prices are reasonable and they do a thorough job. They even discovered that one of my reverse light bulbs was out and replaced it . I highly recommend bringing your car here if you want honest and quality work. They may have you leave your car for sometime as they get quite busy which I didn't mind. Will update my review for upcoming services. The have been in busy for at least 40 years since the 1970s and the exterior of the shop is cute and painted very nicely. It's very inviting and organized. Will definitely be back.
