Collard greens, whiting, and mac & cheese
    Cee C.

I heard great things about this place, so I decided to try it. My food was delivered via Uber Eats and didn't need reheating upon arrival. The whiting fish was good, greens were ok too many stalks for me, and the mac & cheese was decent. I thought including packets of crystals hot sauce was a nice touch. The candied yams were scrumptious, the bourbon chicken was very flavorful with just the right amount of smoke flavor to it, and the cabbage was the star of the show. My sister had the jerk chicken and said it was good but not as spicy as she likes it. I'll definitely try more items from their menu. 10 out of 10 I'd recommend!!

The food was delicious. The fish could have been crispier but it was still good. The sweet potatoes and mac and cheese were scrumptious! I can't wait to go in person.

Not ideal, but honestly... once I tasted the food, I got over that real quick. The Cajun salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked and the sauce on it was everything. Super flavorful without being overwhelming. But what really stood out to me (and what I'm still thinking about) were the salmon bites with the hot honey sauce... OMG. So, so, SO good. Easily the best salmon bites I've ever had. Even without dining in, the food held up and still felt like a full experience. If I'm ever back in DC, I would definitely go back--hopefully to dine in next time.

Atmosphere was busy with a lot of foot traffic. However, I was disappointed to find that a 20% gratuity was already added to our bill, especially given the service we received. Throughout our meal, the waiter displayed an attitude that made us feel unwelcome. We faced delays in receiving our hot sauce, side dishes, and even our gravel, which added to the frustration. Despite these issues, we did enjoy our time at the restaurant, and the quality of the food certainly stood out. But I believe that for a place to include an automatic gratuity, the service should match the quality of the meal. Overall, while I would recommend the food, I hope the service improves for future visits.

I've never gone inside of this establishment, always order through Uber eats so I can not speak on the interior/overall ambiance but I've never gotten the vibes they aren't clean. Today I ordered the following: Loaded baked potato with chicken, broccoli, bell peppers and cheese: I enjoyed my potato and would order again. However I think the actual potato could use seasoning and the overall dish could be elevated with a drizzle/sauce. I will also add the first time I had the chicken baked potato, my chicken was cubed. This time it looks like they used the chopped/shredded chicken from the cheesesteaks. Turkey wings: I haven't tried them yet but they look really good, my only suggestion would be to have a sauce/gravy on the side. Potato salad: good flavor, seasoned well. A little looser than I normally like but that doesn't take away from the flavor. Oreo cream pie: the first time I ordered, the pie was absolutely delicious. This time around, it was still good but I could taste the milk and it seemed a little old. Not spoiled, but I could actually taste milk. The service was on point, my food was delivered a little earlier than expected, so I am pleased about that. Would I order again, absolutely this is hands down my favorite place for getting a loaded baked potato

It presented with a lack any pride in ownership and attention to detail. I ordered the pork chop dinner with cabbage and Mac n cheese. They didn't have cabbage so they gave me greens. The pork chops were meh. Didn't care for the Mac n cheese. And this hot food meal was served to me in a clear plastic container meant for cold food, like a salad. This place could be great and they have lots of opportunity for improvement.

This was my first visit to Kitchen Savages. I had tried walking in without a reservation once before on a Saturday evening, and there were no seats available. So my first recommendation would definitely be to make sure you make/have a reservation because they do get busy (understandably so)!! Overall our brunch experience was good! I started off with the Mimosa Sampler for my drink order; I wanted to try the different flavours that were on offer. These were nice, but I'd hoped the presentation would have been a little better and the mimosas not as heavy with the juices. The food was great! Super tasty and packed with flavour. My husband had the Peach Cobbler French Toast and I ordered the 'Create-Your-Own' pasta. I requested it with salmon, shrimp and spinach, but it only came with the shrimp and spinach. Such a shame, because I can imagine the salmon would have made the dish EVEN better. When the bill came, it had the salmon (which I never got) listed on it - after pointing this out, the server checked with the kitchen, and kindly removed it from the bill. Overall, I would say that we really enjoyed brunch here. I will definitely be back in the future to try the main dinner menu & hopefully there'll be no mixups with what I order and what I get .

It's one of those staple spots where if you haven't been, people will definitely question where you're really from. I ordered takeout on a Monday: * Half smoke with sunny side up eggs and French toast for me * Turkey bacon sandwich with home fries for bae * Scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, and home fries for my father The food was ready quickly and affordable--which is rare these days. When my partner walked in with a vanilla wafers box, I was confused... until I opened it and saw everything served on paper plates, wrapped in foil. It gave full-on "you better not mess up grandma's dishes" energy--and I loved it. That first bite of the half smoke brought me straight back to my childhood. It tasted just like the kind my grandpa used to send my mom from Savannah, GA. No frills, no fancy presentation, just real food made with love. The portion sizes weren't oversized, but you get exactly what's described on the menu. If you have a bigger appetite, I'd recommend adding a side. Still, it's a solid, classic breakfast that doesn't break the bank. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like home--simple, satisfying, and rooted in the community. I'm already plotting my next order.

All their items are made-from-scratch, and the menu seems to rotate occasionally. I love how it is simplified where you choose a $10 or a $15 main, which both options come with 2 sides of your choice, wheat or white toast, and a small canned juice. We ordered: +the Shrimp & Grits - the grits were the best grits I've ever had - they were thick, creamy, cheesy, and seasoned perfectly! I'd probably order this dish again, without the sausage, and opt for more cheesy grits as my 2 sides to load it up! +the Cheesecake Stuffed Peach Cobbler French Toast - this wasn't as overly sweet as I thought it would be, which was great; I think we'd go for the simple French Toast or the pancakes next time, though +Old Bay Maple Breakfast Potatoes - the Old Bay seasoning was subtle, and these large chunks of breakfast potatoes were more on the sweeter end +Scrambled Eggs +Turkey Sausage Link +Turkey Sausage Patty +pineapple and cranberry juice I noticed that the cranberry juice had expired, but it was easy to replace it with another drink of choice. Staff were friendly, but note that depending on the queue, you may wait for some time for your food, as it's all made-to-order; we waited for ours for about 12 minutes or so, and everything came piping hot! The portions are extremely generous and can feed at least 2 people or be split into 2 meals. Note that there are small little ordering cards to place your orders through; hand them to the staff, and they'll give you an estimated wait time. Most seem to get their items to go, as this is a food truck and there is no seating area. I'd be curious to try out any other additions they may add to their menu in the future, but I would definitely come back for those grits! +delicious grits! +friendly staff! +food truck located on Pennsylvania, in front of the shopping center
