I recently had a pesky rodent problem which was probably attributed to one small critter who on back-to-back nights came through one opening from the exterior of my home and would chew up a flimsy power cable which was fed through into the interior of my home. I reached out to a number of contractors to get consultation on how to attack this problem and prevent repeated return visits from this one critter. Unlike the majority of the five or six other companies I reached out to, Tri-Valley Pest Control was honest and did not try to upsell me on unnecessary additional services. Amongst those companies I had come to my home and provide me an estimate, all but Tri-Valley pest control and one other company were very aggressive in trying to get me to (1) enclose all visible openings from the exterior to prevent rodent entry, (2) set traps, and (3) completely redo the insulation in my attic. Of course the latter cost exceed beyond $10,000. I knew Tri-Valley Pest Control was honest as the technician upon the visit for the estimate offered to do a temporary enclosure where he was able to locate the point of entry to where the damage was happening. Additionally his estimate was the most competitive and fair and reasonable. He allowed me to apply the cost of the temporary enclosure to the full cost of the more permanent enclosures. He was able to come out within the next day or two to complete the permanent enclosure job. Thank goodness I found a Pest Control company that does a great job. Previously I had a pest control company for almost 15 years. I scheduled a consultation with Darren about an ant problem. He was prompt in his communications and arrived on time. He assessed the situation swiftly and determined that the treatments he offers were beyond my particular needs (i.e. I was able to take it from there with consumer-grade products myself). It's rare to find a knowledgeable vendor who does not try to upsell you or trick you into unnecessary services. While I wasn't able to fully use his services today, he left a great impression on me. We heard noises in our bedroom about a month ago and immediately thought rodents had found their way into our attic again. In a panic, we reached out to rodent proofing companies on Yelp. Many companies responded and quite a few were scheduled for estimates. All of the inspectors were convinced the rodents were back with the exception of Darren from Tri Valley. After a thorough inspection and asking probing questions, he said he wasn't convinced we had a rodent issue. To test his theory, he laid out a bait and returned 2 weeks later to check it and sure enough he was correct as the bait was untouched. Darren saved us from what would have been a very expensive job that was completely unnecessary. We are SO very grateful to Darren for his honesty and expertise! Overall the first service was very well done. One huge thing to consider is there is no contract so if he wants to continue, he needs to ensure good quality service and that he was confident. Highly recommend Tri Valley Pest Control. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service for the low cost compared to other companies we've used. We have used at least 3 other bigger pest control companies in the past, but found that they kind of do bare minimum for a lot more money and want you to commit to a contract for long term service. The owner, Darren, of Tri Valley Pest Control is super responsive and did a great job. He customized our pest control service in consideration of our pets and small child - using safer, natural deterrents in areas where they play - and the other more heavy duty pesticides in problem areas near trash cans and such. He even spent quite a while removing all of the spiderwebs on the exterior of our house (there were a lot!) as part of the service. I was initially weary about using a small company but Tri Valley Pest Control used the same exact methods as the big guys and the spider web removal was an added bonus, plus no pressure for a long term contract.
