I decided to give HDL a try for breakfast. I am so glad I did. I ordered the hot cakes combo. Will was my server and he was very good tending to my needs. He warned me the pancakes were huge, and they were. I took one home that my husband enjoyed later. Eggs, bacon and two pancakes. Yummy. Price was fair @ $14 (in today's market). My only complaint was waiting for the check. Will seemed to disappear and I waited for almost 15 minutes to get the check. Annoying and it definitely affected the tip. Best restaurant in the area! The new ownership has really taken this great location to a new level, with a 4-star menu, a nice cocktail list and appealing specials for the customers to try. Just my opinion for what it's worth. I'll say a lot because I really want this place to work, and I am part of a group that is constantly cheering for your success. You can't be everything to everybody all the time so I would advise you to look at your menu mix in a month or so, pair with your guest comments and scale the menu down and use the extra resources to improve on the dishes you are most proud of, and think will make the biggest impact. I promise you will save on waste, have a more organized and efficient line, and improve your product. As an example, I had the skirt steak. Your steak was good, not cooked to the doneness I requested, and the chimichurri seen its best days a while back. I wouldn't even take a temp for the steak, but rather tell the guest, "the chef recommends medium rare for the best quality and flavor, is this okay?" Everyone I asked on the table said their food was good, just okay, or I won't order it again. The menu is all over the place with no real direction or theme. I heard Mediterranean. Chimichurri, mediterranean items, schnitzel, tacos...? Make sure you have a lemon wedge with schnitzel. I'll also say this, you probably have a lot of people demanding the "old favorites" and this is what got the place in the position it ended up in. They are what their name suggests (old). Do so well on the new products so they forget the old stuff. Scale the menu down (not sure if Branzino is flying out the kitchen, don't have filet if you can't hit temps), don't listen to the loud minority, and really drive service. Lots of new faces that mean well but can use some coaching. They leave a lot of money on the table. There are a few people who wanted another drink but was never offered. It seemed like they wanted us out of there at 6pm in a half empty dining room. I had one glass of wine coming from work, as a reference. Check your menu editing. I'll be back to support! read more

Excellent food and service! The new menu offers amazing choices for dinner. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful!! If you enjoy eating out on their patio, make sure you're there at sunset. Last night was spectacular and made for the perfect evening. This restaurant is located within a golf club in a stand alone building. Ambiance was similar to a lounge with a bar and restaurant seating. They have seating both indoors and on a patio. I ordered the nachos with chicken and the serving was HUGE which was great. Flavor was good (I love pickled jalapeños). We also ordered the green chile burger which was good. The price was great as well. Service was as expected. Food came out quick and the waitress checked on us a few times. Their ice water had a weird taste so I ordered a soda water and that tastes fine. Yuck, don't waste your time!! Too expensive, service was poor and the food is like cafeteria buffet. A 1/3 glass of wine was $12. Chicken Fettuccine tasteless! The Branzino sauce was salty and tasted like it came out of can! The tap water they brought to us was even undrinkable. 2 stars only due to the incredibly high noise level. It was so loud we had to practically yell for our table of 3 to hear each other which just added to the noise level. I began working with April and Asher and was amazed at the level of support and assistance they provided. We had a wonderful experience. The food was great and the service was exceptional. The food was outstanding. We had the rigatoni with the andouille sausage and the pasta carbonara with a large flat noodle. Both extremely tasty and we brought them home so you can do takeout as well. The Hacienda restaurant has changed dramatically over the last four months and they continue to improve and always toward a great addition to veil area. I do want to say first and most important was the food was amazing. It was a little bright inside I think they could turn down the lights and it does feel a little bit like a cafeteria instead of a restaurant. This particular night that we went everything I ordered was unavailable they were out of stock. I did find something that I was able to order but not what I wanted to order. The food was still very good, our waiter did everything in his power to keep us happy with conversation and making suggestions of substitutes. Several of us went to lunch. The side salads were ok.burgers super dry. Carne asada tacos he'd extremely tough meat in them. The cheddar grilled cheese tasted like American cheese. And they couldn't put mustard inside before they grilled it. The person who had a tuna melt said it was ok. Noisy and echo-y inside. Glare from the windows. So much for the newer, better menu. Rancho Del Lago has Two new Chefs I have had breakfast Lunch and Dinner with friends an family now this week. This is heads above any restaurant Vail has to offer. And the price is comparable to any in the area. They are modifying they're hours staying open later on Sunday. The location is great if you live in Vail and it's very convenient! And since they have TVs by the bar, it's a good place to go and just hang out and watch a game, etc. Views at sunset are great! Menu is somewhat typical and I'd love if they added tacos and some vegetarian options as those options are very limited. The specials are usually very good. So, we came back! Last time we were here it was very good. This time, just as good. Service was excellent! I ordered the all meat scramble and the wife had the burrito. She could only manage to eat half of hers. Guess she has breakfast tomorrow. Mine was also very good lots of ham, bacon, and sausage. I only wish they had included some onion and peppers. That would have made it excellent. They have a very nice patio for all meals and they are dog friendly. They also have daily specials. So it has been a long time, several years I fact since we have been here. I must that the improvements are great. We walked in and were met immediately and to sit where ever we liked. Great! Our server came over within a few minutes and took our drink order and brought us water. I ordered the Campfire while my wife ordered the Sonora Scramble. Needless to say, mine was excellent and my wife's was so large that she brought half of it home. Mine was hash browns with two eggs on top covered with gravy. Hers was eggs scrambled with green chili's, onions, chorizo, and cilantro. She commented that the hash browns were cooked perfect. Nice an crunchy with no grease. Service was excellent as was the food. Prices are very reasonable for what you get and the Bloody Mary's are great. So I am hanging my review to 4 stars. Glad to see the improvements and changes. I participated in a golf event at this location where a burger and chips were offered as meal to personnel that attended. I had been there before so I decided to get one of their signature 1/2lb burgers. Instead of preparing the burger with one of their 1/2lb patties, they used one of the cold grilled 1/4lb ones from the event. The reason for the one star isn't because of the burger but because the lack of willingness to do anything about it when I informed them of the mistake. I always looked forward to the burger and fries after playing a round of golf here, now I will just bring my lunch. read more

Hacienda Del Lago is good for what it is - a golf club house restaurant! The food is typical American bar food - burgers, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, etc. they have a good happy hour and make good drinks! The service is usually good. We typically go for happy hour and get beers and wings and when the weather is good, we try to sit on the patio overlooking the green and the mountains. I have also used the restaurant as a special event space for my baby shower. The event coordinator was so kind and friendly and the team who showed up to help the event were also very kind and accommodating. We had a brunch-like menu and that was just fine! We went here for our first breakfast in Arizona when we first moved here. I can only speak on their breakfast for now. The breakfast was good with an amazing view! My husband got the juevos rancheros which was decent! I ordered their pancakes and grits. The pancakes were dense and dry. The grits came out like soup so I don't think thr person who prepared it realized how water it was. If you are use to actual seasoned food this will taste okay to you. Also portions are small or "healthy" compared to other restaurants which isn't bad but you might leave still hungy. Since I was just meeting someone, I had a cup of clam chowder soup. It was nice. Very simple with lots of tarragon flavor. Since I like tarragon, I liked the soup. Was it a dream clam chowder!?
