Lifesavers. Prior to stumbling across Tribeca PT a couple months ago, I had been seeing physical therapists 2-3x week for nearly 15 months across 4 clinics in Manhattan. In those 15 months, while I had seen bits of success here and there, my condition largely declined to the point that I was utterly debilitated; unable to sit without intense pain, walk more than a few feet, or stand for more than a few minutes. However, under the care of Dr. Kristian & team, I saw more improvement in 4 weeks than the previous year; that is not hyperbole! Important to note that this does not serve to take anything whatsoever away from other clinics & physical therapists! It speaks more to the strikingly distinct methodology & approach (outlined below) Tribeca PT employs, which, in my case, was required given the extensive, full-body nature of my injuries (for context: I am a former athlete diagnosed with FAI, gluteal tendinopathy, miserable malalignment, hip labral tears, lumbar DDD, disc herniations, Drop Shoulder Syndrome, Degenerative Scoliosis, hypermobility, and a slew of postural & gait issues). Injuries, especially the debilitating ones, can take a devastating toll on one's quality of life, mental health, and general outlook for the future. I am passionate about helping other people who are suffering through these experiences, and this review is for those people. What makes Tribeca PT stand out: - 1-1 sessions, exclusively, for 1 hour. No stepping away to work with other clients leaving you to "figure it out." They watch every single rep you do to ensure you are doing it correctly. - Entire PT staff have doctorates & are extremely knowledgeable. - Eagerly request feedback on what is working & not working. As a client, it can sometimes be hard to suggest program changes to the authority, but they get ahead of this through constant and transparent communication. - Highly anatomical perspective drives program design. What I mean by this: often times, injuries reduce one's body awareness, so while you may have a comprehensive list of things you feel you need to explain about your body, it can be hard to articulate because you yourself aren't entirely sure. Here, I did not have that issue. They have highly specified techniques whereby they can tell the underlying musculoskeletal deficits driving your symptoms/condition, from which they craft focused, complex exercises targeted to your body. Many of the exercises are so niche that I would have never found them online or felt comfortable doing them if I had. In my experience, this is one of their greatest & most appreciable strengths. - Manual therapy (i.e. a medical/physiotherapy-driven massage) by a specialist physical therapist offered each Friday. - Phone/computer app containing your daily exercises, complete with written & video instructions on form. Progress-tracking is easy and convenient. - Beautiful, well-lit, & ambient space in Tribeca (and they are expanding in July 2023). You are never colliding with other patients. - Culture of meaning & impact pervades the organization, driven top-down by the founder (Dr. Kristian). - The most welcoming, kind, & friendly staff imaginable. It is truly a joy to see them each day. I am clearly a passionate supporter of this place. They have drastically improved my quality of life - and sense of hope - when others could not. I'm not particularly active in terms of exercise however my job as a professional organizer and living in NYC ensure a certain level of continual physical activity. Covid changed my daily walking habits and my business was nonexistent for 5 months and my body which had been compensating unbeknownst to brain decided to go on strike. I started with Dr Monica doing tele health PT sessions in the late spring of 2020. Not being one to do exercises without direct supervision, these sessions were extremely helpful. Eventually I started doing in person appointments with multiple physical therapist at the practice. Much like organizing one's home, once 1 area has been corrected and completed, it's time to start on the next area of pain and that has been the case with my body. Before working with Tribeca Physical Therapy, I was in constant pain and discomfort, unable to do necessary tasks like walking my dog. Now we are focusing on strengthening my muscles to support my bones better. And I completely forgot how challenging everything was before working with the team at Tribeca PT. I came to Tribeca PT not knowing what was wrong with my feet. I just knew that there was a serious problem hence the intermittent pain and decreased stability which have sadly dampened my passion for running. In just one session, through their 1-on-1 comprehensive assessment, I discovered that the recurring pain and instability were due to my past chronic lateral ankle sprains. They are super efficient and really know what they are doing! By the second session, we were already doing exercises designed to not only help me recover from my injuries but also to prevent them from happening again. I really like Tribeca PT's holistic approach. They don't just focus on the problematic parts of your body but also the other regions affected by it. I have been seeing Kristian for a couple of years since he was at his old practice. I had no problem following him to Tribeca PT. Kristian is just great. he's funny, very kind, and his background music is super relaxing. He has a great passion for helping his patients recover. I love my sessions because I know I'm going to have fun with Kristian and at the same time I'm going to work hard and feel good after my session. I love Tribeca Physical Therapy because the practice is so beautiful and intimate. It's also very clean and being on the 27th floor the beautiful view is a plus. When I'm training with Kristian, his whole focus and attention is on me and getting my body back to recovery. It's a great feeling to feel comfortable and know I'm in good hands. I'm being seen for lower back pain, training on the Pilates reformer machine mixed with body mechanics is healing and strengthening my lower back along with my core muscles. This physical therapy facility is one of the best facilities that I have been to since I have been attending PT care. I enjoy the welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walk into the facility. The office and the equipment is very clean and orderly. I came to Tribeca Physical Therapy because I had difficulty bending my knees without having severe pain. Dr. Kristian Marcial help me to solve this problem. He would spend the full hour with me, only ME (no other patients) explaining the technique and the exercises. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and addresses them. He also gave me a program I can do at home. I have had lower back pain for 17 years, have been doing physical therapies for the same length of time. When I moved, I was looking for a new clinic that can work with me on an ongoing long-term basis, that does manual work, clinical pilates, physical training, combined with acupuncture/cupping and massage - one place to train my back and core muscles and at the same time work on general conditioning. The hour long sessions are nice, allow me to get deeper with the exercises, and if some days I need a bit of manual muscle releasing, then I still can get some exercises in during the session. Even though it is a bit of a track to go downtown for me (pls open a mid-town clinic), the space is very nice, open, bright and fantastic view. The machines are new, the healthy teas are fancy :-). What an Excellent Team at Tribeca. Mr. Jomel is superb in knowledge, professionalism, technique, guidance and encouragement as the main physical therapist. The receptionists: Chrystal, and Ms. Salsa were thorough, kind and so professional. I arrived with extreme pain in my right side toward my back called a bulging disk and right side pain. Mr. Jomel assessed my symptoms and set up a program to allieviate the extreme pain. After his expert precision with rubbing the lumps which caused the pain, electric stimulation warm pad, and targeted yoga exercises - after about the fourth treatment the pain literally subsided. Great expertise and service! It was so practical to arrive at this location since it is a part of my building residence. Tribeca PT has really helped improve my runners knee pain. It was difficult for me to work out and do strenuous activity but after identifying the problem and providing me with the right exercises I've been able to slowly strengthen my lower body while significantly decreasing knee pain. Because of the current covid restrictions, I was unable to go in person for a session but I really appreciate Dr Kristian's flexible availability and continuous efforts to reach out to patients as we all WFH. I've been doing my physical therapy since 2019! Dr. Monica has helped me during my pre-pregnancy and post partum journey twice! first pregnancy I had C-section! She helped me regain my core and pelvic muscles (postpartum 10months)! second pregnancy, I did VBAC (vaginal birth after C section) Dr. Monica worked on and really focused on my pelvic floor muscles this time around. its amazing how she helped me so much go back to my old self again! I suffered a fall many months ago and finally took action to do something about it and under the guidance of Dr Monica I can feel that things are improving. She was able to tape my shoulder and give me exercises to relieve the pain and gradually build up my strength again.
