I wanted my car to be checked out before I give it to my daughter who would take it far away, to her school. My car is 15 years old and has over 140000 miles on it. It's a harrowing experience when your car is stolen. In my case, it was found two weeks later in Oakland, with the engine jacked up and a few meth pipes in the cabin. My wife and I got the car detailed, and I went with the recommendation of a friend of mine, a classic car buff, to fix the vehicle. The transmission had to be overhauled and the engine had been overheating from a slow coolant leak. My wife and I found that Ryan not only returned the car to good condition, but he also handled the insurance details gracefully. We have since gone to AutoTron for all our car needs. Ryan, the owner, is frank and honest has done good work on three of our cars now. We've since moved (the original car had been stolen from our parking lot!), but we've continued on with AutoTron. I've been taking my cars to Autotron ever since it opened decades ago. Ryan is the second owner, has been for a long time. I keep coming back to him because he's knowledgeable, fair and responsive. I've had all kinds of car in his care, from full size van to sports car and sedan and SUV in between. An example, my wife had been taking her new car to the dealer for service for warrantee reasons. Some time after the warranty expired, the dealer recommended some service that was estimated at $2,250. I thought that's it, time to go to Ryan. First he said If I were to do it, it would be $400 less, but on the other hand, you don't need it. It's been several years since then and he still hasn't brought up the need to work on that issue. I received the most fantastic treatment from Autotron yesterday. My driver seatback, which has a motor to change the forward-back, up-down position, got stuck. It would go forward but not back to the desired distance from the steering wheel. After trying 3 times to get it to move, I was forced to squeeze in between the steering wheel and seatback, hoping I didn't get rear-ended on the way home to cause the airbag to deploy. After calling several auto repair shops, I found Autotron in the Yellow Pages. Jennifer assured me she'd take me to work while they worked on my car, would pick me up afterward and take me home if they had to keep the car overnight, and would even pick me up the next day to take me back to work again! They tried a few times to release the driver seat position while I was there to no avail but would work on it that day. At 5pm they called me at work to arrange to pick me up, telling me they couldn't find a thing wrong and that the car seemed to have fixed itself. I still expected to pay the $225 diagnostic fee she'd quoted me earlier. Even though she, Colleen and another mechanic all tried during the day to get it to work, she assured me they couldn't charge me ANYTHING as they hadn't really done a thing to the car! Plus, their invoice referred to me as "guest," rather than customer, demonstrating even further the level of respect they have in their business practices. Since they refused to charge me for their time, the only way I can repay them is by giving this glowing review. I'll definitely be using them in the future! read more

Had a great experience here years ago when I had a Chevy but then years later I brought them my new car to explore a weird noise. They had my car for three days, ran through a quarter tank of gas, and left my car filthy. They were nice enough not to charge me over $100 for doing all of this.
