Something unknown fell into our fireplace through the chimney. It was making noise right above the fireplace flue closure so couldn't figure out what it was. We called terminex but the person apparently can't touch wildlife animal and he ended up referring us to Tex's. I have been pestered for several months with annoying sounds early in the morning over one of my bedrooms. The sounds were as if some creature was in the attic. Steve assured me that if it were a raccoon, as I had thought, it would not stay in just one location. That assessment seemed very reasonable. Steve spent considerable time on the roof inspecting all possible entry points that a raccoon could enter. He found none. Steve Then climbed partially in my attic to inspect to see if there was an opening any where in the roof. he found none. At any rate, I asked him to set a trap for the raccoon. He did so. After several days the trap was untouched. Therefore, I requested that he remove it since I decided with raccoons there were more pluses than minuses. We thought we had a raccoon under our house and because Animal Control doesn't deal with that we gave Tex's Round Up a try. I was really impressed with how helpful Steve was and how humanely he treats animals. Steve was super helpful in setting up the traps and came right right away when a cat ended up in the trap! When I explained we have several outdoor cats in the area, he very patiently showed me how to open up the trap in case another one got in the trap. (The traps don't hurt the animals in any way; they are just set to have the door close when an animal goes into it.) He also explained that once a cat has been in the trap, it knows not to go back. Sure enough a different cat got trapped the next day and we were able to free it ourselves. The next day a raccoon was trapped! Steve had told us to carry the trap into the shade so the animal wouldn't get overheated, and he came right over to take it away. That must have been our animal, because we haven't heard any animal sounds since! We will definitely ask Steve to come back if we ever have other animals under our house. read more

Called Tex's Round Up about a month ago due to squirrels under our solar panels on our roof. The panels do have wire around them but they got under somehow anyway. Steve came out same day and set up two live catch traps at ground level, which we place at the squirrels known routes. We caught our first squirrel within hours. Over the 30 days caught 7 squirrels and so far don't hear any scampering on the roof. Every time a squirrel was caught Steve came out same day to remove and reset the trap. I did not want to deal with the 'big name' firms due to poor reviews from my neighbors, and the fact that they all want to pressure you into a contract for ongoing services. Found Steve (Tex) on Next Door; he was highly recommended by a number of posters. Rang him up, discussed problem, and set up an appointment. Steve is an anomaly, as he is a contractor that actually shows up right on time, tells you what he wants to accomplish, how he is going to accomplish it, and goes to work! He inspected the attic interior, and house perimeter, and set up a diversion for the birds, so they could not get back into the attic. He told me to watch for activity, and report anything to him, and said he would re-contact me in three days if he did not hear from me in the meantime. True to that word, he texted me, and we agreed that he would return and seal up the vent openings with new screens. Again, on time, screening installed, problem solved!
