This place is cool I've been here twice, the atmosphere is casual to upscale. They are inside the Henry hotel the former Ritz Carlton. I must say the service is top notch. Their drinks are unique and fresh, and their food is GOOD. I had the Jalepino Margarita great thing about it is that it's made with all fresh ingredients, they make their own sour mix and the Jalepino flavor is there but not overpowering, I recommend it. We had the roasted elephant garlic, and Vineripe tomato Flatbread. The elephant garlic was unique in that it wasn't sour. it was sweet and came with grilled bread. The Flatbread tasted just like a pizza, good. The Frazen is a crisp and refreshing drink that's also made with fresh and local ingredients. The ginger beer paired with Two James vodka gives the drink the flavor and feel of a Moscow mule. I will be back. read more

Have you ever seen the show Parks and Recreation? There was an episode once where two characters have a 'Treat Yoself' day. Massages? Treat yoself. Clothing? Treat yoself. You get the idea. Today was my Treat Yoself day and I kicked it off with breakfast at Tria. The service was totally great and it was quiet and just nice. As far as pricing goes, it's not greasy spoon cheap, but the pricing was on par with other breakfast joints I've been to. And the nice thing about eating breakfast at a hotel is that you know that the food will be quality. I did decide to get the buffet, since the handful of reviews I looked at here hadn't tried it (treat yoself). For $20 I got to pick and choose what I wanted - fresh fruit, smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, french toast, muffins... I didn't eat all of that mind you. But it was nice to have a little of whatever I wanted. It also came with the option of an omelet or waffle. I went with the waffle. Also, one of the servers actually said, "What can I do to make your day better?" I know that's his job, but that don't mean it isn't a nice sentiment. I ate at this restaurant a couple of times while staying at the hotel which it is located in, The Henry. The food was pretty fabulous and based on that I would probably go back. However the service was pretty horrible both times that I dined here during my stay. My first meal here was the Signature Henry Burger. I split this with someone and added a salad. Both the salad and the burger were delicious, but it took over an hour to get food at an off-time (3 PM) when they weren't very busy. The waiter did end up removing the burger from the bill because of the wait. The next morning I had breakfast here. They do have a buffet, but on weekends the buffet is $18 per person and doesn't appear to be worth that much. I opted for the American Breakfast - 2 eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, toast and juice/coffee. They do serve Starbucks coffee at this restaurant if that is your thing. The breakfast was good and filling, but again it took almost an hour to get food when they weren't very busy. After eating at this place twice, I realized that the room service offered by the hotel is pretty much the same food that is offered in the restaurant, which may explain partly the bad service offered by the restaurant. I ordered some chicken wings via room service and explained that I needed to leave my room within an hour and they got my food to me in about 20 minutes. Therefore, while the food is great - if I were staying here I would pay the $3 delivery charge and order room service rather than wait forever at this restaurant. read more

We have eaten here twice now, once for lunch and once for a late night dinner. Nothing mind blowing, but a decent menu, solid service, and funky glassware make this a place that we enjoy. Several gluten free and vegetarian options on the menu, and even a few items that are both! My partner liked the Henry burger, I was surprisingly delighted by the roasted cauliflower and the TRIA salad without the crouton. They will do the TRIA Dips with veggies instead of pita, but I was less than impressed. Always kind enough to get us an extra iced tea to go, and we really appreciate that extra mile! read more

i know that you are supposed to start a sentence with a uppercase letter, but I started this with a lowercase letter because I want the audience to know everything about this restaurant is lowercase. Paul was a horrible server who only cared about helping certain guest. There was several moments that I experienced thoughts of just getting up and leaving but I decided to stay for the sake of not ruining Valentine's Day. All of the bread they brought was cold. They have small platesto share which are very reasonably priced, along with some entrees that seem like they are more in the $$$ range. I only did small plates and can't speak to the entrees. Whitefish tacos were great. You specify how many you want, so you can have it as a meal or a snack. We had both plain fries (well seasoned and crispy) and fries topped with meat and cheese (I forget what it was called). Both were tasty. My wife and I were looking for a place to relax before a nearby massage and I came across TRIA as I searched the Internet. The menu looked tasty and some what upscale, so I decided to make a reservation. Upon arrival, we were met by valet, which was helpful due to the cold weather. Walking in the receptionist greeted us and showed us to our table. The restaurant was empty for a weeknight evening. We were the only table for at least 15 minutes. The menus are a cool touch as you can touch the screen for a picture and description of what you are looking at. Our waitress was ok at the beginning (more on that), got our drinks and asked if we had questions. We had ordered a flatbread appetizer to share, my wife ordered soup and a salad and I ordered the "Henry" burger. Our waitress stated if it was ok to bring the salad out first and the soup with my entree and we liked that idea. Needless to say, the soup came out first! The tomato soup was very tasty and the bread basket was also pretty good. We waited for a few thinking the flatbread was going to come out next...however, my wife's salad and my burger came out. The salad was like a deconstructed Greek salad and was good. My burger was not the best, it was tasteless. I ordered medium rare and it came medium well. Our waitress never came over and asked how the meal was. As we were almost done with our meal, I told her that we did not get our appetizer but would probably do dessert instead, she told us that she had placed the order and it should be out...weird to have an appetizer after a dinner we thought. She was kind enough to comp the flatbread but brought it out as we said we were all set. All in all, we would give TRIA a second chance but would have to see some improvements. He rushed us to the point where none of us could look at the what we were ordering and of course, Ali only recommend the most expensive thing on the menu. Even when one of us wanted a simple mushrooms to go with his steak, Ali seemed to only understand Mushroom Gratin. The rest of the staff seemed good but, the whole experience was unpleasant. The Tria is on site at the Marriott Henry hotel. Lunch at Tria has been a disappointment. Meals take forever to serve and each time for our group there has been a problem (overcooked salmon, wrong sides with an entree, missed sides unserved). Staff apologizes promptly and removes charges for problem areas from the bill - but length of time to serve and ongoing problems make this a risk every time one sits down. Room service from the same kitchen has been fast, food tasty & hot, and staff are happy to refine what is plated based on requests (I'm doing the slow-carb diet so don't want to see starches on the plate). read more

The ribeye, ordered medium rare, was greasy and rare. Good, not great. On the other hand, the crispy Brussels were EXCELLENT!! Almost an entree by itself! I would definitely order this again! I've been coming here for years for breakfast and always get my usual waffles with whipped cream and berry melange. Today was the last day I go to TRIA because I couldn't believe the chef would actually serve what they served me. So disappointed from the burned waffle to the lack of accompaniments. I just love TRIA. Best place for upscale dining in Dearborn. It's a little pricey, but I often come here just for dessert and drinks if I don't want to shell out for a whole meal. We ate at Tria because we were staying at the hotel in which it is located. My partner had a ribeye steak which was incredible. I had mahi mahi which was a 4" slab of texture with absolutely no flavor. It had almost certainly been frozen to be so devoid of any indication of flavor. It seems impossible that a kitchen which so brilliantly spiced the steak could have ignored the fish -- and charged $30 for it! Alas, the hotel was hosting a huge Indian wedding and the guests were loud and very vulgar which totally destroyed any sense of atmosphere, but I'm sure it made the hotel a bundle of money. No matter what mood you are in you will always be able to find something on their menu. Ok addition to the great food the ambience is great. None of my party was terribly impressed with their meals, and one of us was very disappointed. She ordered the Penne Pasta and remarked how it tasted like something out of a can. Another said their steak was cooked to a perfect 'medium' but was rather bland, and eventually requested steak sauce. My dish was edible, but tasteless. I had the Grilled Half Chicken and found it to be very plain. I, too, requested some type of sauce to dip the pieces in. I had the crème brûlée and it was quite average. Another got the Ice Cream Sundae and enjoyed it. The blown-sugar bowl it arrived in was a very nice touch. A very average dining experience. Logistics: Great business lunch spot in Dearborn. Park yourself in the front of the hotel (along Hubbard Dr.) or valet at main door. Can get a bit noisy, so ask the host if you need to be seated in a quieter location. Groups bigger than 4, I would recommend calling ahead for a quick reservation, else you're likely to be seated at their large high-top table, which can be difficult to maneuver for some guests, and is in a noisy location in the center of the restaurant. One plus, sometimes you'll be treated to a professional athlete or rock star sighting, if they're not staying in Birmingham. Service can be slow, so if time is a concern, let your waiter know up front. The food, atmosphere and (usually) service are above average. They do offer take-aways in discreet bags for anything you do not finish. Bathrooms are located around the corner (to the left of the check-in desk) and are well-appointed, private and clean. Food (lunch): For a business lunch, I'd recommend any of their salads with a protein added atop (chicken, shrimp, or salmon). If you're not concerned about making a mess, they have a great Lobster Roll and Henry Burger (with an egg atop). Specify that you'd like your burger medium if you do not want it to come out well-done (their tendency). They carry both Coke (fountain) and Pepsi (cans) products, which is nice if you have a preference. They have a full bar as well. Their drinks can be pricey ($15+), comparatively speaking. Some constructive feedback for the Tria staff: the silverware is too large and heavy. Guests inevitably drop them and it makes such a loud scene because they're so heavy. It's nice -- just impractical. Same thing goes for the large, heavy bar chairs at the hi-tops and bar. They're just too big and cumbersome. And the plate (platter?) that the crab cakes are served on ... it doesn't lay flat or flush with the table, so while you're trying to eat, the plate literally spins around and around. Maybe time for some new flatware and crockery? Our service was excellent today (Gladys, if I recall correctly, was attentive and helpful) but it can be neglectful, depending upon the visit. We did notice there were uncleared tables left over from breakfast (pancakes, eggs etc.) when we came in for our lunch at noon. I enjoyed the coffee rub pub steak as an appetizer but the apple spiced whitefish left a lot to be desired. Less is more when it comes to the maple glaze sauce. Compliment not overpower. Overall I might come back again if I was staying here but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Service was almost non existent. I was sat and given a menu. She took my order and moved on. Food quality is high - same chef was retained from days of Ritz-Carlton. Not as extensive a menu as Ritz days. Holy hell. My husband had the pork tria and described it as a mouthgasm. I took a small piece of his meat and my tastebuds erupted in mouthgasmic glory. I had the crabcakes and a side of mushroom gratin. Both food coma inducing. Yes, the place was pricy, but well worth it for a special occasion. This is the best hidden gem for business lunch time! The menu is cute and is displayed with a Tablet that actually works (better than Fleming's for example). For $14 you can get excellent service, gorgeous ambience, beautiful modern/classic mix décor, calm and quiet environment with great food options for lunch. I always get one of their gourmet sandwiches with hand cut potato chips sprinkled with sea salt and homemade puff bread (ohhh, the best)! Then we finish it off with a small plate of assorted pastries to share. I feel very satisfied when I come for lunch. Honestly, at lunch time, I am not eating 3-4 slices of Buddy's pizza nor trying to knock off dinner/ have left overs/ run a marathon so lunch here is abundant for me, not sure why people complained. Maybe they need to order from the entrée menu.I will be honest and admit that I have not seen the dinner menu and maybe it is pricey and the source of the cons. Finally, the place is super special but in different ways than it used to be while under Ritz management, I wouldn't necessarily support a Michelin star restaurant but honestly there is nothing else that compares in a 15mile radius so this is great, absolutely worth the visit if you are in the area. read more
