If you're looking for an upset stomach, eating the same food over and over, and poor customer service, look no further than Trifecta. My wife and I were customers for approximately 3 weeks and every single week, it was the exact same food. Today, I ate a salmon dish and have been in the bathroom all afternoon with a terribly upset stomach. When I went to cancel (which you CANNOT do on your own, as other reviewers have also pointed out), I called and no one answered. I could only leave a message or send an e-mail. I sent an e-mail and then was informed that I would be forced to take my meals that HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN MADE OR SHIPPED because Trifecta is going to burn you one last time when you cancel. So, I'll be charged ~$200 for food that I don't want because of Trifecta's 7 day cancellation policy. This means that if you receive your meals on Saturday instead of Friday (which is what happened to me) and you want to cancel, you'll be FORCED to pay for another week even if you don't want the meals, because you are 6 days from your next receipt of meals on what is supposed to be Friday. You'll want to stay far away from Trifecta if you want customer service, varying menu options, and food that doesn't make you sick. read more

Unfortunately, I have to leave a 1 start review to post! Never have been able to access my account since signing up. Keeps saying password is wrong, ask for it to be reset and it still doesn't work. I called customer service on Friday 09.12.2020 told they had to submit an IT ticket and they would contact me back within an hour, 4 days later I am still waiting. Tried calling Saturday, Sunday and today - no answer. On top of it - they automatically charged me $150.00 for another shipment. I tried Trifecta for 5 weeks (5 deliveries). Let me start with the positive(s): the food, if you receive variety, is quite good and tasty. The convenience of consistent, regular delivery of healthy, organic meals that are heat-and-serve is really nice and also rare. Now the many downsides: if you order breakfast, you will only ever get a frittata. Period. So for a month, that was 30 days of frittatas. Futhermore, you will get the same type of frittata for each delivery. I called customer service after the first week and asked if they could mix up the versions of frittata so that I didn't have to eat 7 days of the exact same breakfast. I understand that if you're shipping meals you are probably limited in what you can send via delivery that will stay fresh and taste delicious. And I like eggs so I didn't mind having only frittatas but really just wanted maybe 3 of one type and 4 of another. Not 7 days of the exact same one. They provided variety for breakfast one delivery out of the of 5. I called and would ask for some variety and then I received three more deliveries of the same breakfast. Each call was an assurance they would provide some sort of difference/variety and then I would get 7 of the same meal again. So that's annoying to pay more than $300 a week for the same exact breakfast over and over again. Then there is the packaging. Again, I understand there will be limits to what you can do to keep items fresh and shipped all over the US. And I understand that there will be a certain amount of waste when you are having 21 weekly meals delivered to you. But this weekly delivery comes in two huge boxes packed to the brim with Styrofoam and plastic. In theory the many, many icepacks used per deliver can be dumped down the sink because they are claimed to be water soluable and nontoxic. A mail-back or re-use program for these packs and styrofoam would be more environmentally-friendly and probably save the company money. Each meal is wrapped in plastic. It's a lot of single use plastic. Finally, while the dinner and lunch meals had more variety within each delivery, you should expect to see many repeats week to week. You're going to see Almond Crusted Cod no less than 16 times in a month, for example. I also asked for No White Fish after one of the deliveries because the cod was severely overcooked and kind of gummy. That request was ignored for two more deliveries afterward. Lots of cod. If none of these things is particularly bothersome or problematic for you, then I think you might like this service. For me, spending $300 a week should come with more variety, less quirkiness in the delivery, and a lot less waste. Hell, increase the cost to $330 a month if you need it to pencil out and use compostable bins for the meals. read more

I really tried to like Trifecta. Food taste is a 5/10 for most dishes. I got food poisoning from their chicken thigh dishes from two separate deliveries. Always freshly received and put into the fridge. About 75% of deliveries were not on time. One week it just never came at all. It's nearly impossible to cancel. I've left them messages and they just don't call back and don't cancel your order, so you have to keep skipping orders. It's annoying and frankly should be illegal. This food is disgusting. Everything is super salty an the portion sizes to calories ratio makes absolutely no sense. The food was inedible. I got the food on a Friday and was unable to cancel the next week's food since the last day to cancel an order is also on Friday. I had not had a chance to even taste the food before being charged for the next week. I am willing to waste the $145 I was charged for this week to avoid eating that garbage. Each meal comes out to roughly $15 - not worth it at all. I have done other meal plans in the past; this is an absolute scam. I wanted to love Trifecta, but so far it's not living up to my expectations. In addition to the late deliveries that many reviewers mention, many of the meals I'm receiving are too high calorie & low protein to fit into my diet. About 1/2 my meals are 450 calories plus, which is a lot for a regular sized woman trying to lose weight. When the meals are high in protein I can justify it, but +450 calories and less than 20g of protein does not fit my macro & calorie needs. I'm going to give Trifecta one more week, but likely will cancel if I experience the same order delay and nutrition breakdown. read more

Never even got to try the food but the customer service is awful. I had a delivery scheduled for this Friday (its Monday) and had some unfortunate circumstances come up that made me have to take an emergency trip and wont be in town to receive the delivery. I call customer support for assistance and was told because I didn't call a WEEK in advance there is nothing they can do and my package will be delivered anyway. That is a HORRIBLE way to do business and wont be getting any from me as I look to one of there competitors for a better experience. First week arrived a day later and they stated "we were busier than expected" Week 2 delivery comes round and no delivery. I have to contact them to be told "another busy week we will get them out as soon as we can". No timeframe, nothing. Even when the week 1 meals arrived it was obvious they had rushed and just duplicated what they had available. 21 meals ordered and the majority were split between 3 types. I could understand why some customers wouldn't like the new menu- it is very spicy but I enjoy spicy. I did get a refund for the two months () but I feel sorry they can't find reliable delivery help. The food DOES NOT taste good and horrible customer service. I wanted to try them out since they promise a money back guarantee if you're not completely satisfied with your first order. After trying three different meals, I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. So, I emailed their customer service and explained to them that I unfortunately was not enjoying the meals and would like a refund. They ended up giving me a refund for only the 3 meals that I tried after informing them that I didn't have the appetite to even eat the rest of them, after losing my appetite on the first 3 attempts. I wanted to cancel my subscription as well, obviously. However, they charged me for a second box and ending up shipping it while I was out of town so the box just sat there all weekend after asking to cancel my subscription. The most upsetting part about all of this is the wasted food at this point! One of the reasons I wanted to try this service was to have less food waste. Very frustrating. So, after emailing them a third time about wanting a refund as well as an end to my subscription, another representative emailed me back saying that they could handle this over the phone. After giving them my phone number and letting them know to call me at their convenience, it's been two days and I haven't heard anything AND I've been charged a third time and sent a third box which I don't want to eat! I emailed them to let them know that I contacted my bank to dispute these transactions since at this point, I feel as if this is fraud. The food is really not tasty or enjoyable to eat. I ordered the Paleo package using a Black Friday coupon code, and even with the discount, I totally regret it. I've tried 4 different meals, and they all basically tasted the same - too little salt, too little seasoning, and just... gross. Given how insanely expensive the meals are and how many grams of fat is in most of them, I was hoping for something that tasted better, but I literally threw one in the trash today after choking down the third bite. What a waste. The one thing I did enjoy was the chicken breast - it was moist and flavorful. The meals are pretty awful, and ungodly expensive for the quality. Definitely not ordering again, and will warn others not to, as well. For reference, I have tried Ice Age Meals, too, and while they're only a little cheaper, they taste 20x better. I actually really enjoyed most of them, so it's not a frozen-paleo-packaged-food thing. Trifecta just doesn't make good-tasting food. The most hideous customer services I've ever dealt with. I tried there food one week told them not to re-order. After first week another box came the 2nd week. I called and said I want to be refunded. The woman that I spoke with said we can't refund this since it wasn't in time but it will be cancelled so you won't have any future meals ordered. Guess what got another box this weekend and guess what they are still charging my card. Ive been trying to get ahold of someone for over 90 mins still on hold. I want my money back or I'm going to make sure the world knows how big of scam artists these guys are. - update - 8/4/2020 someone finally called back a few hours after I left the above review. They ended up refunding one of the weeks but said they would refund all of the charges except the initial which is fine and I agree with. As of now I am still waiting on confirmation that the others were refunded. Will update once/if I get confirmation. My suggestion is giving customers the option to cancel the food orders online if your not staff heavy enough to answer the incoming calls. If trifecta used the PPP money the right way there shouldn't be a shortage in customer service. Customer service is everything and is something they will need in order for longevity. This service worked great for my busy schedule. The food (Clean) helped me stay on track and I like the fact that you could skip weeks when needed. Additionally, I found that the food was well flavored and offered a good selection each week. The only thing I didn't care for were the chicken thighs, but I also don't like dark meat in general, so nothing to do with how it was prepared. I used the service for 6 months and only stopping now as my schedule/travel is starting to change again, but a good chance I will be back using Trifecta again at a later date. read more

I tried Trifecta for about 3-4 months. I thought their ready made meals were variable. There were good ones, REALLY GOOD ones and ones that I just did not enjoy. The proportions were actually GENEROUS; I had trouble finishing my food sometimes and they really kept me full. I ended up ordering in bulk rather than ready made meals. For the price and amount of food though I can definitely say the price is cheaper compared to other food delivery companies. The food was great like I have no complaints about it. They were cooked for me, I only needed to heat them, maybe add veggies here and there. They were healthy. I think improving customer service/communications would be a good start. In all the times I've contacted the company (calling, chatting, emails), today when I decided to cancel my subscription was the FIRST TIME I ever got a response from someone in real time. When I asked to have my orders delivered another week/day some weeks back because I wasn't going to be home, no one EVER got back to me. I had sent the email early enough. I had chatted and waited on their website. I called and left a message. I think someone tried to call me but they never left me a voice mail. The food ended up being in our apartment leasing office for 2 days and everything had kinda defrosted by the time I got to it. There was the other time I received no update that I was getting my food delivered on Saturday instead of Friday so I wasted that Friday waiting to make sure I could get to it and it never came. I sent an email and never got a response from the email but I got an automated email early Saturday morning that the food was arriving so I had to reschedule everything I had planned. There were times I skipped a week or two but they somehow didn't go through and I ended up having WAY TOO MUCH in the freezer and the quality of the food tends to go down if it's just frozen you know? I sent 2 emails with complaints about the above events and NO ONE EVER got back to me on those either. I would also suggest putting being able to cancel your subscription as an option in the account area as well. Not that cancelling with them is difficult-in fact it was probably one of the easiest things about the company. You can either call or send a chat message and they give you the 'sad to see you go' and you're off the hook. Their website misleads to how many days you can get the meals to which day delivery is etc , then it takes days to reach out to customer service and complicated to make any changes, no one understand what's going on and rude and takes hundreds emails and calls . You can't pick the meals on the menu like all the other companies has and what I got , half of the food looked horrible all smooshed in plastic and I can't eat it like beef etc . THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND DIDN'T DELIVER ANYTHING!!! No call, no email, no nothing. You pay them more and they do less. Wtf? I go on their website and was put in queue for 45 minutes. I started at 8 and it dropped down to 4 and just stopped. And I know they weren't busy. They were probably about to close and figured "Oh well... they can call tomorrow. Let's leave." I have been looking for a meal delivery service that is healthy because a family member had a heart attack. I asked if it was possible for meals to be prepared with no oils and got a response via their website chat stating that they use "healthy oils". Anyone with half a brain cell knows that people who have had a heart attack shouldn't be having any oil, red meat or high fat foods, especially something as processed as a high fat oil. I said there is no healthy oils and got a condescending response " hmm alrighty then" and a smile emoji and then he closed the chat. I was really excited for this meal company.....but had some major issues. 1. Foreign Object in Meal: First meal had a piece of PLASTIC in it!? Was shocked when I bit down on the PVC like small plastic tube - no idea where it came from. 2. Packaging: Sucks......I am a new mom in a pandemic with 2 huge dogs and a full time job - I need my $200/week meals to be easy and helpful. It literally took me 5 minutes to wrestle with the plastic seal. After expecting to just pull it off with one hand, I had to put babe down and bust out two pairs of scissors bc the first wasn't sharp enough to cut open the packaging. THEN! In efforts to open the plastic wrap with the scissors, sauce from the meal flew all over the kitchen as I pulled back the wrap. I really ONLY when with Trifecta for the convenience to grab a healthy meal with a babe in my arms - I sadly found totally NOT DOABLE. 3. Customer Service Fail: When I immediately called to cancel the next meals I was put on hold with no one to come back. I called back 5x that day and pressed the button to have them call me back EVERY time - not one call back! I just don't understand Trifecta. Followed with an email complaining and requesting to cancel the next week ASAP (didn't mind paying for the first at all just didn't want more), they took another 3 days to get back to me! After taking their time (or purposely not calling me back so i pay for the next weeks meals - can't tell) They told me sorry it was already shipped. I responded back to cancel the meals again without any confirmation they would do so. That being said I called my CC company to make sure they cannot charge me anymore. But overall super disappointing, had to fix a huge problem that was suppose to make my life easier and then make sure they don't continue to charge me. Though the food of this company taste good (2 stars for that), if you are really conscientious about making sure that the macros fit into your diet, I urge you to be very aware of their false advertisement regarding the macros that you see listed on each meal featured on their website. I ordered 9 meals and some elk and every single item I ordered, the meals' packaging showed info incongruent with the macros on the website. I studied the macros of each meal I chose to order because I wanted low fat and moderate carbs so the meals I chose from the site were aligned with my diet goals. However, when I received the meals, the macros were all over the place. One example of all the conflicting nutritional values is as follows (see attached pics):On the website, the Chicken Breast, Sweet Potatoes and Mixed Veggie meals says: 310 Calories 4g Fat 32g Carbs 37g Protein However the actual meal packing says: 390 Calories (80 more calories than advertised on the site) 19g Fat (15 or 3.5 times more fat grams than what is advertised on their site. They must be adding extra fat to the meal because skinless chicken breast usually contains no more than 3g of fat) 21g Carbs (11g less carbs than advertised on their site) 38g Protein I called the company and the Rep was very defensive and argumentative telling me that 80 calories and 3.5 times the advertised fat grams, etc. is not a big deal to anyone's diet, even though I don't eat over 30-35 grams a fat a day and I am on a 1500 caloric diet-- so yes, everything counts! I was in disbelief that he had the unmitigated audacity to give his unsolicited opinion about my diet goals and requirements to justify their false advertisement. He also told me that though I would get a refund, he wanted me to know they can't guarantee what you see on the site is accurate because it's a lot that goes into cooking the meals. That would be fine if I didn't care about the macros and I just wanted good tasting food, but I do care and I am sure that the type of clientele that orders from them do indeed care about the macros as well because this maybe one of the main attraction to the company. You also cannot easily cancel your subscriptions. You must call or email them and they do not open when they say they do and you may or may not get an email response. Though I enjoyed the food, I would not order from them again. Regretfully, I will go back to cooking all my own meals so I know exactly what I am getting. read more

I have been a customer for a few months now (Trifecta ships all over the country) and have been extremely pleased with Trifecta's meals and service. The meals--I've been getting the vegetarian plan--are delicious--in fact, I've liked almost every one, so not getting to select specific ones, as is the case for the plan I have, has not been a problem. The one time I had a delivery problem (not Trifecta's fault), customer service was wonderfully helpful. They've made some great new changes that resulted in my receiving my meals sooner, in better containers, with more eco-friendly ice packs, and with more variety. I'm a very happy customer and would definitely recommend Trifecta as an excellent option for healthy, convenient meals. read more

I wish I would of read the reviews prior to ordering from Trifecta. I ordered Ala Carte Food to try some stuff to sample. The food was good I would totally keep ordering but when I want food not on a schedule. One thing I didn't realize was that they do not go out of their way to tell you is the food will keep coming when you think its a one time order and not a meal plan. So I got notice a week later another order was coming and about to arrive the next day, no problem so I look to cancel online Friday night for the next week and you cannot cancel online?? So I have to call now Monday and guess what? I am too late to stop another order coming in another five days! This is total BS and deceptive way to do business. Instead of retaining a customer for life by being reasonable they would rather nickel and dime you. You have been warned. I am so mad I am going to feed the last order to my dogs! **Update**. Trifecta made numerous attempts to contact me about my negative review. I was issued credit for meals when I didn't ask for credit but thank you to them for showing good faith. I just wish the issue was originally handled in a better way instead of waiting for a bad review to get your attention. I was disappointed by their food. I received two shipments and both times the food only lasts about 4 days. This is because it is cooked and shipped on a Monday before you receive it Friday, so the food doesn't last longer than a week after being cooked, which is normal. The food is not very good, so I attempted to cancel via email (they won't let you cancel via their website, you have to physically talk to someone at trifecta to cancel). After sending the cancellation email, I received an email asking why I want to cancel, and noticed my subscription on the website is still active. So they're refusing to cancel my subscription until I talk with them and convince them that I should be allowed to cancel? That's not only illegal, it's patently insane for a company to attempt.
