I got a GC from my fiancé during Christmas. I'm nearing 40 so I started complaining that I think I'm the only woman in this age bracket in Miami who has not gotten anything done. I came here for fillers in my lips and Botox. Botox seems to be ok, but the fillers were mot a great experience! The dental block did not work on my top lip and I felt every injection.... which I could have gotten over if I had good results. Instead an hour after I leave, I look like a poster child for domestic violence from the bruises. I don't really wear makeup so I had to go to work today with everyone staring at my lips wondering what happened. I've also been getting fillers for 3 years and never been bruised. On a slightly humorous note, the little red heart fell pack they give you broke on the way home and red slime got all over me. He was so patient and really listened, then made some reasonable suggestions but was not pushy at all. He kept me distracted and talking during the injections and before I knew it he was done. I've made the rounds in town and haven't been completely satisfied. This office provides the best balance of service, ambiance, and value. I was given a Groupon for 2 PRP facials my birthday. Unlike other establishments, they did not treat me any differently than a walk-in patient. They were even willing to adjust the deal to accommodate my needs. Their technology in setting and confirming appointments is very effective and helpful. They even offered parking instructions. The building and office is lovely and comfortable. The waiting room is packed full of written information and videos to enlighten you during your very brief wait. The BEST part...the treatment itself could not have been better thanks to the aesthetician, UVA CARO! It was my first so she showed me visual images and explained every step, no surprises, therefore I had no anxiety. Her sanitation practices were medical grade perfection. I purchased a Mother's Day special that was offered for when my mom was scheduled to visit me from Los Angeles. However, she decided not to visit for some reason until 1.5 years after. The offer expired. We called Dr. Shapiro's office and told him about the incident and he did not hesitate to respond that he would still honor the special. When I took my mother there, the office staff greeted us and offered us water and coffee. They were professional, kind and courteous. Their office looked sleek, modern and welcoming. Parking was not an issue at all as they reserved almost all he available parking spaces for their office! When Dr. Shapiro entered the room his energy and vibe was great. My mom felt comfortable with him immediately. He then proceeded to speak with her in Farsi....This guy speaks like 8 languages. He spent quality time with her and we did not feel rushed at all. He gave her the treatment she wanted and she had a great time. She did not feel any unexpected discomfort during the procedure. Dr. Shapiro did a great job in explaining what he was doing as he was performing the procedure which alleviated her anxiety. In the end, she loved the results. I have since moved back to Los Angeles. On a sudden whim, or maybe desperation, I bought a Groupon for TriBeCa MedSpa, which offered 2 laser tattoo removal sessions for $80. In comparison to the other offerings, this package offered the best deal. Upon calling, they quickly booked my appointment, and just four days later I was sitting in Dr. Shapiro's chair. The office is clean, and although located at the beach, parking was not difficult to find. The front staff was kind, polite, and quick to get me into my room. Unlike others, I did not have to wait (I came around 3pm). He described to me the procedure, and made sure to answer any questions I had. To my surprise, this office uses lidocaine during their tattoo removal sessions, and thank god! The most painful part of the procedure (2/10 on a pain scale) were these injections! The laser just felt tingly, kind of like when your foot is falling asleep... I already booked my next appointment, and will definitely purchase more to remove this hideous monster tattoo off my foot. I arrived on time for my appointment to an empty waiting room and waited almost an hour to be seen. He proceeded to tell me I needed much more and that he would NOT proceed if I didn't do TWO areas. Horrible experience. After reading the response from this business I was even more appalled. Now that I'm towards the end of my training I can say how incredibly unethical the doctor here is. YOU'RE ONLY SUPPOSED TO ADDRESS ISSUES THE PATIENT BRINGS UP ESPECIALLY for cosmetic procedures!! I asked for botox, he then decided to inform me what HE thought were "advanced signs of aging" (I'm 32 at the time) that had NOTHING to do with the botox. Saying it's because he's doing a through evaluation is BS, because that's not how you do a cosmetic evaluation! And he didn't suggest laser resurfacing so CLEARLY the person who responded has ZERO idea of our interaction. He ISN'T A DERMATOLOGIST which is why I stated it's a med spa. Your "botox 101" comment showed you didn't even read my original comment. I wasn't complaining about having to do another area. I was stating that the girl knew I was getting 2 areas done, so she should have given an estimate that reflected that. I now only go to dermatologist to do my botox. They were disgusted when I told them about this experience. Everyone also informed me how medically incorrect and biased his statements were. Now that I've done botox several times I can also say he put WAY too much botox. His results were incredibly unnatural as I had zero movement. My results going to a dermatologist and this guy are like night and day.
