The paint job was a sloppy mess. Than the wood cases started to peel. We told him that he never sanded the existing oil. He insisted he did. He had a Benjamin Moore rep come to the house who told him that the casing were not sanded enough. Ross decided to strip it with peel away. He never had enough workers to do the job properly so the peel away dried and created a mess. All the wood casings needed heavy sanding since he never cleaned it. It was like he had no idea how to use the striper. We are two months into painting one room with no end in sight. We are now arguing about sanding the horrible strip job. My advice do not hire them!!!!!

They were both friendly and seemed to take the task with patience, which I appreciated. I didn't want to put too much work into it, because the room set up is pretty established and I just wanted a refresh, but obviously still wanted everything to look good! I'm glad I found these guys because that's exactly what I got. The process was really easy from start to finish - I filled out an online contact form on their site and got a call to get the ball rolling the next day. An estimator came to give me quote and went through the process - what color I should buy/was recommended and how much I should buy based on how many layers he thought I'd need. Since it was just two rooms, they said it could all be done in a day! We scheduled the painting for a few days later based on my schedule. They did a great job of not getting paint on ANYTHING and I didn't pay until everything was totally done. I paid via credit card but understood that they accept payment with Venmo and PayPall too which is awesome. Overall would highly recommend - painless process and great results!

It's like people bring the dust and leave it everywhere. And since it teach and a lot of students go through the the space I often need the service. Unfortunately there are also a lot of shady painters that don't do the job well, which annoys me so much ( it would any person with OCD). So I'm super pleased that I called these guys. Due to all the necessary repairs, they were here for 14 days. Each day they were on time, put in a good day's work, and were polite, cheerful, and honest. I've found that a lot of painters like to work with Benjamin Moore paint. I have a thing about Farrow and Ball, and they worked with it, without complaint. I was able to schedule the paint appointment pretty quickly. They finished the job in 2 days! Unfortunately, a wall anchor was damaged and the paint on some of the doors ended up sticking. I really wanted to like Paintzen. They were the lowest bid on painting our apartment. They also had…read moredone great work for us a smaller job a few years ago. The trouble began a couple of weeks after completing our apartment. In order to paint our walls, they had to remove and then reinstall some curtains. After the painters left, one of the curtains dropped out of the wall (picture 1'. When I requested they come back and fix the problem, Paintzen refused, claiming "the wall can't support the anchor" and to repair it would "go beyond your project's scope of work". On the contrary, the wall supported the curtains for 11 years until Paintzen came. The picture below shows screws without any anchors (picture 2). Surely, if they valued my business and their reputation, they would figure out a way to restore our wall to their prior condition. I escalated my complaints with the company but have yet to hear anything from them. I am reviewing my other options should they continue to ignore me. Bottom line: Paintzen may be fine for a simple and fast project like a bathroom. Do not trust them with a large project that could prove to have complexities. They may leave you (not) hanging.

I hired Ben and his…read morecrew to paint my apartment last December, and ultimately I wish I had gone with a different painting crew. The problems were myriad, including: 1) A shoddy paint job showing a lack of attention to detail. As you can see from my attached photos, there were large splotches of mismatched colored walls in my closet, and a doorframe to one of my closets was obviously not painted carefully as evidenced by the poor finished product. Dried speckles of paint were sprinkled literally all throughout my apartment's floors. I spent well over 8 hours cleaning off all of the dried paint that these guys left behind on my apartment's floors, so they quite clearly do not cover the floors with any protective layer, nor do they demonstrate any care when doing the actual painting. 2) Garbage left in my sinks, and dried paint left behind all over my sinks and bath tubs. Totally understandable that these guys would wash their equipment in my apartment, but totally unacceptable for them to leave a mess of dried paint caked all over my sinks and bath tubs that I had to clean myself. 3) Poor communication and lack of follow up when these problems were brought to their attention. I sent numerous emails to Ben about these problems and gave him multiple opportunities to fix them, but he simply stopped returning the emails. Clearly, Ben and his company show little concern or care for ensuring customer satisfaction. All in all, I would absolutely NOT recommend hiring Ben and his crew for your next paint job. While they are definitely not the most expensive paint crew, the old adage 'you get what you pay for' is quite evident here. The shoddy craftsmanship, piss poor communication, general carelessness and inattention to detail, and disregard for customer satisfaction all add up to money that is most definitely not well spent here, and I would highly recommend NOT hiring Ben and his crew to paint your next project.

He was supposed to paint the whole apartment but he deliberately skipped some areas including a partial wall painted in gray primer where the whole apartment is painted in white. Upon reaching out to him (in the rare case he answered the phone) he was pretending to be nice but actually was not willing to come finish the job and kept postponing and then not answering the phone. We had to chase him down for more than two months and ended up giving up and hiring another contractor to finish the job.
