Stick to what I know. They have great cold brew. Today I wanted to try the Cortado and it was a miss. Both my friend and I got one and they were bitter and burnt tasting. The place was jampacked to be fair due to bike the bay, but the service was still great. The ambience was very chaotic and we did not stay long because of that. No fault of the business just a bad day to go. I'll keep going here for the cold brew, but don't think I will be trying the Cortado again.

Came here for the keto options, but was really impressed with the service. The guy taking our order was really helpful with recommendations and overall genuinely pleasant. As someone needing low sugar options I found this place and made a trip here and enjoyed the coffee and donut. And the music???? let me talk to the dj rn and give em a smooch

A nice coffee place just outside of Chula Vista in Imperial Beach... Heading out early in the morning for meetings and usually drive out to the area early to have coffee somewhere and relax and check emails and do some work.... They do roast their own coffee and it wasn't too bad I do prefer a much lighter roast at times but I was fine with their coffee since it is better than the BUX.... Employees were nice and friendly...I tried a little of their Nitro Cold Brew as well and not bad (I'm not the biggest cold coffee drinker).... I do prefer hot coffee overall... I'd come back and it is less than a mile from where my customer is located1

Love the serenity of this location. They have a huge parking lot and plenty of street parking too. I came here on a weekday and the parking lot was pretty much empty. I love that you get to see the water from the shop. I ordered the midnight vietnamese and it was heaven! I don't like MCT oil and was able to replace that with mushroom and it really elevated the experience. Thank you!

I was drawn to Trident for it's symbolism...totally makes sense that it's located by the beach. I'm a health conscious person and was glad to find out Trident Coffee uses health-enhancing ingredients to foster wellness. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy in this naturally lit spacious coffee shop when I arrived. The staff was friendly and patient with me since I was a first-timer. Trident's wide variety of coffee was really unique...especially the combination of coffee and tea. When I saw cognitive mushrooms as one of the functional lattes on the menu, I had to order it along with an acai bowl which suprisingly took a bit to make and noticed it was in a cup. Overall, positive vibes. I left empowered to live my life full steam ahead helping to realize their vision :-) If I'm in IB again, I'll go back for another nautical journey but the next time by trying their popular nitro cold brew. I definitely recommend this veteran-owned coffee shop to the Yelp Community.

My friend and I decided to visit while we were in IB and we have no regrets. Got here around 9:40 and it wasn't crowded and the staff were super nice! My friend's order was messed up and they remade it with no issues and were very apologetic. The coffee was good and the food was delicious! The ambiance was good, not too loud, so a good spot to chill and read. I would definitely come back!

A friend introduced me to this place, and I decided to stop by after a doctor's appointment in the area. The staff here has always been cool. The first time I came here I tried the flight which was amazing, and today I went with a cold brew and a keto friendly empanada. I love places that have keto-friendly options. The vibe here is super chill being next to a gym and a bike spot. I see a lot of riders congregate here. I've never had an issue with parking, and there's a dedicated spot for Trident customers. Thanks Trident for helping me stay in my healthy lane. Cheers all.

I had to try their cold brew flight which included: 1. Son of a son of a sailor (Best, flavor) 2. Trident (normal dark) 3. El Capitan (super dark taste) 4 daily rations (for true sailors) Additional to that I had the following food: 1. Matcha/ strawberry donut (vegan non-protein) Very soft donut with a creamy frosting that covers the top and a very enjoyable morning breakfast or dessert. 2. Breakfast burrito Great mixture of egg and cheese. That's great for anybody. 3. Bacon, egg and cheese empanada Flavorful crust packed with bacon, egg and cheese. That's easily shareable since everyone wood want a bite. To top it all off is in an amazing area close to the beach, walking distance from a small kids playground and a beautiful view. Parking is easily accessible whether it's in front of the store or up the street. And to add definitely a place where kids can eat but do not have many options to get drinks.

Super sweet coffee shop in Imperial Beach. Veteran owned with an amazing staff and incredible coffee. They roast the beans in the back and the freshness shines!! The espresso was the best I've had since I don't know when

Amazing place, they offer many different types of coffee and so far we loved the horchata latte and the salted caramel mocha. Will definitely come back to try the empanadas and breakfast burritos, the protein donuts sound amazing too. The service Randall provided was so nice and pleasant, he told us about their products and how their donuts are baked and not fried, and also the vegan options and protein contents of their food. The ambiance is really chill, next to a bike trail, definitely will be coming back soon.

Trident deserves another 5 stars from me, they have improved since my last visit! They have a variety of cold brew selections, cold brew specialty drinks, espresso drinks, and even functional drinks. I got the mexican mocha with oat milk and it was delicious! The chocolate flavor was so delectable and worked well with the cold brew. They have upped their pastry selection! I got a lemon poppy protein donut (which they told us has 22-26g of protein!) and a keto bacon and egg empanada. The empanada had flavorful seasoning. Usually keto pastries aren't my favorite since there's no carbs but theirs was pretty good! The unique pastry selection and delicious cold brew sets them apart from other places. The interior is a bit small but nicely decorated and with lots of tables and seats. The place overlooks the otay river/bay area so has some nice nature views!

We came on a Sunday morning and were the only party there, and when the barista opened the 1 fridge they had it was surprisingly pretty empty. They do have a rotating seasonal menu with some fun flavors. We got: - Hot Vanilla Lavender Latte (4/5): Very noticeable lavender scent and flavor, unlike many other locations that make it more subtle. If you love lavender I would recommend! - Iced Vanilla Bean Latte w/ oat milk (4.5/5): Very solid latte that I wouldn't mind having again, but also not particularly unique. Also worth noting the oat milk they use is planet oat, which isn't my preferred choice. Overall, solid coffee spot with solid beans. I wasn't interested in any of their summer seasonal flavors, but would be down to try out other seasonal menu items next time I'm in town.

The bionicos hit my sweet tooth but in a healthier way vs donuts or candy. The papas caseras was an impulse buy to try at a later time. I was definitely full and of course I had leftovers to bring home. A forewarning about the parking lot - it is a tiny parking lot shared with 4 or 5 other businesses including Francos Flapjacks, a tattoo shop, Chop Shop Barbers, and a smoke shop. There is only one entrance/exit and it can be crowded depending on the time and day.

I would not recommend if you have wider hips. The booth tables had better seating options, but the tables were very low. I had to move locations because the outlet closest to the window did not work. Overall, the food was okay and the vibe was calm. One thing I would like to add is the customer service was fine however, the employees were really loud and obnoxious talking among themselves. This past Sunday, I decided to head over for a morning walk and finally stopped in again. The shop is pretty small with limited seating, so it's not really a place to hang out. It seems more like a grab-and-go coffee spot. There aren't many great coffee shop options in this part of Coronado, so I can definitely see why it's popular with both locals and tourists. I arrived just before the morning rush, so I was able to order and get my drink almost immediately. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I also really appreciated that they offer a military discount--it's always nice to see businesses supporting the military community. I ordered a medium cold brew with coconut cold foam and asked for very light ice. I was so happy they actually listened! So many coffee shops still fill the cup with ice even when you ask for light ice, and I hate watered-down coffee. This one was perfect. The coconut cold foam was absolutely delicious and added just the right amount of sweetness to complement the bold flavor of the cold brew without overpowering it. I also love that they serve organic coffee. I'll definitely have to remember to stop by more often whenever I'm in Coronado in the mornings. Next time, I need to try one of their donuts too!
